Funny you mention this...

I was just playing Sims 2, and the old lady died of starvation.

You haven't seen any gameplay videos of it Quozl? How strange... Well it's basically like Home, except with more features since you pay for it.2009-01-08 10:47:00

Nope haven't really ever had any inclination to check it out, the concept just doesn't interest me. Not that it isn't an incredibly successful game it just has never appealed to me .

Played the original quite a bit, but didn't have a machine powerful enough to run The Sims 2. That said, I don't really miss it and probably won't look into this next iteration.2009-01-08 13:46:00

SIMS is a fun game, I love to torture my sims, put them into a room with no way out and have them cook with no experience, so they burn, LOL. Or have them take a swim and take away the ladder to get out, or another fun one is have them use the telescope until they get abducted by aliens, oh yeah I love this game.

Yes I am EVIL.

Loved The Sims, had over 9000 expansions packs for it. I was still missing some...
Then I bought Sims 2, and all those happy memories of The Sims ran away. It was nowhere near as enjoyable as The Sims, the game became a chore. The little meters on everything would fall before I got the chance to do absolutely anything of interest. There needs to be an option to 'freeze' them or something. I know that would almost take away the point of The Sims, but I play games for fun. Not to guide some person to a fridge, then a toilet, then to bed, then listen to him moan about how there isn't enough light in the room.
If I wanted to do that, I would've taken up a career in childcare.

I really only ever played to make houses. Loved building mansions, castles and the like. I never really liked actually playing around with the people except to make them die somehow :hero:2009-01-08 15:59:00

That was my favourite part too.
That when I was younger and didn't know what I was doing half the time... now I know what I'd want from a house. I'd want to play it again just to make houses.

Played it years ago on the PC, found it boring. I prefer stuff like Theme Park (world)/Hospital and Sim City 2000.2009-01-08 16:03:00

Oh, I played it eventually and thought it was superb. It just didn't hold my attention quite like the original...

Actually I seem to remember there is a cheat code that resets all the meters lol, you could have just done that xD

Sims is ok but I always seem to find myself getting bored of it in a few days. Hopefully there will be a ps3 version though, then I might reconsider (my pc is awful xD)

I used to use it by basing the characters off of people I actually knew, for the lols of watching them live together and/or raise children.

But unfortunately, I'd have to agree that for me anyway time seems to go by so fast, and just while I'm having fun I have to go to bed for work in the morning. Gah, a little too familiar for me!
