Backing up work

Archive: 6 posts

Hi everyone.
I was wondering about something... I am in the middle of making quite an intricitate level at the moment, and am sort of
worried that if my ps3 fails (which i hope it wont), is there a way to save my actual level I'm making?

Can it be saved to an exterior drive or a flash drive?
If i use Sonys online storage, will it save my actual level?
When I backup up my profile, does it save my designed levels as well, or,
does this happen/ is there a way, to save my actual level? - maybe in the game data.

Basically, I want to ensure my level and its contents (the game design i'm making) is backed up and saved to somewhere other than the ps3's hard drive as dont want to lose all my work.
If anyone can help, thankyou.

You can make a backup of the level to your PS3 from in game then you can easily copy it to a USB. I do it all the time now.

Also when you make a profile backup you can copy it to a USB as well and it does keep all your levels and popit items in the profile.

Once copied to a USB you can then copy it to anything.

I definitely advocate that, and I also suggest publishing it locked, just as an extra version available.2012-07-17 16:20:00

I'd second that motion.

Yes, but also make it a sublevel if you really don't want anyone to play. I heard of a way to get into locked levels (by leaving a review on another level?) but no one else can even see your sublevels, so it's more private.

I keep my profile backed up on my laptop and also on a flash drive. No, I'm not paranoid; why would you think that?
