PS3 or PSVita

Archive: 59 posts

If you can only choose one, the PS3 or the PSVita, which one would you choose to have LBP on? I'd personally choose the PSVita, because I don't think they'll replace that anytime soon, and you have more functions to create a level/play a level with it, (I.e. touchscreen), where as with the PS3, it doesn't have that, and they'll probably release the PS4 within the next two years or so. What is everyone elses opinion on this?2012-08-18 20:50:00

I have to go with both. They have their goods and bads. Here is what I mean:

LBP2's goods: Great online, lots of players, great DLC, expanded more from LBP1, better story costume parts.
LBP2's bads: Horrible story, spam on cool pages, copied levels, nothing new lately.
LBPV's goods: More tools, memorizer, touch, tilt, touch pad.
LBPV's bads: Took a year for release date, smaller screen, not many people have a Vita, little knowledge about the game, no online create.

This is why I go with both.

Well, soon, there will be a feature where you can play all of your PS3 games on your Vita and vice versa, so the Vita is a better buy because you can play all those games on the Vita once it comes out.2012-08-30 00:11:00

I read an article on GameInformer (I go on that a lot) and there was an article talking about the ability to play PS3 games on your Vita, and vice versa. It even showed a picture of Sly Cooper on the Vita.2012-08-31 01:58:00

Vita all the way.

I can't create on ps3. It takes me two years to create a level.

LBP on psp was just what I needed.

I like creating on a portable console, and being outside.

Nothing better for my creative juices than the fresh air and the sounds of nature.

Plus I can get away from the world and just do my own thing for a couple hours.

Nothing better.

Haha, then try to play Infamous 2 on your vita.

Ever Heard about Remote Play or Cross-Play?

Yes, it is possible to play PS3 games on the Vita, using Remote Play, but you still need to have a PS3. Also Sly Cooper will be playable on the Vita because it's a Cross-Play game, like MotorStorm RC or Wipeout 2048 for example. This means that not all the games you see on the PS3 will be playable for you on the Vita, unless you have a PS3.

Via remote play. PS Vita does not have the horse power to handle the workload of a PS3 game on it's own. You still need the PS3.

im guessing you never played the games. that's not all there is to sly cooper.

ok.
1. sly cooper is also on the vita.
2. you still need a ps3 for it.
what's the point of doing that? play ps3 games on ps3. you got to turn on your ps3 and then activate the thing so your vita can do that. but you realise...my ps3 is right there. cross controller will be important and not useless but it's a separate application. playing a ps3 on vita is like texting to a friend RIGHT BESIDE YOU.

Whos Sly Cooper?

that is just heartbreaking to the playstation 2 and 3 gamers. it's an awesome franchise. here is a tip. youtube it. LOL

but you still need a ps3 of it.
vita isn't strong enough to play ps3 games. it's close though but still.
it can show a crappy quality of ps3 in remote play using video or whatever but your ps3 needs to be on when you do this. also imagine how laggy it would turn out when they do this. technicaly it doesn't play ps3. your vita is a controller and you see crappy camera built in the ps3 to see what you are doing on the ps3 on the vita. the only use of it is when you are going to the bathroom. which that would take about 1-5 minute (depends) so unless if you go to the bathroom for hours then it would be useful...kinda.

Scroll down, and when you see a menu of the features, click on "cross platform play". That'll tell you what you can really do with your PS3 and PSVita.

doesn't mean anything. if you play wipeout 2048 on vita and hd on ps3, you can tell the frame rates. trust me, vita isn't powerful as ps3. i believe sony said that. also ps3 have huge horse power. the ps3 is huge compared to vita. also cross play is different. this is real stupid really. we should just stop argueing about this. why can't you play ps3 on ps3 and vita on vita? how simple is that? vita is not a ps3. don't be lazy and get up and play the ps3. besides, even if you could play ps3 games, you still need the l2 and r2 buttons which is used in EVERY ps3 game.2012-09-01 18:19:00

Okay, okay, back on topic! I personally think that there are much better games on the PS3 than on the Vita (Uncharted, inFamous, Motorstorm, Journey, Jak & Daxter etc.). Don't forget about the upcoming games like The Last Of Us, God of War IV or Beyond: Two Souls. The PS3 has much better graphics and more power than the Vita. Also, it's better to play on a big screen than on a small 5" screen and you don't need any additional memory cards.

