Nintendo 64? I has it.

Archive: 23 posts

Yup. I has one.
All I have is Mario 64, Pokemon Stadium, Banjo (looking for tooie! and Extreme G. (came with it)
I just want a thread where we can talk about it.
If we get enough people we could start a social group.
First thing's first: Which N64 game is you're favorite?
Mine's Banjo-Kazooie.
Dunno, just liked the gameplay.

Here's my favorite N64 games (no real order)

-Mario 64
-Banjo Kazooie
-Ocarina of Time
-Doom 64
-Rush 2
-Paper Mario
-Quake 64
-Mario Tennis
-Starfox 64
-Diddy Kong Racing
-StarWars Shadows of The Empire
-Zelda Majora's Mask
-Perfect Dark
-F-Zero X

.

Some of those games have never been surpassed in their genre even today for me. Like Starfox64, F-Zero and Diddy Kong Racing.

I have and still play my N64 on a regular basis. The only cart I never got that I always wanted was Conker's Bad Fur day... I got Paper Mario last year on the Wii virtual console.

I don't think there has been a better FPS than Goldeneye or Perfect Dark in the last 10 years. I have too many N64 games than I'd care to count or list right now, my only complaint with the console is that the analog sticks are skinny and lose resistance really, really fast - especially with all those games that make you spin it around.

I remember Ogre Battle 64... It was a stratey game for the 64... was quite good as a matter of fact as console rtses go, and it had a very good story... was pretty much the only RPG on the 64, and did I mention it had a cool story? :/2009-01-11 00:20:00

-Zelda: OoT. Will never be topped. If anyone is too young to have played it as a kid when it first came out, then you are missing one of the defining moments of childhood. Simple as that. Me and my brother got a N64 and Zelda for Christmas and the entire Kokori Forest was a magical experience that said "This is the best game you will ever play."

- Perfect Dark. Played this a bunch. Awesome guns, insane bots, and just a fun multiplayer game.

- Super Smash Bros. Do I really need to explain? It's Smash!

- WCW vs. NWO: Revenge. Insane multiplayer fun. It had tons of wrestlers, make-your-own wrestler, weapons, special moves, funny glitches and animations that you could abuse, and high flying dives. Getting your tag team partner to hold somebody up on their shoulders while you do a flying clothesline is awesome.

- Conker's Bad Fur Day. OMG, I managed to play this when I was 13. Really funny game with fun, violent multiplayer with lots of cool modes.

Perfect Dark probably has the best replay value of any non-sandbox game I've ever played... There is just so much content! And it's all quality.

Zelda OoT is just... there aren't words to do it justice.

Played conker when you were 6!? Eek! That is definitely not a game for children! lol.

But ****, those were some of true gaming's last days. I still have and play all gen game consoles with the exception of the Atari 2600 that met its untimely death when I stepped on it...

I think it's really related to the age you have when you play some games the first time. Personally i've played "A Link To The Past" on the SNES when I was like 13-14 years old and Ocarina didn't beat the feeling I had back then. I'm adamant at ALTTP like many youngner gamers are towards Ocarina.

i know what you mean by magical expierence that was same with me for ocarina of time. there were lots of games with that feeling. but i think being younger was somehow part of it too. i also had a magical feeling playing Dark cloud 1 when i was little. well not too little probaly when i was 7 maybe2009-01-11 04:39:00

You know... I commit an ongoing crime against humanity by never owning an ALTTP cart for the SNES; I had to borrow it from my friend way back when, and never did play it to completion.

You guys know what's really funny and sad? I play my N64 and SNES more than I play my Wii.... (I never had the first NES, would always freeload off of my friends for that one) . Ever since I got my PS3 the gimmick of the Wii fell completely flat. Too many classics for those consoles that can't be topped well over a decade later, and I'm sure I'll be playing them a decade from NOW!

I have one, have 4 games for it. Decent console, but if I would've known the Wii could play its games I would've held out, I haven't touched the gamecube in years.

Tell me about it man. Many of my favorite games ever are on the NES and SNES era. At that time in my life (from 7 years old to like 16) I had nothing better to do than play games in the week-ends. Oh the countless hours I did spend on those consoles!

Today I still own my NES, SNES and their original cartridge but It's not plugged in the my living room because Composite Cable connected devices looks totally horrible on my HDTV. I use the Virtual Console alot on my Wii though. Playing those old games perfectly emulated + Component Cables quality of image is nice!!
