Honestly I'm interested in the hero movies that we haven't seen. Antman, Black Panther, Inhumans, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange have my interest more than the sequels. Although I can't deny how hyped I am for GotG2.

Truth be told I don't know much about Inhumans, Captain Marvel, or Doctor Strange, but I'm thinking the movies should still be good. I do know about Antman and Black Panther, but that's because of cartoons featuring them...

They said that Black Panther would debut in CA: Civil War. I'm thinking that we'll see a lot of other new characters in that movie as well.2014-11-02 14:33:00

The idea of it was good, but from what I hear they just made it bad. Like, they made Iron Man and the pro registration side's side too much of jerks and stuff. IDK. I see no reason why they can't make it work out well, though
Pretty much this. The movies have done a decent job making themselves good on their own so as long as they don't suddenly feel like the source material is sacred, they can smooth out the wrinkles a bit.

It's ironic because Civil War all but destroyed Iron Man's reputation within the Marvel fandom while the first Iron Man movie was what essentially redeemed it. So...full circle I guess? I'm not quite sure how they could make a straight adaptation of Civil War in regards to the cinematic incarnation of Tony Stark anyway since him being a pro-regulation guy makes even less sense than it did in the comics. Hell, him being against government regulation and the potential for his tech being misused as a result was the entire point of Iron Man 2 and Winter Soldier fully justified that point of view. Not only that, but SHIELD being only a shadow of its former self and now run by Coulson makes such an adaptation even more problematic. Then again, a guy could change a lot given time and with Ultron on the horizon I'm wondering what sort of effect that will have on Tony's priorities. I just hope they avoid the "Iron Man and Maria Hill: FACISTS" aspects of the original story.

As wary as I am about all that, I am looking forward to most of the rest of the movies, though the entire lineup does seem ridiculously bold and ambitious to the point where I have to wonder if Marvel Studios can maintain the momentum all the way through. If they can make Thor: Ragnarok even a quarter as good as the original Walt Simonson comic storyline it would be incredible and I am curious who they'll get to play Captain Marvel (Katee Stackoff seems like a popular dream casting choice among the fandom). Also, Captain Marvel and Inhumans aside, I imagine that year between Infinity War I and II might prove to be unbearable.

I don't think they can and I think that's why they're pushing out all these major storylines (Civil War, Ragnarok and Infinity War). Many of the films release a month or two after the previous one to leave a significant gap over the later and earlier months. After The Winter Soldier, it started to feel saturated, luckily Gotg was a brilliant film, but last week I was craving for a new Marvel film.

Because all the films tie into the same continuity, it makes it really difficult to miss one film, I can skip a film but then I wouldn't want to see the next one until I had seen the previous. I'm confident that Age of Ultron is likely to break $2bn but I do not think that Avengers 3 part 1 or 2 will make anywhere near as much. Although, my opinion is likely to change given that I'm currently feeling the Marvel fatigue after the recent announcement.

tl;dr
I think marvel is expecting box office revenues to decline in the later part of phase 3 and I expect they'll stop pushing out three (or even 2) films a year after A:IW pt2.

Having missed (or at least watched some films out of order) I can say it doesn't really matter that much.2014-11-05 17:01:00

So...has anyone else been watching Agents of SHIELD as of late?

It's fairly common knowledge that the first season was held back largely due to having its big reveal postponed until around the time of the Winter Soldier and afterwards the quality of the show increased dramatically.

The second season seems to be doing something similar, though this time they seem to be playing a longer game and apparently setting the stage for Inhumans. And to the show's credit, the season does seem to be better overall than the last even before the Winter finale.

I'm really enjoying SHIELD this season. It started off a it rocky, almost cringing like some parts of season 1 but it's quality increased pretty fast and pretty dramatically. Loving the direction their taking, can't wait for the UK to catch up to the US episodes.2014-12-13 22:00:00

The Half Season finale of Shield... WOW

Shame we have to wait 4 months ;-;

Not too excited about Agent Carter honestly. Just seems random and out of place

Hayley Atwell's tweets about the subject are pure gold, though. I kind of feel like the idea itself is strong enough to carry a television series, but we'll see how it goes. Never got into Agents of SHIELD, but to me, Agent Carter seems exactly like what I want it to be.

The hype of the news has passed but Sony and Marvel reached a deal that brings Spider-Man into the MCU, gives him another reboot and pushes most films back a slot.2015-02-16 17:18:00

Hush now, Spidey. Sony won't be able to hurt you anymore.

It's going to be alright, all alright. Just, shh...

Except that Sony is still technically making the solo movies, and Marvel will have no say in the spin off movies.

Which is dumb because it means Marvel doesn't control everything in their own universe. And I don't want the MCU to just have randomness that isn't properly contained :/

Looking at the wording of the announcement Marvel has a say but Sony gets final creative control.

From this day on, every time Sony releases a new Spidey-related trailer, movie or other product, I'll just ignore it and watch Grease instead. Then I'll wait for people to casually fill me in on what I avoided, after which I'll laugh on the outside while crying internally.

Then I'll end the entire ordeal by writing about it on forums and YouTube comments, after which I'll wait for the next Sony-released Spidey-thing, when I'll get to repeat this.

Why? Because I just care too much to give a dang.

I like how the Falcon is in the credits.

Was worried he wouldn't be in. Despite that not making sense. After all, why wouldn't Captain America let him in their super secret boy band?

Ant-Man gets a sequel some other films move.

Following our hero’s debut adventure in this summer’s “Ant-Man,” Scott Lang will return alongside Hope Van Dyne on July 6, 2018 with Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” The sequel will mark the first Marvel Studios film named after its heroine.

Additionally, Ant-Man’s second adventure will lead to a couple of other films shifting their dates, with Marvel’s “Black Panther” moving up to February 16, 2018 and Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” landing on March 8, 2019.

Finally, three untitled Marvel Studios films will premiere on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020.

Black Panther lands in the middle of black history month. I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or a very good marketing stratagem.2015-10-08 20:28:00
