Cool. I bought it on PS2 but didn't get very far into it. It was different than what I was expecting... more RPG-ish. But shall be picking this up. It's going to look amazing in HD .2012-06-20 01:30:00

What happened to Okami 2?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okamiden Is as close to a sequel as we're going to get.

Okami is one of those games that gets crtitcal acclaim, praise from those that bought it and terrible sales.

Okami was one of my favorite PS2 games! Hopefully this does well and they do make Okami 2...because I found everything there was to find and don't need to play it again (also can still play the PS2 version if I really wanted). Didn't Clover Studios get shut down because the first game didn't do well?2012-06-20 01:57:00

Okami HD Coming Exclusively to PS3 With PlayStation Move Support This Fall

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7085/7404413550_e988f99318_z.jpg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evRYEFzAY8w&hd=1

Grab your Celestial Brush! I’m pleased to confirm that this fall, gamers will be able to return to the land of Nippon in Okami HD, exclusively on the PS3 with PlayStation Move support. Initially released to critical acclaim on the PS2, Okami HD has the player take on the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, who inhabits the form of a wolf. After a tyrannical monster, Orochi, turns the world into a ruined, colorless wasteland, Amaterasu must use her magical abilities to restore the land to its previous glory and defeat the demon in charge of the destruction.

Okami HD brings Amaterasu’s epic tale to the PS3 with fully integrated HD graphics and widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. I did not think it was possible to make the game look even better, but when I saw it for myself, I was a believer. The trademark sumi-e ink art style lends itself perfectly to HD, allowing players to experience more of the awe-inspiring world displayed in more detail than ever before.

To create an even more immersive experience, you can take your PlayStation Move motion controller and use it as your own Celestial Brush and naturally make brush strokes to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. That said, if you’re just in the mood to relive Okami in HD with the same controls as you had on your PS2, you can also play with your traditional PS3 controllers.

To top things off, we know everyone loves Trophies, so Okami HD will support PS3 Trophies, (including a Platinum) giving you new challenges to face and feats to complete. Okami HD will be available for download exclusively on PS3 in North America and Europe this fall.

$19.99 ?15.99 €19.99 http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=479176 http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2012/06/20/kami-hd-puts-the-celestial-paintbrush-back-into-players-hands-with-playstation-move/

Normally I'd be waiting for a sale with a digital price like that but Okami is worth it.

I love Okami! This looks like it'll be great and with the low price I urge anyone with a Move to pick it up. I've finished both Okami and Okamiden (which is also brilliant) however, so I'll probably leave it. That and my PS3 is in a conservatory which means I can pretty much only play it in the dark because of all the light (I'd did it when I played the Wii version to).

I'll be honest I'm all for HD remakes and Okami is certainly a great game. However 20 euro seems a bit steep. 15 would acceptable and pretty much on par with the price per game of the collections (maybe still a little more expensive). I'm pretty pure I'm going to wait for a little price drop. Maybe it seems a bit cheap but this is a HD upgrade of a (admittedly excellent) 6 year old PS2 game. And 20 euro just seems a bit greedy. And I thought we had sorted out the whole $ does not = € prices :-/.2012-06-21 20:30:00

Interesting that you mention Zelda...people always want to compare this game to Zelda. I just don't get it, what exactly do they have in common beyond the superficial?!?

Semi-open world exploration with puzzle solving/ dungeons? That's what I'm comparing it to. That's what I want from more games: Puzzle solving in an open world like Zelda or Metroid.

That and back in the run up to release we had Zeldaish game with a wolf as the main character and a Zelda game with link as a wolf doing the pre-release hype at the same time.

