Drawing Custom Stickers
Archive: 4 posts
I was quick to get the Move Pack for LBP2 but I found the move controller unreliable and a bit dodgy when it came to drawing custom stickers. I'm feeling confident that the touch screen will undoubtably make drawing stickers in LBPV a lot easier but I'm wondering if there might be anyway to use a pen tool (like that of the DS) to draw mega-accurately. Does anyone know how possible this might be? I've experimented using a DS stylus with no luck and can only assume that the surface area isn't wide enough. | 2012-08-15 19:36:00 Author: bossveg Posts: 47 |
The Vita's screen is a bit different to the DS, rather than changes in pressure it's activated via an electrical charge being transferred between the screen and the user, so switching to a wider plastic stylus won't make any difference. You'll need to get a special 'Capacitive Stylus'. Most of them tend to be quite big and are generally only worth using to avoid fingerprints, but I have seen a few that are transparent and allow you to see through the nib at what you're drawing. I've no idea if or how well they work with the Vita though. | 2012-08-15 22:44:00 Author: Kiminski Posts: 545 |
If you're feeling crafty, you could always make your own stylus. Try searching sites (like Instructables under "DIY Capacitive Stylus", for example) for how-to-dos. | 2012-08-17 19:22:00 Author: dal-n-pok Posts: 28 |

That has two thin layers that are connected when touched and then the grid position is calculated. The 'capacitive' method that's used in the Vita uses signal strength instead. these signals are calculated from one edge (across) and one edge (down). you want this but there are thousands more on the market. Just make sure you look for 'capacitive': http://www.amazon.com/BoxWave-EverTouch-Capacitive-Stylus-Touchscreen/dp/B000BUI76S If the drawing feature in LBPVita isn't there then I'm going to have to think it's deliberately been left out; either because it will be in some DLC later on or because they don't want creators to be able to make quality stickers of their own. | 2012-08-17 21:43:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |
