How to make a vacuum with the creatinator!

Lol, well this one was unexpected! It was recommended to me by jamiljlkc and i thought, why not...right? It might come in handy someday in a level or somethin' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU4LzLZjiYQ&feature=plcp Subscribe for more tutorials and stuff! | 2012-07-08 23:27:00 Author: dermZ96 Posts: 86 |
Very cool! One of these 'why did i never think of that'-moments. Might actually use something like this in one of my levels. One question: Does it work with more than 1 player? | 2012-07-09 11:24:00 Author: Deurklink1 Posts: 346 |
I think that could be done without the controllinator. Instead of having the emitted holo so big, make it as small as possible, and instead of an impact sensor on the object, use a tag sensor with a defined radius. | 2012-07-09 14:41:00 Author: Brannayen Posts: 438 |
I'm not actually sure. I don't think it can because of the controllinator on the microchip. :/ but feel free to experiment, you never know there could be a way! | 2012-07-09 17:00:00 Author: dermZ96 Posts: 86 |
Well, that's the beauty of this game...there's a hundred different ways of doing the same thing. If one way doesn't fit your scenario, there's always a different way. Only reason I brought it up is because the question was raised..."would it work with more than 1 player". The answer is no, because it uses a controllinator set to be controlled by "nearest player". However, you could do the same thing with sackbots, and have it follow a tag on each sackbot. To make it work multiplayer without sackbots, you would have to eliminate the controllinator. I'll experiment with it later, and post my findings, unless someone else beats me to it. | 2012-07-09 18:24:00 Author: Brannayen Posts: 438 |
Yea that's a good idea | 2012-07-10 07:41:00 Author: dermZ96 Posts: 86 |
Here's the way i did it: http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/2212d5a00b0052e48e59564fd814c7e826c5ab24.jpg I'm giving it away in my prize giveaway level if you want to use it (or you can just copy it since it's so simple ) - http://lbp.me/v/cr8mhq | 2012-07-10 16:33:00 Author: Deurklink1 Posts: 346 |
Yeah i guess that's a good way to do it. Did it work better than the way in the video? | 2012-07-10 19:50:00 Author: dermZ96 Posts: 86 |
Well, the best part of it is that it doesn't use a nearest player controllinator on a mover. So it's easy to use even when there's more than one player. Also, it only uses 1 tag, which i think makes it easier to tweak. To make an object disappear closer to or further from the player you could just change the range of the tag sensor on the object. | 2012-07-10 20:03:00 Author: Deurklink1 Posts: 346 |
That's pretty much what I was suggesting. I was thinking something slightly different with the holo, but the same concept nonetheless. | 2012-07-10 23:57:00 Author: Brannayen Posts: 438 |

That was truly simple, yet amazing at the same time. I might use it at a level. Or maybe something similar | 2012-07-12 19:11:00 Author: Patofan Posts: 1185 |
I have a vacuum like that! I made it like... Last year, but mine tends to diverge the game whenever I start fooling around with it in multiplayer. | 2012-07-13 02:41:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |

Ah, another thing I would have done in another way if holo was sticky-able. Make the projectile be a small holo piece with a follower set to the player and an impact sensor connected to a "sticky" tweak and the follower. Holo comes out moving forward, as soon as it hits something it starts dragging it towards the player. I hope the unphysicalize tool of vita allows us to do sticky non-material. | 2012-07-21 04:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
