Ridiculousness...

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is an entirely standalone game that will not feature the LBP1 and LBP2 community levels.

Really? I suppose the cross-play DLC should prevent me from returning this paperweight. I'd like to hear someone else's thoughts on this.

EDIT:
I understand now that LBPV will offer a fresh start to the community. That being said, I will not be returning said paperweight. Instead, I will be anticipating the game's release and caressing my Vita, making up for my previous threat to it.

I can't understand why people thought it would do that anyway. YES, there was always going to be a way of using the Vita with LBP2, but there's no way on earth that Tarier would want to deal with the less than perfect build of LBP2 AND all the updates to fix fixes of issues that were fixed before. then they'd have to work around ALL the levels that used glitches present in LBP2 and LBP1. this would be a nightmare.

no, it was better to start anew with a newly honed engine. it's far from ridiculous. that paperweight is about to get the best LBP of them all. be HAPPY I personally can't wait to jump into a barren wilderness and watch it bloom... In fact, I can't think of a deeper joy than watching creation evolve afresh.

Glitchless fresh start does sound appealing. I suppose I am just being pessimistic.2012-06-27 08:52:00

it is exciting if you think about it. we'll see some terribly nervous steps by intrepid newcomers, and marvellous creations from the old gunners... and perhaps the occasional raw gem honed by some snotty nosed kid who just found home for the first time in his/her life. what could be more inspiring than that?

For one thing, I feel like many people getting the Vita are old PSP'ers like myself, and many of us do not want to compete with well-established PS3 LBP2 creators, as I feel like we'll be too new and just get lost in the mix.

Secondly, it seems as though the touch screen will have a huge influence on Vita game play, so you couldn't really crossover between the PS3 and Vita in both directions (but I'm not too familiar with what Move does so maybe you could).

Personally, I'm happy with a fresh start in a fresh game.

I'm tired of everyone assuming you can play LBP1&2 levels on it. I can't put a number on how many people I've seen say it's official that it would even though I knew and told them it wasn't.

You can choose to be anything on the internet, so why do so many people choose to be stupid?

I'm not calling anyone here stupid, just that some people out there are...

Calling the situation ridiculous may not be a very intelligent move on my part seeing as porting those levels shouldn't be easy at all.But it's not like the idea is completely impossible so it's no surprise if it may have crossed people's minds.

Well there was some confusion so I can understand why Tellous wasn't certain, especially when not all forum users camp out on here every day at all hours like myself and other kindred fanatics. Perhaps the reaction and this consequential thread could have been a tad less aggressive though

but he's been man enough to consider the error and that's all we can ask of anyone. I for one have no problem with someone who's got bottle enough to do that.

I think if the game were out everyone would be so deliriously happy with it that it being separate from LBP1/2 won't be an issue. I'm seeing frustration from people buying Vitas almost exclusively for LBPV and not expecting to wait very long to play it. Probably Sony marketing messed up in misleading folks into believing this was a launch window title or something.

If people wouldn't jump the gun and would wait for the inevitable Vita+LBP bundle they wouldn't consider the Vita a paperweight...and might even save some cash. The TC might want to try Gravity Rush while waiting, always good to support new IPs and this one makes good use to the Vitas features...we may not be playing LBPV until November, buckle up.
