Wave of LittleBigPlanet Vita Previews

Archive: 44 posts

Hello, Sacknation!

I mentioned that at last several days in the Internet were published several articles for some new preview version of LittleBigPlanet Vita. All of them described about ten story level, so it is not old beta version. Here is one example - http://www.godisageek.com/2012/08/littlebigplanet-vita-preview/ . Google will help you to find several others.

And here are new screenshots (spoilers warning!)

I think there's some reviewers who are getting the full version to test out(I've seen some video's too... )
The tutorials are looking great and fun,And i like what they did with the arcade world in the background it's probably a moving motion (and I'm assuming there's something similar to it in the other worlds...)

this is misleading though. It's only costumes:

At least costumes from LBP1, 2, and Karting transfer (LBP2, LBPV, and LBPK all share costume parts, but not levels kits for complex reasons.)2012-08-21 22:26:00

Well we know that they having to tinker with the costumes to make them compatible with ALL LBP games, so you have to ask yourself why they can't tinker with the materials, stickers and decorations too. I have to call it as I see it and I believe it's so that they can make money from the exclusive packs for LBPVita and Karting. I'm not angry about this, they have to make money to support the games2012-08-22 00:44:00

Tinker to do what? Import them from LBP? But why would they wanna do that? I mean,In LBP 2 you can't find ALL of the decoration,Stickers (And maybe materials?) From LBP 1,Right? Beside, If they would just copy all the decoration's and the stickers it would show lack of effort,And it wouldn't be fun to have the same design options from LBP 2,We wanna see new stuff...But a DLC pack to get some decorations and stickers from LBP2 would be reasonable...

saldy no saved costumes you made.

Would be pretty useless if it's just the DLC's...

EDIT: BTW i really wanna see the intro video for LBPV... I wish one of the preview guys would show it...The pictures of it seems pretty cool...

It's awhile in the video.

I think that's the achievements system,You can set all kind of achievements like a score achievement...

No,You won't get ANY costumes unless you bought a DLC to get them.

No there is a reward system for points at the scoreboard now. It's a brand new feature introduced in LBP Vita. You can set a point set, and if the player reaches that score and submits it at the scoreboard, you can be awarded prizes just like ace level prizes or collect them all prizes.

I did this with my "Zombie Fling" level, giving players logic to use in their own levels if they beat my score of 5000 points. Very cool feature

Also...sucks you can't bring LBP1 or LBP2 story costumes over. I like those costumes more than the DLC.

Ya,I think that's the achievement system...I'm not sure.

During the main Story Mode, somes levels have a specific set of three Level Achievements to earn during the level.
This can range anywhere between completing the level in a certain time, to collecting a full set of hidden items during a playthrough or even finishing the level above a certain score.
Best of all though! This feature is available on Community Levels too!
Creators will be able to set up to three Level Achievements on their own levels for players to complete!
So if you're a fan of side-quests or giving players additional tasks to complete, then you will love coming up with a selection of unique Level Achievements for players to complete in your level!

So there's all kind of different achievements is the story mode,Maybe in create mode you can only set the "achievement" To be a score system...Or was there a time option/more achievements when tweaking the score board? I didn't bother looking for this features in the beta...

Personally, I think that DLC costumes are the best, but LBP1 has some decent costume parts. The ones from LBP2 were just horrible.

@ yhthyth...thyh

I think you may be referring to the challenging system. You can now challenge your friends to beat your scores. I think it uses NEAR too.

As for a seperate achievement system, there wasn't anything like that in the beta, so unless they added it idk. There's just another option for the scoreboard that allows you to add a score limit prize. It's like a seperate row on the scoreboard tweak menu to add 3 prizes and set the score to whatever you want.

Edit: Yeah after looking over your second quote, that doesn't sound like anything I saw in the beta, must be a new feature. Looks really cool too, I'm glad they're adding time trial like events to the game, that'll be a fun reason to replay levels.

@amoney1999

I liked the LBP2 costumes very much. They were fun and crazy and you could make some bright and colorful characters with them. I loved the animated skins and goofy glasses and such. The LBP1 costumes have some great original looks to them too. Like a Roman Soldier or a Pirate.

The DLC costumes are all just advertising for other games and movies though. There's only a handful of actual costumes that aren't based off of other characters.

The only reason I don't like them is because they just aren't my kind of costume part. All I really use from story is the sun glasses with the heart light on it. Everything else just didn't fit with what I make. If you looks at my costume levels, you will only see like 1 or 2 costume parts from the story. The rest is either DLC or LBP1 (I own nearly half the DLC in the game).

Sorry its a little off topic, thought I may as well clarify this! Well, theres a few default ones and indeed having a certain amount of points is one of them : ) Scoreboards also have multiple inputs now so you can basically hook any logic up to them to give you rewards. Like, did you find all the secrets type of thing?

Could you give us a list of extra logic tweaks? I know that AND gates and OR gates now have alternative settings and wondered if there were any more and what form they took.

Another'n': http://gamingnexus.com/Article/LittleBigPlanet-Vita/Item3609.aspx

again, a mistake. Don't get excited, it's just costumes:

Players will be able to share a variety of content between the console and Vita versions of the game, including downloaded costumes and building materials. Levels should also be accessible on both platforms thanks to the forthcoming firmware patch which will allow the Vita to serve as a controller for your PlayStation 3.

I'm just glad we know how we do Cross-Controller. If you haven't already, update your Vita to 1.80 NOW!!!!!!!!!! It adds more feats, like GPS, and you can now access Cross-Controller from Remote-Play, so LBP2 shouldn't be the only game with Cross-Controller.2012-08-29 22:34:00
