American Dad!

| In the past, I had never really given the show a chance. I had seen Family Guy and I was not a fan of Seth MacFarlane's childish and raunchy sense of humor that relied on cut-away gags for quick laughs. The other night however, I was watching TV and American Dad! came on. I thought "Okay, what the heck" and watched it anyways. To my surprise, I enjoyed it. The jokes were actually clever and the plots enjoyable. This show is actually quite entertaining. It's more approachable than Family Guy, the episodes have actual plot development. The characters have better developed personalities, and best of all the jokes are actually relevant to whats happening. | I believe in the later episodes of Family Guy, Seth relies on viewers simply laughing at what doesn't make sense. You can't expect everyone to love a completely irrelevant cut away/reference simply because it's "random". In addition, jokes are reused, and perhaps they were funny the first time, but the second time it's just a reused waste of time, as are the drawn out scenes that really only need to be about 10 seconds long, not a full minute or two. But otherwise I quite like Family Guy. But it doesn't come close to American Dad, that show is hilarious. Also, I can't get through a whole episode of the Cleveland Show. | Although I can't say I agree with you on the topic of Family guy, I really enjoy American Dad. It's funny, the characters aren't just there for laughs (Which family guy is guilty of at some points) Oh, and don't even get me started on Roger!
