Ok, so during the beta I was outspoken about my concerns for this game... (strike that) well, actually angered. I love LBP, and that's no exaggeration. My biggest concern was the create mode. I put it simply: 'I feel as if this LBP game is more for the technophiles than the artists amongst the community'. I still stand by that but I now believe I was guilty of subjectivity; something I never advocate in others when considering the bigger picture. After watching footage of the Jam and listening to all those that took part, I feel I owe the community an apology. You see, it was my inadequacy that informed by opinion. This was rather childish of me and I'm embarrassed to have to admit that. Basically, I spat my dummy out because I couldn't use it as well as others. That frustration lead to many posts over at the official beta forums and it spilled a little into this one. I'm not saying it's now miraculously perfect though, far from it, but it's certainly not the 'car crash' I thought it was. This is the nub of it: There were others who were as concerned as me, and judging by the latest poll on this very site, they still arbour that resentment or concern. I'm not trying to discredit their opinion here, I'm just trying to put it into context. Some of those people may well have completely different reason for preferring LPVita, but I would bet that some have similar views to me. What I've come to realise though is that once you demand more from something, it's inevitable that the process becomes more complex. That complexity was always going to favour the technically minded amongst us, so I realised I could no longer complain in those terms. So here's to all those at the Jam and all those that got to grips with the creation process. You are the reason this community is great and I'm sorry that for two crazy weeks I forgot that simple fact.

There was a lot of negativity on the LBPK Beta forum... A lot of people were expecting it to be more like a LBP3 rather then a completely new game which it is! The way I looked at it right from the start is as this: LBP1 was great right from the start because we had nothing to compare it too... Then LBP2 came out and the difference between them was amazing! All the new features made it outstanding compared to LBP1! LBPK is the new LBP1... You can't expect it to be better then LBP2 and you can't expect it to have as much change in it as LBP2 had to LBP1! They have to start somewhere just as LBP2 started with LBP1 and LBP1 started with Yellowhead! How long did it take to get LBP2 to the point of the game play it has now... How many years? Now how many years has LBPK been in development and been tweaked and worked over and over? Ugh... Don't even know if I'm making sense anymore in my rant but I hope my opinion on LBPK is undertsood even if not agreed with!

That's totally fine, besides, it's good to have a different point of view every once in a while, even if you decide that's not what you really wanted to stick with. It was the beta anyway, so it's understandable. There were plenty of moments where I found myself unable to understand or use the tools. The transition between 2.5D and 3D is a large one.

LBPK is the new LBP1... You can't expect it to be better then LBP2 and you can't expect it to have as much change in it as LBP2 had to LBP1! They have to start somewhere just as LBP2 started with LBP1 and LBP1 started with Yellowhead! You're spot on! In some ways, LBPK has the same "rough" feel as LBP1 does (especially compared to LBP2). But that's not the complete story: in other areas I can see they really looked at and learned from LBP2, in the logic selection for example.

I dont see a reason why to get mad at GG. He has his own opinion on the game, and personally I agree with him. The game does have flaws and its not the greatest LBP game made especially when it comes to Create Mode.
