The Music Group "Mum" (It's not what you think!)

Archive: 6 posts

Recently I've been searching the web for ambient music for my create sessions in LBP, and for calming myself down from the stress of exams.
I've recently come across this extremely unique Icelandic music group called "Mum". They make songs that experiment with un-usual tempos, beats and instruments, and the results are AMAZING. I've had my laptop constantly relaying my playlist of their songs all week, and it's actually been helping me out of a "Creator's block" situation.

Here are just a few of my favorites, of many:

Be sure to give each song a listen all the way through. They get better the longer you listen to them.

Hopefully you guys like them as much as I do

I find it amazing that the second i find something awesome (Like m?m) there's always these "funny coincidences" and i keep seeing it everywhere. Even Mnniska uses them for his Speed Create videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK2019otvRY&feature=plcp

I think M?m is amazing. Not my absolute favorite but it's really cool.

Yes, I noticed Mnniska uses their songs quite a bit in his speed create sessions. Although the music is commonly overshadowed by his voice (A good thing for commentaries!) So I decided to check them out. I'm super glad I did

I'd heard a few of these songs somewhere before and really liked them, but I never knew who it was. Thanks for the links!

In return, can I recommend you some similar sounds?

I have a whole bunch more of suggestions for artists you may like who produce these luscious tones, but I'll leave it at that for now.

I love M?m!
My sister gave me a bunch of music to create to about two years ago, and M?m was one of the bands she recommended At first I didn't really like the music, but it grew on me. I accidentally listened to one of their songs 1.5 years later and loved it to bits.

EDIT:

In return, can I recommend you some similar sounds?
