What is your favorite boss battle?

Here is another community question: What is your favorite boss battle? Mine has to be the final boos battle on Sonic the Hedgehog '06 where you get to play as Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and Super Silver. The boss was Solaris, the combination of Mephiles and Iblis. you actully beat that EVIL game? I rage quit after that tornado in crisis city few years ago. sonic 06 is just garbage. even the first level had 50 million glitches. i didn't find the glitches, the glitches find you! :kz: also everyone is slow as crap for a sonic game.

anyway my favorite boss battle is R&C future: crack in time, nefarious battle. allistar was just garbage to me. i beat him with only my wrench (im serious i did this more than a few times) while nefarious had more of a fight, going to platform to platform, dodging lots of things, and obviously you have to use your weapons on him.		2012-09-10 05:32:00

Tough call, though off the top of my head some of my favorites are, through a nice mix of gameplay mechanics, music, and overall atmosphere are (excluding the more spoileriffic ones)...

My favourite boss is probably Phalanx from SOTC. It's just unbelievably graceful and passive, and you feel like poo after you kill it.

I also "liked" Giygas and the Masked Man from Earthbound and Mother 3 respectively. One disturbs the hell out of you, and the other just depresses you. Actually, both disturb and depress the hell out of you.

Wow, I really like bosses that tug at your heartstrings.

From a gameplay perspective, I've always liked Puppet Ganon and the final duel in LoZ: The Windwaker. I just think that they're enjoyable fights.		2012-09-11 05:12:00

I was totally obsessed with Sonic back who knows when. I'm not anymore, but I played the living crap out of that game. Also, I agree with Ratchet and Clank. Nefarious was much more of a challenge, while Allistar you just had to shoot at.		2012-09-11 22:36:00

Giygas would have been fine... save for the fact that it looks like a fetus and the "music" that plays during the fight. I know the theory is debunked, but still. Earthbound is much more subdued than Mother 3, but it still has some creepy moments.		2012-09-12 16:55:00

EDIT: Oh I just posted 2 vids. Ok, I liked Ballos because it was so insanely hard. That other boss fight Kalawishis put down there has slightly better music though, but I just love hard boss battles.

Yami, the final boss of Okami, is one of longest boss battles I've ever played wonderful ending to a wonderful game.

Ratchet and Clank bosses, such as Drek, Azimuth and Nefarious are great too. Shadow of the colossus Colossi (exept the last one) are awesome too.		2012-09-12 18:08:00

I'm surprised nobody has said The End from MGS3.

I honestly don't think I've ever fought The End by way of a legitimate sniper duel in all my MGS3 playthroughs. I always either used rushdown tactics, or used really lowblow tactics and killed him while he was asleep in the wheelchair or used the "death by old age" easter egg.

My favorite Metal Gear bosses would actually probably be Psycho Mantis, the mass-produced RAYs, and Liquid Ocelot.		2012-09-14 17:05:00

-Ganon (Zelda: Ocarina of Time, both N64 and 3DS)

-Marx (Kirby Super Star)

-Mecbeth and Shogun (Starfox 64, both N64 and 3DS)

-The Axem Rangers (Super Mario RPG)

-Final Mizar (Jet Force Gemini)

-The multi-arms robot, uhh.. forgot its name (Zelda: Skyward Sword)

-Last boss fights of Xemnas (Kingdom Hearts 2)

-Bowser (Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2)

-Ganondorf and Zant (Zelda: Twilight Princess)

-Medusa, Chariot Master, and Hades (Kid Icarus: Uprising)

I also liked the boss battle in Singularity (a game which literally no one has heard of) where you fight this big blue monster dude with a freakin mace thing. There was also this sick boss battle in RAGE where you fought this huge (and I meant HUGE) monster and you had to use a rocket launcher.2012-09-15 04:31:00
