Emitters within emitters to save thermo... downsides?
Archive: 3 posts
Hiya all! You'd think I'd have a better understanding of this, but... just to confirm... Let's say I have a huge multi-section level that exceeds my thermo. I save a big chunk and put it in an emitter elsewhere. Then I save THAT chunk and put it in another emitter. So now I've got a level that's putting out two very big chunks, one within the other. Does this get really ugly and wonky when players load the level? (long wait times, terrible lag, etc.) I haven't ever really tried this, just read about it. What are the downsides of emitters within emitters, thermo-wise? | 2012-06-29 07:17:00 Author: Unknown User |

What are the downsides of emitters within emitters, thermo-wise? I don't think there's any lag. There may be slightly longer loading times but that's about it. remember, it's only raw data when saved in the emitters. the engine does nothing until that raw data is analysed and displayed. you're talking about 'nesting' which is something best left to those who know what they're doing. I have never tried it either, mainly because my levels never exceed the therm limits. | 2012-06-29 07:59:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |
Wonder why some of those MM-picks have such long loading times? Emitters. | 2012-06-29 08:48:00 Author: Deurklink1 Posts: 346 |
