FLASHLIGHTS as costume item

If it were a costume piece I don't believe it should shine light like an actual light, due to how certain levels are built around the concept of the player not seeing. As a powerup, yes I could see it being a perfect powerup. | 2012-07-06 08:35:00 Author: Megaboy93 Posts: 77 |
Yes, I've wanted there to be some sort of following source of light but placing a bulb on a hologram with a follower just looks odd - a sphere of pure white just floating around after you. I don't see why David hates the idea so much. A flashlight object would be a swell idea. I wouldn't recommend it emit any light as it could change gameplay experience in levels introducing more than the game can handle (Aka: LAG!) lol | 2012-07-06 16:45:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |

I just don't see a costume being half as useful as a powerup. Infact, I was about to resurrect the "illuminator" idea in about a week or so with a write up of how I would implement it as a full level kit... =p I guess when you said object, I assumed one of those ugly flat flashlights that floats around your sackboy and turns with the controllinator close player input lol. A powerup would also be an even cooler idea! I definitely wouldn't mind having one over the other haha. But it feels like a very unnecessary powerup unfortunetly. Only a tiiiiiny bit of levels would ever use it and only a tiny bit more of THOSE levels would even use it correctly. Sure it would be popular the first few weeks it was released, but eventually it will be forgotten *Cough cough* Motion controller But hey, ya never know, there's a big vita kit coming in the future, perhaps we'll see some nifty new powerups? | 2012-07-06 20:13:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
haha, ya the motion controller was a flop but i think it would be a good power up, since its just a small thing they could just slip it in a patch. i would use it a ton, like you could aim it with the left stick, so if you are in a mounted house you would have to use the flashlight to get through it | 2012-07-11 03:27:00 Author: deschuttes2 Posts: 157 |
