2 Advanced Movers, 1 Object

Archive: 8 posts

Hello all.

Is there a way to accommodate 2 advanced movers on one object? I have 2 set to different speeds. One for up/down, one for left/right. It appears that if I have both on one object, it'll fail to work, even though only one is active.
Both movers are set to 100 accel/decel. One is set to a speed of 5.0 (u/d), the other is set to a speed of 11 (l/r). These are accurate speeds.
Regular movers are rubbish, they don't seem to stop when you want them to, and aren't accurate like advanced movers. I can't use followers in this case, so that's ruled out. I can't use 1 advanced mover, with a percentaged battery set to the u/d input, because 5.0 is 45.454545454545454........... % of 11.

Any ideas of how best to proceed?

Put each of them on its own sub-microchip, and activate the chip when needed. That should work, if I understand your issue correctly.2012-08-01 21:41:00

The 100% decel stops the object if the one of the movers is off. Maybe you could try setting it lower.2012-08-01 22:19:00

You must turn off one mover when the other is active. Else it wont work.2012-08-01 23:26:00

so much mis-information in this thread......
2 movers work fine together, you just have to make sure that deceleration is set on only one of them, and acceleration on both is set higher than deceleration. also if speed on one is much lower than the speed on the other it can cause issues.
so try setting deceleration on one to 0%, the other to 90%, with both acc set to 100%. if the different speeds cause issues you can try lowering the acc on the mover with the higher speed, just remember to keep deceleration below both accelerations

Attach the Up/Down output from your controlinator to the input on the Up/Down only Adv. Mover and corresponding NOT Gate. Then attach the Left/Right output from your controlinator to the input on the Left/Right only Adv. Mover and corresponding NOT Gate. Basically the NOT Gates turn the opposite mover off, making this contraption work flawlessly. I used the 5 and 11 settings both at 100 acceleration and deceleration.

This Image should help you understand what to do.

Hope this helped,

I must admit, I made this thread in the heat of the moment... was getting very much annoyed at my level last night and perhaps overlooked the fact that I could actually de-activate the mover. So, if I turn off one mover at the bottom it should nullify its anti-grav effect? I feel a bit stupid now.... but at least I've saved myself a lot of hassle.2012-08-02 10:03:00
