Interesting Kickstarters!

Hey all .

Just wanted to make a thread for interesting gaming Kickstarters. Please post any good ones that you come across and hopefully that will spread the word a little.

Currently I've backed 3:

Wicked Crush (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/billymonks/wicked-crush) - A platformer with a very nice art style, character design and animations. It's both old school in its gameplay and new in terms of the game structure (having taken inspiration from LBP and Demon's Souls). The game will come with 100 levels, but you can create your own levels. They seem to have a good system in place to control the level of difficulty and prevent impossible levels (the creator has to finish the level without getting hit once before they can submit it) and they're developing code to prevent random success/failure situations. I have to say the level creator looks very nice, sort of a blueprint style. I'd recommend that all LBP fans check it out and spread the word. It still needs $12,000 in 17 days.

The Ouya (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ouya/ouya-a-new-kind-of-video-game-console) - New $99 Android based console for TVs, aimed at indie developers. Closing in on 6 million raised. OnLive support confirmed.

Volgarr the Viking (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1829034266/volgarr-the-viking) - An old school style platformer which looks very good, well thought out mechanics and tough-but-fair difficulty. Goal reached, now aiming for a stretch goal of $50,000 to add a kind of alternate path of levels (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1829034266/volgarr-the-viking/posts/276599) through the game, which seems like a really cool idea. Kind of like Castlevania Rondo of Blood/Dracula X Chronicles.

Castle Story (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/902505202/castle-story) looks absolutely fantastic. It's a strategy game where you use your army of "Bricktrons" to build castles, you place the blueprints of the castle block by block, then your Bricktrons will gather resources and start to build your castle. Then at night, you can send the Bricktrons out to explore, or defend your castle from the baddies.

Basically supposed to be a Sim City online type game, only without the annoying "social" features of most facebook games. Made by ex-Obsidian developers.

Project Cars.

It might not be Kickstarter, I don't know and I don't care - it's the same business model. SMS are trying to make a sim instead of the arcade BS they produced with Shift 1 & 2, hopefully it won't suck. But I have iRacing and rFactor 1 + 2 so I don't really care.		2012-08-02 02:32:00

Evilot (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/syrenaica/evilot?ref=users) - Horizontal-lanes defence game (like Plants vs Zombies)

Noble Path (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1484703132/noble-path?ref=users) - 2D, top-down Action RPG - combat seems quite cool . Coming to Ouya! Reminds me a bit of the Neophyte (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neophyte_%28series%29) games, my first intro to Action-RPGs.

Project Giana (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/project-giana/project-giana?ref=users) Very cool 2d platformer with a beautiful, detailed art-style (like a brighter Trine) and interesting mechanics.

Rack n Ruin (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/378998166/rack-n-ruin?ref=users) 2D action-adventure game. Not quite sure about this one but it looks kind-of quirky and cool.

Phantasmaburbia (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1655502920/phantasmaburbia?ref=users) Only a few hours left on this one. Adventure RPG. Honestly wasn't too interested to begin with but the creator has a very good record with previous freeware games he has made so might be one to watch!		2012-08-24 01:49:00

The creator of Zombie Fortress, Parkour Fortress, TF2Ware and mods like that. And the host of the Slag Gamemode Madness servers

So, like, he's some guy making his dream game. Which, like me, is an RPG.

So, if you want to back it, that'd be great. At the moment, it'll be for PC/Mac/Linux, but he already confirmed with Nintendo he can get it on Wii U if he gets enough money, and is in talks with Sony for PS4 and Vita.
