Earlier today I started getting this "Recent changes to profile could not be saved due to an unknown error" message popping up at top of screen in a black bubble. This is happening on 2 of my LBP profiles. The second one where this first started was a copied LBP2 profile that I copied this morning to my new profile from my main, so I then got off and switched to my main PSN/LBP profile and the same is happening there. When I get off and get back on any photos, pod/costume decoring, and well anything I did before won't be there. Is this LBP's way of telling you your profile limit is reached and you need to delete some levels from your moon to clear space? Or is this something else, or has anyone had this happen? I know in LBP1 how it just shows a constant globe in bottom left and things start not saving, but I never ran out of space in 2 yet since I always back up levels and delete from moon but haven't done that as much as I use to so my moon has been getting crowded lately.

Yes this happened to me in the past: what it means is you have corrupted your profile, have you saved any back ups? if so then you will have to import it because right now your profile is broken If you haven't made any backups then you will have to delete the saved data and make a new one! This is why it is always important to make back ups in littlebigplanet 2

Great. Yeah, I backed it up before I copied to new user, but when I got on the new user and imported is when I started getting the error almost as if backing it up corrupted it. First thing I did before I copied to new user is copied to Cloud storage via PS Plus subscriber's free online storage. This took forever by the way as if it was having troubles saving to Cloud, then I copied to new user. So yeah I made a backup but backing up seems to be what caused it. So I'm not even sure if importing will work.

It's a nasty bug that seems to hit me whenever I open community gift attachments. I don't know what causes it, since it seems to be different for each person affected by it, but deleting stuff to reduce your profile size will not remedy the situation. Once the bug hits you, your profile effectively has terminal cancer and the only thing you can do is load a back up. However in rarer cases, I've heard some people say that even loading their most recent back up which seemed to be "clean" at the point when they saved still made no difference. You may be out of luck. I always keep multiple back up saves (ten of them) on a rotation, and it's saved my skin more than once before.

Almost every time I get that error thingy, I just wait till it goes away. After a day or so (for me) It goes away every time!

Well it seemed to fix itself as I was about to delete and import older profile from July 9th. I'm not sure if it just fixed itself out of nowhere or if it fixed from my PS3 restoring file system after LBP froze after I left friend's moon storing stuff I didn't want to lose, and I had to hard reset PS3. Just when I was about to delete and import an old profile from July 9th it fixed itself, and this was after I spent a good hour or 2 storing stuff I didn't want to lose from the past month into 4 different levels filled up on a friend's moon who was nice enough to wait while I did all that. Almost every time I get that error thingy, I just wait till it goes away. After a day or so (for me) It goes away every time! Yeah, mine went away on its own too, but not sure if it had to do with what I mentioned above.

From experience, this problem will not go away by itself. It will keep popping up unless you take action. With my profile, it got to the stage that even previously working backups would be corrupted when I imported them. Clear ALL the rubbish from your profile. This includes: -All community objects. -Any created objects you don't need. -Unwanted photos. -Any levels on your earth that have already been published. -Any large levels that you're working on? Split them up into smaller parts. Check the size of your profile. My profile used to be over 9mb, but after deleting a load of crap, I was able to half it! Make sure you backup your profile, and levels - you can double-backup the levels by saving them to your HDD, and also by publishing locked versions onto your earth (see my profile - technically have 9 published levels - but 5 of these are backups). Be vigilant, and dividends will be reaped.
