The Circus [PROLOGUE]
Archive: 9 posts
The prologue to a new movie series by me. Full details can be found HERE (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=73197-A-Carnival-Of-Madness&p=1033531#post1033531), at the actual project thread, where you can find character bios and the basic story-line. We are introduced to the owner and ringleader of a circus, but there is something odd and out-of-place about it. It's short because of overheating, so the next part will follow on as a level link. Update- Fixed ending so now it just fades to black, hopefully. Also the music at the end is fixed and the game ender comes in quicker. | 2012-08-16 17:07:00 Author: craigmond Posts: 2426 |

Not much to say actually due to it being insanely short. I thought the scenery was good, especially that outside scene. The story seemed interesting, but it was only like 2 seconds long D; (under exaggeration is under exaggerated) The music fit well with the creepy-ish atmosphere but I thought it was a bit loud (probably just me though) F4F this... https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=73268-Improper-Backgrounds-(1-player-only) I kinda want to know how this overheated. Was it because of the sackbots?... :O Oh and I'll watch part two (or.. part 1) whenever it comes out. | 2012-08-18 08:15:00 Author: morris6267 Posts: 144 |
The overheating was mainly due to the sackbots yeah, I managed to cut the thermo down by giving some the same costume and it worked a little. I used a lot of different materials too so yeah, I wanted to do more but I couldn't really do another full scene, so I left it like that to leave some tension. The next part won't be as short because most of what happens in part two doesn't happen in front of the crowd | 2012-08-18 12:04:00 Author: craigmond Posts: 2426 |
This was a good start. I was a bit thrown off by the lack of a moving mouth and voice sounds (due to your use of subtitles) but I know that the gibberish voices of LBP can get annoying when there is a lot of it. I think that the "and many, many more!" should be reworded to "and much, much, more!" to help keep the flow of the dialogue (that's just my opinion though. I really like the night sky above the circus tent though... A lot of detail there. All in all its a great start. I look forward to the next installment in the series. As for the F4F, if you could check out my Metal Gear Sackboy thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=72941-Metal-Gear-Sackboy-Unraveling-Stitches) and play through one (or both) of my levels I'd appreciate it. Constructive feedback is always welcome. Thanks! | 2012-08-18 16:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
A very nice prologue! The set is nice, and so was the lighting. I liked the changing shots on the ringmaster, that really kept it from getting boring. It was a little short, but it was a prologue, so I shouldn't be complaining. I can't wait to see the rest. :hero: | 2012-08-19 16:20:00 Author: Sackpapoi Posts: 1195 |
Hey man! This is a great little intro movie you made. The art design is fantastic, and the story, albeit short, is very cool so far. The camera work is simply awesome. I am just getting into the lbp2 tools, so I was in wonder at how you moved the cameras around, and got such cinematic shots. Very polished work. I know it must take alot of time to pull something off like that. Looking forward to the rest! Hearted. <3 | 2012-08-22 23:10:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |
