Ratings? Rate This!

The server guys have been hard at work tweaking the ratings system and now it is time for you to tryout those changes! This means that over time we should see a bit more movement on the Community Planet front page as well-rated levels go up the list and poor-rated levels sink down.

Here?s a quick refresh on how to apply your stars:

1 Star
Not Recommended - Which means something like ?OMG! This levels stinks, it's awful, it's really not very good AT ALL! Yuck!?

2 Stars
Needs Work - Hmm, Not bad, the Creator needs to change that bit? ?and that bit? ?and possibly that bit and then it could be OK

3 Stars
Worth Playing - Pretty average, not great but not awful, you know, it?ll do. Or maybe there?s something about this level that people have to see and you want other people to know that.

4 Stars
Very Good - Now we?re talking! This could be a level that someone has spent a lot of time on and it shows (maybe great artwork or fun gameplay, etc). You shouldn?t give 4 Stars lightly unless you really enjoyed it so really make that stern face and consider before you rate it.

5 Stars
Must Play! - Ok, so you?ve just played a level that has left you stunned, there?s a huge smile on your face and your hands are shaking. You?ve just played a level worth rating 5 Stars, the epitome of ratings. You need to let everyone know so rate away! (no stern face this time because you just know it's worth 5 stars).

So why should we all rate levels? Well, it's a nice way of showing your ?thanks? to the Creator. Nothing makes a Creator smile more than seeing their level rating going up and up and, hopefully, this will make them want to make more great levels for us all to enjoy.

In the future, ratings will help us all find those hidden gems and reward all the hard work from the Creators but more about that in the future.

Oh, and remember if you have something to say about the level, put in a comment . Don?t be shy, Creators love to hear from people who have played their levels.

This is not really a tweak, this kind of rating (with the comment must play, very good and so on...) is out since the first release... at least here n Italy/Europe.
I assume it is not the same way in the States... o_O

No, it's had those comments for a while (not as detailed of a description though).

I don't see anything about real changes though... am I missing something?

This will never happen, random people are always too dumb and loves dumb levels...

If they ever manage to fix the save files to give a theoretically unlimited save size, well, I think they may become even more popular.

One can dream though... >.>
One would hope the situation would at least be better.

Wait... hold on a sec... What did they tweek. As far as i know it has been like this since day 1, it is just recently the levels' ratings actually started to mean something as starting in patch 1.07

Cheers!

It's the first paragraph that's the important bit. Let me quote and bold the important bit.

The important thing to note is that they are making the changes to way the front pages of cool levels look. They haven't gone into detail about what's different, but it sounds like there is some sort of decay feature now so new levels can have a chance.

As for the rest of the post, it's just filler, reminding people of what the ratings are suppose to represent. Though whether people follow those recommendations or their own code (I didn't die = 5 stars; Your level is better than mine = 1 star, etc. etc.) is another debate for sociology people. :S

well whatever tweak they did, is most likely good and well worth it, as well as benaficial to the community as a whole. (time to go republish my really bad levels, so i can get the Create trophy, a.k.a one of the only ones i have left to get )

Cheers!

Yes except I have not been giving enough levels 1 star. Lol, although there are some great levels out there I never seem to find them. (with the exception of levels found here) but to be frank searching is a bit of a pain

What improvement? Unvisible for now I suppose and then at the same time they cared to explain how to use the star rating system that is up and running since MONTHS already.

But the blog post sounds like the star rating is new...

Anyhow, I just hope they don't lose much time on the already working fine start rating system and put all their work force correctly the awfull bugs that plague the game and especially the profile ones. Priorities you know.
