A Corner Editing-Like Tool for Tag Sensors
Archive: 4 posts
Okay, so you know how when you place a material like a cardboard block? You can use the corner editing tool to shape it out how you like. What I want is to do that to shape the perimeters (Detection Range) of Tag Sensors, and Player/Sticker Sensors. I don't like it when the Tag Sensor I am working with has a circular detection range. You can change the angle, but I usually have to make multiple tag sensors just to make a rectangular detection range. I hope I made sense so everyone could understand what I am saying, leave a post saying you need some clarification on what I said | 2012-09-03 04:44:00 Author: minifat Posts: 75 |
There's actually quite a simple workaround for this. Many users have lamented the lack of a custom-shaped player sensor, tag sensor, etc. The solution is holo (holographic material) set to 0% brightness and the Impact sensor. The Impact sensor takes the shape of any object you put it on. So if you want a star-shaped detection range, or a square shape, or the letter S, or anything else, create this shape with holo, then put the Impact sensor or the tag on it, just as if you would put the Tag sensor or tag on it. Since the material is invisible and has no physical mass it can be placed anywhere in any thickness, which creates the same result as the Tag sensor's "detect all layers / detect this layer only" function. | 2012-09-03 05:46:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah, I use sticker panel material and an impact sensor. | 2012-09-03 11:19:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |

Thanks, I'll try that, but I still think they should add this | 2012-09-03 15:48:00 Author: minifat Posts: 75 |
