Whos Sick of Copyers
Archive: 17 posts
I'm real tired of them. They make my day from good to bad. I was looking through the cool pages this morning and i found nothing but copied level after copied level. I'm sick of it. I want lbp they way it was before this happend. Back to when people did not copy because they knew what to do. And i'm just as mad at people for playing them. They know they are copied and what to do they say. Meh i'm in the mood for a copied level. If any Media Moleclue staff read this. Please so something about the copying because 1 it is killing lbp and 2 good creators who work hard don't get anyplays like me. My dream is not to get an mm pick. But to have loads of plays. MM If you really care about LBP. Then why don't you do something about the copyers? Please Save LBP. | 2012-08-04 23:02:00 Author: Sacko53 Posts: 134 |
So, youre not gonna let me copy your level? Gutted! You could have saved me the effort of making my own! | 2012-08-04 23:26:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
I like copiers. I've been using them most of my life. Very useful. I have a nice HP Photosmart printer that features a copier and a scanner. I probably use the scanner more often, but I'm still not adverse to copying when I need to. | 2012-08-04 23:32:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
I lol'd at '...I'm in the mood for a copied level' almost implying that people have officially deemed copypasta levels a genre in their own right. Besides, pro's don't look at the Cool Pages. The truly 1337 use fansites like this to pick out stuff and queue whatever peaks their interest. Going to the Cool Pages and complaining you found lousy levels and stupid people is like going to McDonalds and complaining about tasteless food and rude customer service. It's a bit of a no-brainer. | 2012-08-04 23:35:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

All of the levels on my earth are not copyable EDIT: So, youre not gonna let me copy your level? Gutted! You could have saved me the effort of making my own! Nope sorry. If i was to make a level of mine copyable people would just take credit and say they made it. But they know they got it from me. I have an upcomming tutorial on how to make movies. But its not going to be copyable. Belive it or not. There is no way to copy level in Little big planet karting. I looked and theres nothing for copying levels. That means everyone gets a fair chance of getting a play on their level. | 2012-08-04 23:39:00 Author: Sacko53 Posts: 134 |
I think the real question is "Who ISN'T Sick of Copiers?". | 2012-08-05 00:19:00 Author: chinook3 Posts: 453 |

I dont get what youre saying. It seems you think that copied levels being popular on cool pages is somehow denying "proper" creators a fair chance of getting their levels played? Not in my experience. I released a new level 2 weeks ago and it did pretty well on cool pages (despite being as "indie" as indie gets in LBP) and I got 1500 plays in a week. But....even if it was the case that people were too infatuated with copied levels to play "proper" levels by "real" creators, well if you can't beat em, join em. If copied levels are what the community likes, why not copy a level, republish it and enjoy watching your play count rise? Otherwise, it's best to accept that the community is 95% young children who get simple pleasure from dodging bombs, riding rocket cheetahs and killing Justin Bieber, forget your idealistic notions of such a community ever showing their appreciation for the hard work you put into your "real" level, and just enjoy creating for creation's sake. | 2012-08-05 00:50:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

I probably use the scanner more often, but I'm still not adverse to copying when I need to. Me too. It's a good way to put screen pictures on paper. But I don't like people who copy and spam. I like SPAM (the food), but I don't like spam (the copied levels). @Sacko53: I hate to tell you, but we had several topics on how bad the community of LBP is. Several members of LBPC are getting tired of this. We get it. We know how bad the cool pages and the community are, but it doesn't mean we can create more topics like this. I'm not trying to be rude, but we had several topics on this. | 2012-08-05 01:04:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
I hate to tell you, but we had several topics on how bad the community of LBP is. Several members of LBPC are getting tired of this. THIS. THIS EXACTLY. And for all those threads, there has been the same reply by me: Why do people still think that Mm will actually do something about this? Even if the entire community, forums and all, demands the changes to Mm, they'll do nothing. The reason why is because Mm has marooned LBP2 on a desert island, so to speak. They don't really care much about LBP anymore, and even if they do, they don't have the motivation to do something about it. Mm is in their own little world, with deaf ears, privately tinkering away at their own projects; not a care in the world. Sure, maybe they'll release a patch fixing a bug or two or maybe adding or deleting a feature, but the moment you can't squeeze anymore DLC money out of LBP2, they're completely gone. They may have some people still devoted to the cause, but they don't really do too much beyond making podcasts and picking levels and making podcasts. They, in essence, have pretty much stopped caring about the millions. The most care or acknowledgement they can give is possibly a WTF llama. Bad? Yes. We can't do s**t about it. We'll just have to grin and bear it. | 2012-08-05 02:50:00 Author: Kalawishis Posts: 928 |

I'm sick of them. I don't get any plays on my levels because people are too busy playing copied levels. The only way i get plays on my levels are my friends and people who use dive in. It will take a long time for me to reach 1000 plays. I've read a story on this guy and he said why he started copying. I'm not telling you the name of this person but you can find it out for your selves. Fine then if you like people who copied levels then be that way. It just goes to show how silly you are for playing copied levels. Again a lot of fights happen over copied levels. What do i do? I make my own levels and the only get 10 plays and thats it. I've heard some other people say they are upset because they get no plays on their levels. Lets just hope the next little big planet game has no copied button. Edit: By the way. All of us are allowed to speak and if we don't like something. We either complain or saysomething. Its no good leaving it and not saying anything is it? This is just may way of saying i hate people who copy levels. If you like people who copy then thats good. But if you hate people who copy levels then justs fine. Sony is in charge of moderation not MM. People are ruining the cool pages just to kick some poor and sorry person off them. How would you like it if you had loads of levels and got kicked off the cool pages because of people who copy levels and get more plays then you. I belive you would hate it. | 2012-08-05 04:48:00 Author: Sacko53 Posts: 134 |

We hate copied levels too, but we talked about this a million times. I know you are new here (maybe?), but we had like 10 to 15 topics like this in the last four months. | 2012-08-05 04:56:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |

I've been here since april 2012 Yes we all hate copied levels. If i must. I'll make a level on this and even through people will still play copied levels. People will remeber the Motto Play, Create And Share! | 2012-08-05 05:08:00 Author: Sacko53 Posts: 134 |

I don't think anyone here likes copied levels at all, but then a lot of people at lbpcentral are purist, elitist types who tend to place great value on the notion of artistic integrity and many delude themsleves into thinking their views are representative of the wider demographic when the community is in fact made up mostly of young kids who get a kick out of the kind of cheap and cheerful levels that we condescendingly look down upon. Have you stopped to consider WHY these copied levels are getting 1000s of plays while levels that the creator poured their blood and soul into making are getting no plays? Or why somebody like latinplayer has 1000s of hearts while "serious" creators have less than 50? Most LBP players don't care if a level was copied; they only care if they had a laugh with their clan-friends while playing it. To be fair, most of the levels that are produced by "serious" creators require a certain investment of time, thought and effort by the player and don't provide the kind of quick fix thrills that a generation of kid spoonfed on pop culture are looking for when they load up the game. If the community appreciate copied levels so much, then why the heck would Mm spit in the face of their majority demographic by removing the copy feature? They are a business first and foremost. If a certain feature of a product is popular with the average consumer, no company with any business sense will remove that feature when they release an upgraded version of the product. I think the copy feature is here to stay, like it or not. To quote Morgana- While we all know how frustrating cool pages and other parts of the community can be, threads like this just become dumping grounds for spam and don't really produce anything positive or realistic in terms of "fixing" things. The best we can do as individuals is to behave in ways that promote the game in a positive light, encourage other creators and respect players. Locking thread.
