Would you recreate your LBP2 levels to the Vita?

Archive: 13 posts

I have been asking this for myself (even if I don't have any published levels yet lol) for quite a time already.

Would you make all (or your most famous) levels again in the new LBP Vita?

I thought about making this when LBP PSP first appeared, but as it only had 2 layers, and much more technical limitations, that possibility of all those remakes was near impossible.
But now again, with the release of LBP Vita, it is supposed that everything you can make in LBP2 without including stuff from DLCs can be made in the LBPVita, so, would you like to recreate your levels with a Vita twist (all those touch controls) on them, or would you like to make something new?

Also, do you think LBPVita will "replace" LBP2? If it is the same, but Vita is portable... Will Vita's version replace the PS3's version?

no, they're just not good enough to be honest. The more level picks I queue, the less incentive I have to finish the level I'm creating. I have some nice ideas for the Vita though and intend to create them2012-08-05 20:48:00

I'm almost certain the Vita will replace LBP2 for 'me', but it may be too early to know given the lack of knowing what limitations the PSV version has.

I wouldn't be able to create levels on two different systems. Even though much of the gameplay is similar, the logic overhaul will make nearly everything I do on the Vita impossible/unreasonable to do on LBP2. Also, going from LBP2 to Vita, the logic would be outdated compared to the capabilities of the new components (primarily the add/subtract/multiple/divide of the AND/OR gates, and the memorizer).

Most of what I make is logic based, so just like LBP 1 -> 2, I don't see my self going back.

I'm also inclined to play LBPV more often. Every year I'm spending less and less time at home, mostly due to commutes and education, so being able to take Create Mode with me wherever I go is very useful.

As for making all my decent levels in LBPV. I won't. I'd like to embrace the new features and possibilities, so limiting myself to things I've done in LBP2 just doesn't make sense to me.

I have too many ideas with Vita features, so it is no space for old levels recreation 2012-08-06 07:49:00

No, the point is to make shorter fun experiences as well as fully fledged games. You know, Apps2012-08-06 20:41:00

you do know we are talking about lbp2 levels to vita right? you can't really make apps in lbp2. (cause apps uses touch only.)

I started a level on LBP2 that I was unable to finish but I plan on re-creating it on the Vita.
Of course, it won't have any touch features because it was designed with PS3 capabilities in mind, but its the principle of the matter.

I'm really interested in the idea of creating a whole story driven platform level series that's 4-5 levels strong with a level select menu (like SNES mario for example). The memorizer is going to be a mind blowing addition!
