I swear, LittleBigPlanet 2's Music Maker could make freakin masterpieces....

If it had real sounding instruments. Im really in to making music. I always thought of random beats or tunes in my head that I always dreamed of making inot a real thing lol. I used to use a bunch of these primative music makers on the computer. Oh and I remember when I was like 8 or 9 when I first got a cell phone there was this dumb music maker thing with pre set sound samples that I just lovvveedd messing with. Then when I heard LBP2 would have a music creator I was crazy excited for that. Of course I was disappointed by the instrument samples but the actual system of creating the music is just amazingly effective yet simple.

Its not too hard to get used to, im not going to go into details how to use it lol. But Ive created soooo much music it was rediculous. I remade stuff and mmade my original stuff. Soo much wasted potential. If you play too many instruments at once It lags, the instruments suck. I still loved using it though. I stopped playing LBP2 like a year ago and I downloaded FL Studios because I was really getting serious about making music. My computer broke about a moonth after I got it but I got it fixed a couple months ago and im just starting to get back in to it. Its just so amazingly-overly complicated. I mean Im learning it but It does NOT have to be that complicated honestly! I know of course a professional program has more features than something in a videogame but still.

Im good with getting all the notes right, all the chords right, all of the timing, everything! The only thing that is holding me back from making GOOOODDD sounding music is the overly complicated system of professional music makers and the crappy instruments of LBP 2's music maker....

Really im passionate about this, I didnt get my laptop fixed until near the end of summer so now I have like no time to learn that right now. Im planning on going into something to do with computer programming when I get a career and if I get the slightest chance I am going to make a music sequencer that is simple like LBP's but with all of those professional sounds. Or try my hardest to get someone to try to make it... I dont know how I will do that over the internet.... Im actually really determined to make this happen. Maybe I will have to go somewhere IRL... Idk. I want to make a change.... Im really serious about this music stuff.....

Your right that the music sequencer can make masterpeices. I wrote a full song using it and now a producer is going to make a music video with it
But I'm fine with the instruments since all I need is bass, guitar, drums, and piano, but I do wish that they would sound better.
good luck creating a program and be sure to tell me when it's finished

Flamez: Exactly the same problem as mine. The programs are too complicated for me and LBP 2's music sequencer sucks. I have so much music in my head, but I cant make it reality.... 2012-09-02 15:32:00

The music sequencer is how I learned to make music. Like, I know nothing about playing on a keyboard, but moving notes with the controller is the easiest, simplest way of making music ever.2012-09-02 17:18:00

Making music is my hobby too. I started making some rap-instrumentals with fl studio and I'm stll using this programme. When I first stumpled upon the music sequencer in LBP2, there were many things similar to fl, so it wasn't very hard for me to get into it. I agree with you, that there should be more and - most important - better sounding instrumentals availlable for the sequencer!2012-09-08 18:59:00

I'm making my own soundtrack for my next level.

Problem is, I'm nowhere near as good as some of the well-known creators.... I'd say I'm an "adequate" music creator. I'm optimistic that the level will be my best level by far, but I'm a bit worried that my music will get hated on, because (like I said) it's nowhere near the quality of the well-known creators music. Should I still use my own music?

Covers are one thing, but unleashing your own original music upon the world is a terrifying prospect, especially for someone like me. I think my music is.... ok, but compared to what else is out there, it makes my music look very basic.
Nevertheless, despite how great the temptation is to use come awesome comishguy or Festerd_Jester (and others) music, I want mine to be unique. I plan on giving at least part of my soundtrack as a prize, but don't expect to hear any of my songs in anyone else's levels.
(Having said that, I have heard one of my tracks in TWO other levels. Though that track was a remix, was still a great moment for me)

I'm also planning to release a bunch of levels including a soundtrack totally composed by me, myself and I ...
But there are many titles that are not sounding right, yet. It's hard to compose something giving a special atmosphere, using some chords you may not use often. But you must, to generate that special flair in your levels and/or movies.

The learning & working never ends
