Well, I haven't done any except these latest two for about 2 years, probably a little less. I did a lot before that though. In hindsight, they really weren't that good though, it just seems like everything has suddenly clicked.

@Boomy: C4Ds can be used for whatever you want, really. I think "What would look good here?" then I look for a C4D that would achieve that effect. I then insert it as a layer, and typically get rid of the background, unless the background would be appropriate. Then I place it and put it on Overlay, Screen, something like that and change the opacity to suit the picture. I think this one has about 4 C4Ds in it.

@Boomy: No, I used the Spark brush to achieve those effects. If you look way on the left, the red dots are a part of one of the C4Ds I used. There's a lighter shade of red that is overlaying some of the hair, that too is a piece of one of the C4Ds. On the cape you can see lots of oval disks, that too is a C4D. None of the others can really be discerned by explanation.

DarkGod13, I've kinda finished your sig. It turns out dark sigs are lots harder than light sigs, so it took me a while and I'm still not sure if I like it. I'll let you be the judge. If you don't like it, let me know why and I'll do my best. Oh, and I'll make your matching avatar tomorrow or maybe later tonight.

Sonic, I was thinking about how I should do your sig today, and an amazing idea occurred to me. I couldn't remember if the render was a front shot or not though, and if it wasn't, my idea wouldn't work. However, turns out it was, so your sig should look great. Unless something goes wrong. If you like making your own, you have GOT to check out Apophysis. It's a free fractal flame render engine that I use occasionally and it ROCKS!

Yeah I've seen Apophysis, but those are fractals, not c4ds. C4Ds are made in Cinema 4d(C4D), thus the name. It's more of a 3d design engine, quite different from Apophysis, which I could never really get or enjoy.

No separate render engines, but yes, render times can be quite lengthy.

Well, if you're using GIMP, you right click a layer and choose layer mask. What it does is, wherever the mask is white the image is blocked out and wherever the mask is black you can see the image. Not sure what colors on the mask would do, I haven't tried it.
