Need help with checkpoints

I have created a simple level with four races and several checkpoints. My trouble is that if you die it seems to send you to one of checkpoints at random. I can die in the same spot three times and get sent to three different checkpoints, bypassing not only the race underway, but throwing you farther along the level than the rest of the racers. I tried adding a proximity gadget to the portals so they wouldnt activate until a sackboy got near it, but all the checkpoints are still on all the time regardless as soon as the level starts and I dont know how to edit the checkpoint to activate when you get near it like in story mode or elsewhere.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong nor how to rectify it. Any help would be very appreciated.

Have you tried deleting the checkpoints and putting new ones up? That might fix whatever problem you're having2012-06-23 04:11:00

I deleted all of the checkpoints and readded them, also in different places. Both in create and play the checkpoints are always active and I am having the same trouble with characters jumping checkpoints when they die


I am even having trouble with characters being sent back half of the level when they die near the end of the level. How do you get checkpoints to stay deactivated until someone touches them?

I am guessing I ran into a problem that has been around on the LBP2 in that I had a versus level, which doesnt use checkpoints the same way as community. So, I changed it to community and they work fine now. Thanks for the help though 2012-06-23 06:12:00

What you CAN do is using sackbots. Controlled by a piece of hologram with a controllinator on it. This will cost some thermo. But it will be worth it.2012-06-24 11:32:00
