LBP Diablo

Not sure if this has been accomplished yet, but I'm taking a shot at it. By far, this is my most ambitious project yet. It's not aiming to be exactly like Diablo, but incorporate some of the features. Here's what I have so far...

* Random dungeon generator: It will be a unique dungeon every time you play!
* Timer-based health and mana bars, with a working means of spending mana on spells, as well as slowly regenerating mana.
* health and mana potions.
* Bombs for destroying walls to reach inaccessible areas
* Camera adjusts angle when you're near a wall for better visibility.

I am currently working on magic spells. The big project is going to be coming up with enemies. I'm hoping to create a variety; some that use melee attacks, some that use magic.

Thermo permitting, I want to make this a 1-4 player game, and maybe even allow the player to choose between melee or magic user.

Well tbh Iv never played Diablo, so i cant give much Advice and suggestions, Im like a logic guy hat just gets told what "x" Needs to do and then make "x" do what they have asked me to make "x" do. Is this top down or side-scrolling, because Diablo is top down

I love these mechanics like random dungeons and RPGs with skills and such. These kinda Zelda elements with the bombs to get to different areas and the cinematic view changes around doors are really cool ideas too.
I can't wait for more details on this. It's a long process indeed..

I'm sure my thread for my project Bound could serve as a decent reference on some of these mechanics. It's a side scrolling hack & slash RPG with some Diablo-like loot elements and random dungeon generation too.

It is top-down, like Diablo. Currently, my plan is to have the player (it's already getting too complicated to make it multiplayer, but I will still research that possibility) travel from floor to floor, each floor being a randomly generated dungeon. It has to be small enough that I can generate the second one while the first is being played, and so on. There will be no going backwards, as I will have to destroy the first to generate the next.

Some more added features include simple spell progression; you can't use a spell until you learn it. I have 4 spells created so far; fireball, fear, poison gas and heal.

Posting some pics; very excited about how it's turning out. A big thanks to my co-creator, illestmuzic for help in this department.

These first 2 pics are samplings of what part of a dungeon layout might look like. Keep in mind, these pics do not include decorations yet, and each floor is actually a fair bit bigger than these pics can show.

Each floor is a 10 x 10 grid, composing of randomly emitted sections. I have some decorated sections that will be randomly emitted as well.

I couldn't show a few of them because for some reason, some of the decorations aren't showing up in play mode, but there is more coming.

EDIT: We figured out the problem..apparently, if you place a decoration on top of a chip or other logic, it doesn't show up in play mode. Go figure. Thank you Jaeden for pointing that out.
