Forest of the Wise Owl

Archive: 7 posts

Well, after fooling around with logics, making a bunch of Arwings and gravity-defying soda cans, and even making my own versus level of questionable quality; first level in LBP2 and all that, (http://lbp.me/v/d2w32p) I've decided to make a level inspired by the music piece 'Wise Owl' from the LBP1 music DLC.
It would basically be about the Wise Owl and his people living freely in a forest until a magical Imp comes along, claiming to be a god-like entity. He persuades the forest creatures into believing him, and they believe that they found a greater power. But this Imp simply wants all knowledge, and wishes to drain the area of it, thinking that's how the owl gained his knowledge. So he robs the forest dwellers of free will, and they are either imprisoned or enslaved. And you basically meet with the Wise Owl and take back the forest, and save everyone and what not.

I simply need to know how to make it so that my scenery doesn't give birth to overly-complicated shapes, and to make proper cutscenes in a level. :L

Any help at all is appreciated.

What is this?

Do I have a saxophone in my hands screencap of some progress on one of the story characters?

Well why not?

And now I need some help.

In the case of getting the animals from being brainwashed back to normal, I attempted to use a slim piece of material in the shape of the animal, and sandwich it between two thicker shapes of the same nature, and make it into a creature, so that when you struck the brain, the shell would be destroyed, but the slimmer material would be intact, making it look like it went from being a brainwashed psycho, back to a regular animal. But this is starting to get rather annoying to do repeatedly, as it gets tedious and I screw up quite a bit, including the fact that I sometimes glue all 3 pieces together without knowing, causing the whole thing to blow up when the brain is struck. Is there an easier way to do this?

You could use destroyers and set include rigid connections to no. If you still want to use creature brains you could make an invisible brace of material around the piece you want to isolate so it stays secure but isn't physically attached.

No problem, and thanks.

How do you envision the imp undermining and robbing the residents of the forest?

I wanted to do a sort of storybook-style flashback, to fit with my planned aesthesic.

...if I spelled that correctly. Or even used the right term for 'look'. :U
