Help!!! Naux question

Archive: 6 posts

So I was playing LBP yesterday and my friend MW dropped in to show me some new items he had been working on. I already had another person PG78 on my moon. When MW spawned into the level, he had a stationary, mindless, bare sackboy that spawned with him. It was not another player, I checked. PG78 and I went to check out the mindless sackboy. We noticed that not only did MW have a mindless drone with him, but on the Z plane, MW stood about 1 theck layer forward on the same plane as myself and PG78. I took MW to a level by Winnie240 (I think that was it) and had MW walk into the water to see if he swam instead of walked. The level said if you were nauxed you would swim instead of just walking through the water. MW passed the water test, he walked through the water instead of swimming. I read that nauxed sackboys stand further back, not further forward. Is this another possible type of naux? Is naux contagious? By contagious I mean if I were to spawn into a level with a nauxed sackboy, would I get nauxed too? Has anyone seen this strange occurrence of a mindless drone? I checked with MW and he didn't even know about the duplication glitch, let alone how to do it. He said the drone started following him after he had done a level the night before. It was there in his pod when he spawned the next day. Every level he went to, it was just there. There was no separation countdown when he ran and left the drone off screen. It would reappear randomly in the level in front of him. Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated. 2012-06-18 22:16:00

So its worse than I thought. I bought a couple of DLCs yesterday and my son and daughter played along with me. Their sack people stood in front of me as well. I went to all of the available Naux test levels to check and see if I could verify my being nauxed. I passed all of the tests. I don't drown in shallow water. My jump height and run speed are not affected. I cannot jump through the theck layer. My character is not shorter than normal, he just stands a little further back. Whatever is affecting me is also affecting my friend PG78 because he and I stand on the same layer. here are some pics. I'm on the left, my sons sackboy is on the right.

I read the artical last night. That is what prompted me to attempt to jump through the theck layer. I cannot jump through the theck layer as described. I did the bolt resize fix. My sackboy did not change height or move forward on the z plane. I definitely appreciate the suggestion though. Thank you Any other suggesions or recommended people that may have insight in this situation?2012-06-19 20:09:00

Well, going by your pictures and description, I can say I'm 90% certain you haven't actually got the glitch. Naux'd Sackboys don't actually stand further back, any Sackperson will stand back depending on the amount of players on a single plane. The only visual symptom is that your Sackperson will appear to be crouching as though he has a block of material over his head, and I can tell from your pictures that neither Sackperson is crouching.

If you failed the water test, it was most likely a fluke, as the test cannot determine perfectly if you have the glitch or not, as depending on how you enter the water, you may stand or float. The only 100% positive way to know if you have the glitch is if you drown while swimming at the surface, and cannot doggy paddle as per normal situations. As you have said that you do not drown, and your only symptom is being further back in a layer, which is completely normal, you have no glitch whatsoever. So happy glitch-free gadding
