Hidden Images in Music

Archive: 7 posts

Anyone recall the event with the Fez soundtrack? When some pieces of the games songs were run through a spectogram (http://www.geek.com/articles/games/fez-soundtrack-contains-hidden-information-20120420/), they produced cryptic images, of which no one knows anything about at the moment.

Now, someone pointed out that this soundtrack from Machinarium (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AyvjrRS2ys) could likely produce the same result, as the audio of it is composed partway of static, noise that could be used to make the said images. The problem is, I don't have the software with a spectogram. So, would anyone like to try to obtain the file of this song, and run it through, and bring back results?

That's so cool! Someone commented on the Youtube video and said "it sounds like an image would be in here." Haha. I don't have the right program to do that though, but the Geek.com article mentioned a free program that could do that.2012-08-30 02:11:00

Yeah, it's called "Sonic Visualizer". I'd download it and do it for you, but I can't download any programs onto this computer, and I don't have the soundtrack. Sorry.

Okay, heres the link to the Sonic visualizer website: http://www.sonicvisualiser.org/

Ya, that's where I heard it from. I read over the Geek article, but I didn't notice the free program, I suppose I'll download it now and try it out, thanks for pointing it out.

EDIT: Well I checked, and I couldn't seem to find anything that looked like a secret of some sort. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/images/smilies/1/frown.gif But it was fascinating to see the audio in image form, very strange looking.

EDIT2: Well, there is a segment at the end where it sounds like radio is tuning, and you can hear faint voices, but I think they're speaking in Czech or something.

Nothing? That's too bad. I wonder if any other soundtracks would have something like that...2012-08-30 03:59:00

The most I've seen of such things is that silly Lavender Town creepy pasta.

Which was obviously a fluke.

I noises of a radio in a Ratman Den in Portal 2 produce an image with a Companion Cube on the moon, but I think everyone already knows that.2012-10-11 18:35:00
