How do you make an opening/closing door?
Archive: 10 posts
Basically, all I want to do is make a moving door that moves from it's stationary position (facing the ground) to the right, so you can get through it. I have a wobble bolt attatched to a sensor at the moment, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll try to get some pictures up later to give you a clearer idea of what I'm trying to accomplish, although you bright bunnies will probably be able to figure it out | 2009-01-07 15:44:00 Author: Unknown User |
is the sensor set to directional? | 2009-01-07 16:13:00 Author: Trap_T Posts: 431 |

Remember when I came round to your house and we made that level together?.. I made the same door you're talking about, except with a piston instead of a wobble bolt. | 2009-01-07 16:39:00 Author: TheArmedReaper Posts: 1543 |
A wobble bolted door Sackperson walks trough it.. and gets the door on his head several times.. poor little sack. | 2009-01-07 16:47:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
There's nothing wrong with making a door using a wobble bolt. Setting a sensor to directional and connecting it to the wobble bolt should work. The door would open as long as sackboy is inside the sensor radius and close if he's not inside. Use a permanent switch to only make it open/close once. I suggest you look at the settings of your wobble bolt, especially the once that determines which direction the bolt wobbles in. Do not go after the little "piece of cake" icon which supposedly shows the direction it will go.. because it doesn't. Detach any switch from the bolt, adjust the direction and let it wobble to see if it's going into the right direction. If it doesn't move at all even without any switch attached then something is probably blocking it's way. Look for little corners that might be barely visible, but still can block the way. Another reason it doesn't work might be one of those 1.07 bugs, but you would have probably noticed it. Sometimes switches will just freeze and do nothing at all. I even had a sensor just disappear on me for no reason yesterday. If nothing solves your problem, then yeah, pictures would help. | 2009-01-07 17:10:00 Author: Shiwayari Posts: 167 |

Really? For me, it only shows the right direction very rarely. Most of the time it's completely wrong. Like I place a wobble bolt, adjust it 90 degrees right, and it starts going 60 degress left. Really strange, that xD | 2009-01-07 17:44:00 Author: Shiwayari Posts: 167 |