I prefer to buy a PS3 for now.

Eh, its alright, but it isn't the best. 3 is way better though. The only new thing in it it all of the touch, tilt, rear touch, etc. features. There are little mini games that you get to play, like unlocking a fence, or using chalk and paper to scribble a picture on it, or to dust off an ancient artifact, like a helmet or skull. The only acception is that it is kinda hard to aim your gun, cause you can use tilt to aim, and it kinda messes up your aiming sometimes.

im sure they ment you get the ps3 version and you get a free downloadable vita version. since you could do that now... I never trust game websites and magizines cause they always predict what will happen and when. just trust me....TRUST ME!!! :kz: lol the vita can't carry so many gb the ps3 haves to offer for 1 game. take infamous for example. it's like 7 or 8 gb. none of the vita games come close to that. either way you still need the ps3 in order to "transfer" to vita. besides. you are playing a ps3 game on the vita. so ps3 still wins the battle until vita gets more of its own games.

I think we should stop saying which is better. as they said in some of their cross-play commericals, they are partners. so the vita and ps3 works together as a team to make both of them even better. it's like the concept of wii u.

They will probably find a way. Like I said, it is gonna be in the future. And what with Sunbunny23 said about getting them, they will probably transfer, and not be a free download. They might find a way to make them like a portable game. Its probably being developed as we speak.2012-09-04 22:40:00

Just for LBPVita? If you want other games then you'd have to go with the PS3 at the moment. But if you want it JUST for LBPVita then I'd have to go with a Vita. There are just too many really useful additions in the Vita version to avoid. You don't just have the traditional controllers either, you have touch. And don't underestimate the fact that the Vita has a built in microphone and camera.2012-09-09 16:43:00

Yup, I've got both the Vita and PS3 Versions of LBP (LBP2 and LBPV) and I definitely enjoy creating on the Vita more. If you are just looking for a game console in general you have to go with the PS3, but LBP is definitely better on the Vita.

In fact, I thought the story levels were significantly better on Vita than they were on the PS3 as well.

Uhmmm... To be honest, I'd stick to LBP2. True, I'm spending a ridiculous amount of time in Vita lately, and I plan continuing doing so, but LBP2 is so much comfortable to me, has still lots of porential, "better" tools, an awesome community already; and if I had to choose between one of them, it would be LBP2.2012-10-18 02:51:00

The only reason I use LBPV more is because of the portability. I cannot create large projects on lbp2 because I often get bored and can't work on it whenever I feel like it.2012-10-21 00:04:00

I personnaly would get a psvita. I currently dont have one, but I have a ps3. And when I had a ps2 and received the psp, i used a lot more the PSP. Why?

Portability. And the "same" games as ps2.

PS3 is fun, but thinking about carrying the potencial of PS3 anywhere, its just, wow!

Here's some pros and cons:

In PSVITA, you don't have so many games as PS3 ("temporary" problem )
The PSVITA as almost the same processing power as PS3, concluding, PS3 quality games
PSVITA don't have an in-console (lol what?) multiplayer mode for games (at least, I don't ever saw that), so it is more cheap to buy a PS3 control than another PSVITA
Had you ever tried to go in a car ride throught the country and played PS3 in the car? Or be in the hospital and be playing LBP 2 or GT5? PSVITA brings you that portability. (I know its possible to put a PS3 in the car, but its a pain in the ***, and switching car->home it's not very healthy for the PS3)
Did the electricity of the neighbourdhood (I think its this way its write) went out? Besides the portability, the PSVITA also offers 3G internet connection! (Well, atleast the 3G model).
Typing in the browser or in-game. Did you try it in the PS3 without a keyboard? Its very boring to have to go from one side to the other of the on-screen keyboard. A touchscreen would be very handy very handy in that moments, huh?

So, as you may see, in MY opinion the PSVITA is very good at some points, and PS3 best in anothers.

As said before, if I could, I would definitely get a PSVITA.

Now the rest, its your decision.

Note: About point 4, you have another two alternatives, this:
42459

Or this:

42460

Who remember the second one?