San Diego Comic-Con (http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/comic-con12/) doesn?t want for distractions ? famous graphic novelists greet their fans, uber-limited edition collectables line sprawling tables, and cosplayers roam the halls by the thousands.
When I learned that Capcom (http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/capcom/) would be showing Okami HD (http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/okami-hd/) at their booth, all of those attractions quickly dropped in importance; I knew where my Comic-Con would kick off.
Mere seconds after the doors of the San Diego Convention Center opened for business, Capcom?s (http://www.capcom.com/us/) Tristan Corbett (http://blog.us.playstation.com/author/tcorbett/) handed me a PlayStation Move (http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/playstation-move/) motion controller and I beheld Japanese sun goddess-turned-canine Amaterasu in full HD glory for the first time.
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8011/7556673354_9032ebb2ae_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/7556673354/)
Not all HD remakes are created equal, but Hexa Drive?s effort clearly isn?t just a soulless re-processing. With the PS3 (http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/ps3/)?s hardware muscle to play with, they?re working to improve draw distance and load times over the PS2 original (http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/okami-ps2.html). The cel-shaded visuals up-rez quite nicely, with the game?s iconic bold, black outline strokes popping off the HD display. All cutscenes have been fully recreated, and areas of the game that the team felt weren?t up to snuff were re-textured by hand. It looks stunning.
Corbett informed me that this is the first HD remake that Capcom will release outside of Japan featuring full 1080p HD. That high-end resolution, coupled with the new 16:9 aspect ratio, help Okami?s insane level of visual intricacy stand out significantly more than on the PS2. The game lavishes layers upon layers of visual effects: while approaching a seaside cave, I noticed violet mist pouring forth from a foul portal as wind visibly blows off the sea. Bold lines express the speed of dog deity at a canter, as vibrant flora spring forth from the soil underneath her life-giving paws.
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7272/7553348356_a10a60be05_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/7553348356/) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8154/7556673542_d6bd6c3423_n.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/7556673542/)
The team even lets you play with filter effects in this version; opt for ?Heavy,? and the sky appears to have been painted on a rough scroll, making things pop with a timeless, storybook look. It's may be clich?d to say, but I can?t help but think that Okami HD is a more pure expression of the vision that Clover Studio had when they created the game in 2006.
Okami HD?s enhanced visuals only represent half of the new package. This PS3 (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/) exclusive also supports PlayStation Move (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/playstation-move-motion-controller-ps3.html) controls, with a Navigation Controller (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/playstation-move-navigation-controller-ps3.html). Those that struggled with the thumbstick when painting with Amaterasu?s Celestial Brush may find salvation in motion control ? hold the T-button to bring up the canvas, then and press the Move to deploy ink as you sketch with Ammy?s paint power. After a few tries, I was rejuvenating dying cherry blossoms with tight circles and power slashing through guarding enemies via a well-placed horizontal line. Of course, Dualshock 3 (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/dualshock-3-wireless-controller-ps3.html) controls are supported, and control just as you may remember.
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8164/7553348752_3464073acb_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/7553348752/) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8006/7553348592_71a43b73e7_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/7553348592/)
I tried to sneak a peek at the PSN (http://blog.us.playstation.com/category/psn/) Trophy list, but Capcom had not yet implemented them into this build of Okami HD. Fortunately, Corbett promised to share the final Trophy list here on PlayStation.Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/), and it's been confirmed that there will be a Platinum up for grabs.
Okami HD is coming exclusively to PSN (http://us.playstation.com/psn/) this fall for $19.99. Got any questions? We?ll aim to address them in a future post.

ASDFGHJKLK One of my favourite games as a child! I finished the story and completed almost every side objective, the only single thing I never managed was to destroy the wall-thing in the nine-tail fox boss's (?) temple. Having to remember the position of all dots was too much Must buy, given that it was such a beautiful game :32012-08-25 20:46:00

Aw man. I already got the Wii version, and them motion controls can be a bit tedious. I'd probably like it more with a Dualshock controller anyway. It's a beautiful game though, although I'm still around the beginning. My one major complaint though was sheer lack of save points. Unless I passed by a save point and I didn't know, it took over an hour for me to reach a second save point I believe, which made me want me to take a break from the game for a while. Hopefully that won't be the case with every playthrough. 2012-08-25 22:19:00

You don't memorise the dots, you record them and use that as a guide.

There's a save point on all the major maps some even double as the fast travel system later.

The HD restoration of eye-melting action/adventure epic Okami is due this Halloween as a digital download on PS3 for ?19.99 / ?15.99, Capcom has announced.

It will come out the previous day in the US for $19.99.
Okami HD supports Move compatibility, 1080p resolution and trophies. It's also bloody brilliant.
The conversion is being handled by Capcom and HexaDrive, the studio responsible for Rez HD's remastering. It looks gorgeous, as can be seen in the just released Tokyo Games Show trailer below.

Indeed. I'm currently at the sunken ship, actually beat the level but I got swallowed by the Water Dragon afterwards. And there's a trophy you can only get that one time by not being eaten by it, and since there wasn't a save point, now I need to do the entire dungeon over again because I want platinum my first playthrough.

Fun. <_>

When you use the item you get from that dungeon later make sure you battle a fire mirror enemy its the only one in the game and you can't go back until new game +

also

4 or less Game Over and Continues.
550 Enemies or more defeated.
4 Million or more yen (YES you can spend it, they count the TOTAL amount).
300 or more demon fangs (YES you can spend these)

I think everything you can buy with yen/fangs/praise comes to more than those totals. the poo bomb needed for one of the other trophies costs half the needed money total.2012-11-15 16:55:00

I COULD be done, but I'm trying to do everything before I beat the game so that I get the platinum as soon as I beat the final boss. So I've got only a few trophies left, and about 38 hours in... the final two Demon's gate trials (already did the first one) will be tough, though. :/ Oh well.2012-12-08 00:52:00

I got the bulk of the side stuff done as I went along so I wasn't left with much to finish before the point of no return.

The second gate isn't that much harder than the first ( did tackle it later than the first so the stronger weapons and extra health probably balanced it a little) the cash for health mat between battles was enough to get through it. The third needed about 20 full health items and a few astral pouches.

Ok, pretty much done everything aside from the final gate and the final boss.Got tons of supplies for the final gate, so hopefully it won't be that tough... or at least I can do it on my first try XD

Question, though. Is the Ark of Yamato a dungeon or just the final boss?

Also, if I got the Clay Flyer and the Fire Doom Mirror, are there any other enemies I should be on the watchout for before I go into the Ark?
