Is LBPKarting coming to the Vita?

Archive: 11 posts

Ok, I'm starting to get confused. Read this and tell me what you think he's saying here

remember, this part of the conversation is just after talking about LBPKarting:

BR: The Vita also has quite a few multimedia features, such as augmented reality using the cameras. How are those features going to be utilized in this game?

[B]ML: In the Vita version? They pretty much built the Vita version to try to take advantage of every single function that the Vita offers, so there’s front touch, rear touch, six-axis motion and augmented reality. You can use the cameras to take pictures of things, and then put those in the game a sticker, and you can use them for navigating Sackboy through certain levels as well. There are a couple of different applications for it, but I think this is a good game specifically for our library that shows all that the Vita can do. A lot of the ones like Reality Fighters and Little Deviants, you had a game that was built around functions, but it wasn’t necessarily that much fun of a game. In this case, it’s a full LittleBigPlanet experience, and you’ll find yourself using all of the functions in a really cool and unique way. But it makes sense for the game, it’s not just a showpiece to say “Hey, look how we use the back touch.”

Has he just let something slip or is he just talking about LBP as a franchise?

'navigating Sackboy through certain levels' sounds much more like walking/running instead of driving. Who knows though, it would be great if a Vita Karting was made. The developers never totally shot the idea down so it's possible.

I'm hoping though it'll be a new story mode like LBP1 and LBP PSP. That would be sweet!

EDIT: Um, why does the guy say it's coming out in October? All of the release dates are in November.

And this paragraph sounds really fishy...

The last game that I wanted to delve into was LittleBigPlanet Karting, which I was able to see demoed in one of the Vita kiosks. It plays like your standard kart racer, though putting it into the LittleBigPlanet universe definitely gives it a unique twist. Sackboy has joined Kratos and Nathan Drake as one of the faces of Sony, so a kart racer featuring the quirky LittleBigPlanet conventions had me very intrigued. More intriguing to me was what this meant for Vita owners, the franchise standard of having loads of DLC and how the ability to create your own content will factor into the experience.

Either this guy is hinting at a Vita version of the game or he hasn't taken his meds today.

EDIT AGAIN: Alright so I looked closely and this guy refers to 2 different versions of LBP... The Karting version and the Vita version.(So LBPV and LBPK) Kind of an odd way to word it.

Well this is what I mean. He says 'In one of the Vita booths'. I can understand an odd slip up but wouldn't he want to correct himself because that clearly appears there's a version on the Vita. Yes there could have been a PS3 there but it's still odd wording. It was at the show though so surely it would have been reported by now... unless it was a private showing of the Vita version of the game?

It just sounds like this dude is mixing up LBP Vita and LBP Karting WAY too much in his sentences which makes no sense, given how opposite the games are. Maybe he was in a hurry and didn't have time to think out his words.

Or, there is truth to this picture that leaked earlier this year.

Wouldn't be a very smart move though to not even reveal a Vita version yet, it's pretty late in the year. Hype=Sales.

Hmm...He definitely mixes up the games way to much,But i think he just see it as something he should talk about at the same because it's the same franchise,I really don't think there making a vita version right now,Maybe in a year or so...But that article is very suspicious,I mean why would LBPK be demoed in a vita "kiosk" Hmm...And why will he feel the need to say that he was in a vita kiosk hmm... 2012-09-03 23:35:00

True. But then again, I doubt that's Call of Duty's actual artwork as well. Maybe the advertisers were lazy

I rather see a different lbp vechicle game. It's great seeing karting on ps3 but i think that should stay a exlusive for ps3. I would like to see IDK airplanes, bikes, motorcycles, or whatever vehicle. It just makes things look even for lbp franchise. ps3 lbp *sees lbpv**makes a new game* and then vita lbp *sees lbpk* *make a new game*.2012-09-23 03:19:00

LittleBigPlanet Karting – which is actually rather brilliant – has only been officially announced for PlayStation 3. However, in an interview to be published on TheSixthAxis today, Jen Timms, producer on the game, hinted that the PS3 version might not be the only format you can get the game on further down the line.
“You know, it’s a logical place for it to end up but there’s nothing set in stone yet,” said Jen when we asked specifically about a Vita version.
“We’re still so focused on finishing the PS3 version and making that the best it can possibly be.”
“In fact the team are right now wrapping up the last few days before submission and we’re nearly there! It’s been a lot of hard work but it’s so exciting!” she added. The game went through a beta period in the summer, and will hopefully run smoothly once released.
So is there any chance of us getting a portable version?
“Honestly, we’re heads down and focused on [the PS3 submission] right now,” Jen replied, “but like I said there are just so many more places for it to be and it would be great to see it on a handheld, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Fingers crossed.
Our full interview with Jen will be published later today.
