Is littlebignetwork down?

Ok, I'm not entirely sure if this is the right section of the forum, but...

So... Today I was in my daily LBP-fansite routine and when I tried to load littlebignetwork.com there was this message about a guy saying that he hacked the site because... Uh... I think he didn't like its content or something.
I'm making this thread from my iPad, so I can't upload any screenshots at the time, but I will when I get to my laptop. Anyway, check it out! Just go to littlebignetwork.com as usual, and you will find the message.

Why do people do this I wonder? I guess they'll have to increase security in the site somehow.		2012-09-08 16:11:00

Yep the hackers have been doing the rounds of the LBP forums. First LBL, then LBPC and now they finally worked their way round to LBN.
I guess these particular forums are vunerable because they are run by well meaning gamers rather than computer/programming types.
An advisory message has been left by the hacker who wished to raise attention to the vunerabilty. The exploit will be fixed later tonight when the main admin with access to the software files gets home.
there is a work round to access as only the main page has been altered.
You can google search littlebignetwork and then enter via the links provided:

Yeah, you can do that. Still, you cannot upload a file "from your computer" in any site from your iPad. Except for twitter maybe. Yep, I uploaded the photo with the twitter app, maybe if I post the link to Twitter where I have the photo... Maybe later.		2012-09-08 19:59:00

Why would someone do this? Did LBP hurt him or something lol? People really have nothing better to do.

He basically just changed the URL direction, or something like that. I feel tempted to bomb this guy with a Trojan just to hurt his ego. Seeing that this might be the same guy who hacked into LBL and LBPC, he probably won't stop unless the sites are hack-proof or if we bait him. I'm confident that LBPC has some sort of system in place, but I can't say the same about the others.

Get the site fixed, then set-up either a really good hacker-proof system (if you can afford/ do it) or a trap that'll catch/infect him next time he tries hacking.		2012-09-09 04:03:00

I know it's probably not Dark_KV or whatever from LBL. That guy was just an ***, this guy seems to want to negotiate for some reason.. But wouldn't be surprised if it's the guy that did this site. Plus, The guy that hacked LBL told me when I contacted him that it was part of an test. This seems to be something he does to everyone he can.		2012-09-09 15:48:00

We assume it is on purpose, and the possibility is there. Enochroot was able to keep his mod powers and status. Orange Mods kept there accounts but not there powers. Blue mods got deleted completely.

If you have a password on that site, I would highly suggest making sure any account you think might be attached/related to your LBN account (Including your PSN) has a different password.		2012-09-11 02:18:00

I believe that might be RknRolla, Our technical admin, making sure that he can deal with the situation without interruption.

To answer your question about mod ship.. Enochroot, B-Coli, and RknRolla are admins and there are a quite a few mods like myself on the site as well.		2012-09-11 02:46:00

looks like LBN is back up... the only thing is the last saved backup was from August 8... so use the passwords you had from that time period.

EDIT: sorry everyone... i was just messaging on LP a few times and just now got the maintenance message. RnR might still be tweaking things. might be wise to wait a bit longer until everything is stable.		2012-09-11 21:04:00

I know exactly how the forum was hacked, what nasty filenames need to be deleted and what should be done I related all news of my findings to RkNrolla (the site owner). I also helped him with what should be done.

yes I don't think it will be back online for the next few hours. It is late in Europe so Rkn will probably be sleeping now so decided to keep the forum offline until he finishes fixes and tests the stability. I will update later when it is stable.		2012-09-12 00:20:00

Incorrect in almost every area Killerrain.
LBN like all the LBP fansites is not a business, if it were it would've been wound up long ago as it generates almost zero funds. It runs on donations from members and each quarter barely covers server fees. There was no rude communication from the admins to the hacker, that would've been very counter productive. Throwing the name anonymous into the mix is ridiculous as we are far outside the target zone of the well known hacktavist group. The site is down until we re-install an earlier back-up saved on the server with various exploitable add ons removed or we may switch to a more secure format like LBL.		2012-09-12 15:07:00

nothing against sackomediablog, i'm sure it's a great LBP site, but the motivation for this post seems a bit transparent. most of your efforts in reporting information (whether true or untrue) have been counterproductive in getting things back on track for LBN, killerain, perhaps even putting other LBP sites where you have been posting at risk. if you have any information you think might be helpful to LBN, you should relay it directly to the admins via LBPC PM, not on a public forum.		2012-09-12 15:47:00

It's back up, for now at least. Also a month of content has been erased, so right now it is early august in LBN. Everything has been erased but will eventually be restored hopefully such as the promotions and the film festival threads.

Also anyone who joined from mid-August to now is not in the user database anymore apparently, so those people will have to sign back up.		2012-09-13 03:17:00
