Sackbots running and jumping in the background?

Archive: 3 posts

I recall long ago successfully putting a sackbot into the background of a level (3D glitch) but can someone confirm the mobility of a sackbot once it's there? Assuming I've built a full, multi-layered background already, I imagine the sackbot would break or be forced out of the area, same as any overlapping object not glued/antigravitied in place.2012-07-19 04:10:00

You can still put sackbots in the background, but their movement can be a little odd - more like they're skating than running and I'm not sure if they can jump. Sackbots in the foreground sometimes go partially transparent.
If you have any thin, physical material in the back layer or in the background, this will block your sackbot's movement. Also, they want to come back into the normal layers. If you have the sackbot set to an automated behavior, then turn off the ability to change layers. If you're acting, then the change layer option is grayed out and you'll have to physically restrain the sackbot. Do this by placing any physical material in the back thick layer (not the thin layer), the material can be shrunken down to be invisible if you want.
If you need a sackbot walk behind other background materials then you can use the "walk through walls glitch" (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=48030-Walk-Thru-Walls-Glitch-Rediscovered!) - but make a copy of your level first, because this glitch takes away an object's physics and also makes it impossible to delete or remove the object and that's permanent!
My Nudge Tool can make Thin or Theck material collision free, so that could be useful - but it won't work on any thick material.

The way I go about this is this: glue two very small blocks of any material (preferrably sticker panel or hologram, since you can make it invisible and doesn't have any weight of itself) to the object you want to make walk-through. Then corner-edit one block: drag one of its corners to the opposite corner in order for the block to disappear on itself (for this to work, the block needs to be small; its depth-size doesn't matter, though).

Now the object is walk-through but cannot be selected (and thus be modified or deleted); you can revert its state by selecting the remaining block and unglue that. (Then copy it and you'll have two blocks again to start over and make the object walk-through again after your changes to it)

Also, a walk-through object cannot be captured (and thus emitted).
