The Fading Light...

Archive: 9 posts

A short movie reflecting on mortality and loss, two issues which we all encounter during the passage of time.
A character study sees an old man haunted by loss, living in the shadows as his senses fade. Probably, not to everyones taste but if you enjoy poetry and a little existential metaphysical reflection then you might like this... LBP.me Link http://lbp.me/v/f-33w1

It's short but very well done. I have only one suggestion though... time the smoke puff so that he exhales as he puts the cigarette down rather than just as it reaches his mouth. Great work though...

As for the F4F I think you've already given my levels (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?81-Cool-Levels) a run through and commented on them elsewhere. I have gone through recently and updated a few visuals here and there though.

thanks for the suggestion on the timing of the exhale noise. It only actually triggers once and I'll adjust the timing to get it in synch. Glad you enjoyed it and will be checking your levels again to see an new additions.

Awwe this looks cute got it queued.

Lol, depressed old men lamenting thier sad life does look cute, especially in this brilliant little film.
Somber, pensive, and a reminder that we all will look back at a point in our life and remember the people and places that made us happy. I love the ending with the starfield, whch made me wonder if that meant the old guy is wanting to go to heaven, assuming he believes in such things. Deep stuff mate.

Thanks KK!
Like a lot of poetry the ending is supposed to be open to each individuals interpretation or perception. To someone with a religious/spiritual inclination it could be read as you suggested. To others it may be a reference to the loneliness and insignifigance of a single human existence in the vast cosmic scale and lifespan of the universe...and too others still it me be just a case of oooh looky at the pwetty lights! It depends on the engagement in the sentiment behind the level. Thanks for playing and feedingback.
