2 Thin layers with a motor bolt

Archive: 13 posts

Hi I am trying to make a working clock on sackboys format and to make it visual appealing I have to manage to get 2 thin layers stucked together with a motor bolt, but that doesn't work.

Does anyone knows how to do this? Please help me

2 thin layers won't bolt together unless,

they are in seperate layers and joined through holo... or you use a thin layer glued to a glitched theck (search the community) layer.

I made a working clock once by bolting two separate, circular pieces of invisible holo to the same solid background object. Then I used decorations on each of the circles of holo (since decorations can overlap each other) to act as the hands of the clock. Something like wrought iron railing or something - I don't recall which decoration, but there are several long, linear styled decorations that would work in this application.

Hope this helps!

@David

Thanks for that useful link. Its always so wonderful what these community find in glitches! I wish I could use ''thock'' so that the background clock image and the 2 hands off the clock all 3 can be in the same layer. Maybe in the future .

@vortex

So easy that I didn't thought off that!! I already tried holo but I didn't do it in the end because off the light! But with dog nose decoration it just looks like the color brown on sackboy scale. Thanks you!

Sticker material is a material you can acquire in the move DLC, its very similar to hologram but without an animation, you can also place a sticker on it and the material will become invisible, but not the sticker, this gives the sticker the appearance of floating in mid air. Sticker panel does not have physical properties (just like hologram) and can make the perfect material to overlap for clock hands.2012-07-06 07:07:00

you need the move to unlock all the stuff. unless you can borrow a move controller you are going to have to buy one. you can get them pretty cheap second hand and if you haven't got a PSEye, that's a bonus too. I would also recommend the muppets pack

I too can heartily recommend both packs. Add Toy Story to that list, some great levels.2012-07-07 07:46:00

Connect it to a hologram

yeah it works with holo too but the result is far from satisfactory. once you've used sticker panels, you never want to use anything else

I highly recommend the Move pack just for the Sticker Panel and other materials and decorations. You can probably find someone with a move to play through it with you and help collect the prizes.

About your clock, I've just published a new tool and tutorial that's useful for adding details - lets you move thin material part way between layers, for example. Follow my signature if you're interested.
