ok here's my take on the level, i just beat it yay:

stuff i liked: the panda monsters, they had their own funky MM look to them which made them more of your own creation, plus who doesn't love pandas right? most of the visuals looked good and i loved the gameplay you did on various parts, i liked the hinged thingy a lot lol and yours has a story, which is always a plus in my books

stuff i didn't like: there wasn't much i had a complaint with, but 1 thing was that every once in a while some stuff wouldn't fit into your panda themed level, such as your rubber spring thingies, it was cool wut they did, just didn't match as much, so really only thing i could say is if u can you should spruce up things like that, they say the littlest details impress the most

overall: really good level and i look forward to part 2 , i give it a 4 star on the rating(and that's because i believe almost none are perfect) and i'd give it an 8/10 on my own rating

Hey, just played your level and I enjoyed it! Loved the pandas, they looked a little bit ill which I guess was the directio9n you were aiming for there! A couple of things I would say though

-Im not a fan of sensors and keys etc being visible. the lift that takes you down to the sick pandas is a good example, make the switch out of dark matter and hide it out of place!
-Checkpoints are too high, Its a small inconvenience but forgetting to jump to get a checkpoint can be annoying if you die and go back to the start!

Overall though good level and let me know when you've got the second one up!

Lol thanks. I'll remember this for the next level.

Just finished playing the level, here are a few thoughts on it.

+ The pandas looked ok, very mad looking. And you built them, always a plus
+ None of MM's objects.
+ Solid, nothing broke down or forced a restart

- Needs work on detail
- Hide your switches

Basically this was a solid enough level. Its needs a tweak in detail here and there, and a basic tidy up with your switches and some materials dont quite fit the theme.

Good job!

+ All custom-made content.
+ A little story, simple, yet effective.
+ Some parts are really well designed.

- Some other parts looks less detailled compared to others.
- I agree with what GrantosUK said about the materials, some don't fit the theme. Simple fix.
- Checkpoints, I had to do a part twice because I forgot to jump. Another simple fix.

Overall, nice level. I enjoyed playing it,
and I'll wait for the second part.

If you have some time, I would like to have some comments too on a level I published recently. The link is in my signature. Thanks!

I just beaten Pandamonium (3rd on the scoretable...).

+Liked the panda and the fact you used custom objects.
+I love the swinging parts (IMO)

-The rubber platforms doesn't fit (sticker them green at least), as well as the purple gas that took me out of the jungle...
-The falling cage that brings you to the sick panda zone killed me once.
-The other cage, near the end of the level, when you have to jump out, actually swings making difficult to jump
-I don't like visible switches and sensors as well as the 'cube' thing to drag around...

Overall I enjoyed.

Ranked ****.

Lol, I thought the 4 stars was for a swear word.
I was trying to hide the rubber platforms with the giant pieces of bamboo. Then I realized it didn't work, but I was already done with the level. I do realize the problem with the cage, I was playing this level with 4 people and some people simply didn't go in the cage, they just skipped it, And the other elevator, I don't know why it goes up so fast! I have it set for like, 15 seconds, but instead it just goes up in 1. I've realized people don't like visible switches, so I'll be getting rid of them for the second one. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Awesomemans, I just played you level and here is my feedback:

Pros:
Nice Panda design, I like the look of them and think you could add some other panda designs to use as obstacles.

Good flow to the level.

Like the story theme of it, but think you could expand more in the story.

Cons:
I didn't like the background with the buildings. Made me feel like I wasn't in panda jungle. Pick a background that only shows trees or move the whole level up so you only see the tree tops from that theme maybe?

Do something different with the floating gas everywhere.

Hide the switches.

The ending where you are taken up into the air and there is a floating metal platform doesn't tie in with the story. I would just put the score board with some pandas around it.

Overall it was a fun level and I enjoyed playing it.

Thanks for the feedback. The ending is supposed to be like that though. But I forgot to put in story parts near the end!

I should go back and put something in there, so you understand what happens.

Let me explain. You some weird building in Panda Forest, which you explore to see if it has anything to do with the sick pandas. And that's where the 2nd part takes place. As a matter of fact...I just copied the ending spot from Pandamonium one into the second one!

Soo, I agree with pretty much everything that has been said. Particularly hide the switches and try to make the level look less basic. The background did not really fit either. If you had just elevated the whole level you could have used the bamboo trees in the background which would have been perfect or you. could make a custom background with bamboo branches and other decorations. I noticed you have said a few times, I will remember that for the next level. While it's good to implement feedback into future levels why not change them in this one? The sign of true dedication is the ability to see something isn't perfect and fix it. Even after it's been "Finished" well that's it. Pretty solid level, I thought the pandas looked a little weird but most people liked that so I would keep that look. One of the most important things regarding feedback is knowing when to ignore it.2009-01-14 18:48:00

I liked the things that were in your level, not all of them but you have some good ideas and solid custom content.
It seems pretty bug free to me but some extra decorations here and there might have helped.

Some things to keep in mind for the next one (or not )

- More decoration
- Different background
- Put some original twist to the standard swinging and jumping parts
- Make it a bit harder
- Add a bossfight
- Make most of the switches invisible (or not if you left them visible for a reason)

I think you have the skill and I would like you to surprise us with your next level. You can do some wacky original stuff with those pandas, lower those checkpoints and make it a bit harder and I will play the next one for sure.

Tried out the level tonight and it's cute. Your Pandas are sweet and there's a story running through the level which I like. The platforming elements are solid and fun without being too frustrating. The only thing that needs a little TLC, imo, is the level of details in the level as a whole.

Even without the detail work to kick it up a notch this is a fun level to play. Nice work.
