just wait. good things come to those who wait. better wait than being a noob and advertise it to every level.2012-08-09 20:49:00

Patience is the trick. Like sunbunny said, don't make a habit of advertising obnoxiously on others' levels, but DO advertise in the right productive ways, such as making a thread, getting people to put your levels up on YouTube, or having connections such as hearts or friends. They usually get the level up and running for you if they all happen to play it and like it. Also keep in mind the TIME you publish a new level. Some days are more high-traffic than others, so you may just get lucky and get a lot of plays! Even thousands if it picks up. It happens, believe me.
Yeah, the CP isn't the best thing around, and everybody is aware of that, but if you look, there are better levels than you think in many places. I still use the CP. I don't mind it, most of the levels aside from the costume levels and over-copied and dull levels are actually fun. Sometimes you can make LBP seem less fun than it truly is by just thinking it.
So don't get so worked up, LBP can be frustrating indeed, but so can everything else in the world. :hero: So just take a break from it or take a load off, because it's a game, and it's meant to be fun.

I am always looking for new levels to play and I really enjoy playing one that members of LBPC share,
I know I can speak for many people when I say that I would be happy to play your levels

Just dont give up, the system isnt perfect and many good creators do get missed :/
But like it has been said before, advertise your levels on sites like this and you will hopefull gain more players (like myself)

No sense crying about a lack of plays if you're going to half heart your level presentation -
On your LBP.me profile, your Level Badge Stickers are either default stickers or aren't correctly scaled to fit inside the Badge.
You've no descriptions or uploaded photos for people to gain an insight into your level.
And you haven't bothered to create any LBPC Level Showcase threads.

You said you spend months on a level, but if that's the case, why does the Level Info seem to have been slapped together at the last minute?
If you don't care about your levels, why should anyone else? Recognition requires the drive to present yourself to the community!

Ostler's right, presentation is key and first impressions are important. It doesn't matter how good your levels are, if at first glance they look like something made in 5 minutes, they'll never rise above the tons of crappy spam levels that no one cares to play.

Make your planet look good. Don't make it look like a mess of random decorations and stickers. Use color combinations and lightning settings that go easy on the eyes (I once saw a planet whose background was so bright I couldn't read anything on the screen). Make a level badge that is easily readable, an image that relates to the theme of your level and captures the interest of players. Come up with a non-generic title, thoughtful description, accurate tags and exciting screenshots. And use correct grammar and spelling.

When the level's done advertise but do it through the right channels. Create a thread in the Showcase section of LBPC and in other LBP fan sites. Put links on your forum signature. Message your friends on PSN. Or give constructive feedback to other players' levels, without asking anything in return, sometimes that's enough to make them return the favor. Do not, under any circumstance, beg for plays, hearts or spam advertise on other people's levels. That's extremely annoying and won't get anyone to help you.

Lets take a look at your situation...

You have been a member here since 12/2009 and never have made a level showcase for any of your levels. ...and you are upset by the lack of plays.
Hmmmm.... yeah, not making the connection at all there.

If you don't use the tools available here then yup.. yer gonna have a bad time. Utilize F4F on your level thread (assuming you actually go and make one) and be proactive. By that, I mean go and play other F4F level threads and leave detailed constructive feedback for them. The kind that you want... Not like "Hey nice level, now play mine". Make it detailed listing what you liked, what could be improved etc... Actually leave feedback to help them improve and polish their level THEN and only THEN, ask for them to check out your level to honor their F4F. Then do that same thing to as many levels as humanly possible. Not just 2 or 3 times. Do it TONS!! This gets a great deal of feedback to help you improve as a creator.

You need FEEDBACK... not plays. Until you get really good at creating levels that folks enjoy, PLAYS MEAN NOTHING!

I have said this zillions of times on threads like these. ...fact is, most make threads like these in lieu of actually doing any work like I have suggested in an attempt to get plays. The only good way to get what you need is what I have suggested, both here on LBPC and any other fan site that you might be a member.

Good luck!

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. If you had fun making the level and think it's good, then good for you, that's great. But there are simply too many levels (more than 7 million!) for everyone to get recognised. The most plays I have is 1,461, which is tiny compared to the Cool Pages, and I published that level 2 years 8 months ago (28/11/2009).

However, my more recent levels have gained around 250 plays in a shorter amount of time because, as many others have said, I've advertised my levels here and participated in F4F. Put time in it yourself and other people will to.

Yay, a new level! Looking forward to checking it out.

What you should do at this point is create a thread in the Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) forum, and don't forget to use F4F. Let me know when your thread is up and I'll give it a play.

Also, it looks like this thread has run its course so I'm going to go ahead and lock it.
