Hi Howdy Hey all,

After a long break from LBP2, I'm happy to announce that this is my first level since I've been back. A level which is all about GOLD...

The level is split into 4 different sections, each with it's own unique theme and style of gameplay.

Stage 1: Alchemy Antics

I played this level today and it's absolutely amazing. Great music, a bit of platforming, and some great mini-games. It all looks very nice and it plays really well, so if you're reading this, give the level a try!2012-07-06 22:59:00

you need to change the title of this level. It doesn't quite fit. maybe change it to "Quite Simply Awesome!" The level really surprised me. I enjoyed each section and probably the 1st section and machine sections the most. I thought that the pirate section may have been just a teensy tiny bit long and the mine cart section was great but the collision detection seemed a little off. After I passed the rocks and moved either down or up it still blew up and took points away even though I KNOW I missed it. Some of them were just unfair as there is no way to move down then up again to avoid a rock when they were too close together. Heck, if you were stopped on the tracks it would be difficult to move between some of those rocks. I can't imagine what the Hard mode looks like. Overall, awesome level. I like the variety in this and thought was good transition to the next challenge. Outstanding job man.2012-07-07 17:27:00

Thank you very much for the feedback biorogue.

For a long time, the pirate segment was about 50% longer - so you should be grateful
Nah, but in all seriousness, one of my playtesters said it's too long, and the other said they wanted more...
I decided 2 mins would be an appropriate time, but if I hear similar feedback then I may shorten it.

As for the minecart segment, it is intended to be hard (last segment of the level and all), but I'll definitely take on board what you've said.
Perhaps the solution may be to decrease the time it takes to switch rails (a few milliseconds would make a huge difference). The hitbox is exactly the same size as the cart, but I appreciate the timing is very tight at parts.
I know it is possible to complete without hitting a single rock, as I've done it, but I have tested it about 100 times XD

I'd say my specialities lie in platforming, so I'm glad you enjoyed the 1st and 3rd stages.

I really appreciate the play, and the feedback.

Hey, here's my review of your level:

The starting text is funny, which is always a good thing =]
In the first area of the level, I really like the view of the level (the way the camera is done). It kind off looks like a really classic platformer. I also like there gold theme to the level. It's not too strong but it's always there at a nice amount. In the 2nd area getting the golden ring, I think it was a ring, was a cool addition.
I thought there was a slight problem in the 3rd area. I wanted to go for the golden ring in this area, and to be safe I went off and got the checkpoint first. But after activating that checkpoint I wasn't allowed to return to the other area.
Stage 2 was interesting but going from 100 to 500 to 800 didn't make sense to me because 100 was so low, and the 2nd layer wasn't too much harder to hit but it gave 5 times the points.
Stage 3 went back to platforming. It was well - designed and again kept to the theme of the level. Not too easy not to hard either.
Stage 4 was very orginal and fun/challenging. This was my favourite part of the level and it was really well done. I also liked how you were timed throughout the entire level.
Overall, really nice level, it kept to it's sense of classic-ness and was quite versatile and interesting/fun!

Hey FahadM, thanks for playing my level.

Regarding your issue in Stage 1, my idea was to encourage the player to move quickly forward and avoid confusion of where to go - this is why I prevented the player from backtracking after each change in camera angle. I do however, understand the problem you had, and might remove the invisible walls in that section to allow easier access to the collectible.

For Stage 2, originally the speed of the ships was directly proportional to the number of points each ship game. Speeds of the ships were then tweaked and modified extensively based on testing. Foolishly however, I didn't then make any attempt to alter the scores of the ships, after altering the speeds, and this shows. I am considering changing the points to 200, 400, 800, to remedy this.

I'm glad you enjoyed Stages 3 & 4.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope I am able to successfully deal with the issues you had

Updated the level to accomodate for SD Televisions (aka keeping in mind the title safe area)

A big thanks to DarkDedede for bringing my attention to this problem and helping me fix it.
And read his awesome review of my level here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=34116-DarkDedede-s-Review-Shop&p=1028039)

Thanks to all that played for getting my level to 1k plays!

loved this! the collision boundary on the back end of the minecart seemed a little unforgiving, but I dont know how you would fix this. Otherwise AAA+. A splendid level. kudos!2012-07-28 00:04:00

Thanks for the play SK

Can I ask, did you play the level with an SD or HD television?
The reason I ask, is because an SD TV cuts off part of the screen (meaning it's more difficult to see where the back of the minecart is). I thought I had fixed this, but perhaps not :/
