Squarelord - A strategic level about squares

I had this idea to make an arena style top down fighter game, but then I came up with an even more interesting idea.

in Squarelord you have an arena that is made of squares, 8x8, and your objective is to claim these squares for you, you play with either the blue team or the red team and you have to conquer the most of the arena.
Standing over an opponent's square makes you lose 1 life and you only have 3 lifes.
You play with an object called X-Cube that moves square by square, It's a strategic game for 2 players, if you're playing with more than 2 players, 2 of you will become spectators.

I've already published Squarelord but my project is much greater, the Squarelord I published is a test version, if the community likes the level I will try to update it to my great project, I would like you guys to play my level and give me any feedback also report to me any bugs and errors, thank you

Updated: I'll be updating now more often this thread, the final version is almost done, more 1 week or 2 of work and I can publish it, however I need more support from you guys, please play my actual version and give me all the feedback you can, report any bugs or fails during the level, I need that information to perfect those specific points, thank you for your time.

As I said, the objective of the game is to claim more squares than your opponent, this way winning the game either by points or by X-Cube destruction.
You must stand over a cube to claim it, (X) button, but there are powers to assist you. Note that you can claim over claimed cubes altrough damaging your X-Cube, however using powers can prevent this.

These are the actual powers:
Clear blast (Clears the color of the squares arround you) - costs 50 points
Blast (claims the squares arround you) - costs 100 points
Strife (sends claimer cubes in each direction claiming every square on their way) - 200 points

on the final version instead of 3 powers, I'm making 8 from 2 diffrent groups. You'll be able to choose one of each to use on your X-Cube.
Passive powers (Don't claim squares)
Active powers (Claim squares)

The Arena

So this is where you play Squarelord, you can see the X-Cubes at the upper left corner and at the lower right corner.
The 2 hexagons on the top are the player seats and the 2 at the bottom are the spectator seats.
The black bar on the left side is the timer, it will fill on yellow, when it reaches the top the game ends, marking the 5 minutes limit.

The X-Cube

This is the actual form of the X-Cube, It is very simple and you can easly see the damage taken by steping over your opponent's squares. I'm already working on a new disign.

This is the section of the new version, here I'll be showing the new features, you can still see the old information on the spoiler.

Menu

The main menu won't be too diffrent however it will have more options due to the new match option, also the "Help" section on the menu will have new information on how to use new the features. The only buttons used on the menu are the D-pad arrow keys and the X button.

Options:
Play
Help
Match - in here you'll be choosing the match specific definitions like the game mode
Music - in here you'll be choosing the music you want it to play while on battle

Match

The game kept it's rules but I added some options to make it more adaptable

Game mode - where you choose if it is a 1 VS 1; 2 VS 2; etc...
Arena size - Amount of squares, 8 x 8 or 12 x 12
Powers - Turns on/off the powers

tell me if you would like to see some more options, it would be good to know if there is some thing I'm missing.

Powers

Like I said the full version will feature 8 powers from where you chose 1 of each type to use on the match, the cooldown of every power is now of 5 seconds. when a power stays active during a certain amount of time, the cooldown only starts after the power diactivates.
I've erased the raise square option on the final version, it was a bit worthless.

Near to your seat there will be to bars that will tell you the cooldown of your powers, the active power bar will have the color of your X-Cube, the passive power bar will be white.

power list:
Active powers (claim squares)
- Blast (Claims the squares arround you) - costs 100 points
- Overlayer (Claims the squares around the squares around you) [Replaced: Link] - costs 100 points
- Strife (Shoots claimer cubes in each direction) - costs 200 points
- Amplifier (Increasses the claiming size of you cube by 1 square in each direction for 5 seconds) - costs 200 points

Passive powers (don't claim squares)
- Clear blast (Clears from any color the squares arround you) - costs 100 points
- Explosive cube (drops one explosive cube on your position with 2.5 seconds timer, X-Cubes caught on explosion are instantly destroyed) - costs 100 points
- Shield (Makes you invulneravel to your opponent's claimed squares for 5 seconds) - costs 200 points
- EMP ( disables any X-Cube caught on blast for 5 seconds) - costs 200 points

Points

Points are important either to win the game and to use powers, they still work the same way, you recive points every 5 seconds if you have at least 1 square.
1 square = 10 points
4 squares = 20 points
8 squares = 30 points
12 squares = 40 points
16 squares = 50 points

Players

Now you will be able to play with 2P-4P, If you chose a game mode that can't support every player on the party, the last players will become spectators, like on the initial version.
you will have this options:

- 1 VS 1
- Triple (1 VS 1 VS 1)
- 2 VS 2
- Free For All / FFA (1 VS 1 VS 1 VS 1)

X-Cube

The new disign is already finished, I'll be showing an image of it soon.
It is still easy to see the damage however a bit harder compared to the old X-Cube, but I think that this one is better looking so...
I added other effects on the X-Cube for EMP and the shield.

Bugs

Like I said this is one of the most important parts of the creation, i need to fix and solve any bug I found, that's why I published the test version, It's one of the aspects that is important for a level.
In the new version I hope to have every bug fixed.

I won't hide any bugs from you so this is what I know/been told:
- the fourth player on the party ends up in the middle of nowhere instead of the spectator seat (Finding a solution)
- sometimes it is possible to claim over opponent squares without sufferig damage (Fixed on new version)
- When one player wins by X-Cube destruction, the the one who is supose to lose wins because he has more points (Fixed on new and old version)
- The menu sometimes appears on the battle (Finding a solution)
- The "raise square" has some issues (There will be no raise square on the final version)
- 2 X-Cubes get stuck in betwen two squares when they cross direction (Finding a solution)
