b40njwMy newest level, yet again, wood design xD This is a fairly hard and fast paces platformer level, starting from the very top of the level space and goes all the way down! Give it a go It failed to connect to LBP.me for some reason.. so heres the link http://lbp.me/v/b40njw PLEASE tell me about ANY bugs or things that you think could be improved Not sure how to add screenshots probably, so here's just some links... 40385 40386 40387 40388 | 2012-06-17 22:00:00 Author: AcAnimate Posts: 174 |

To whom it may concer: You should definetly play this level! It was very cool! | 2012-06-18 01:33:00 Author: Unknown User |
The pics you posted sure were a treat to look at! Here's my review, after playing through your level. (By the way, just to tell you beforehand, when reviewing, I play a person's level while I review it, so you might notice that I go through the different sections, sharing my thoughts about not just general topics such as game-play and visuals, but sometimes, specific moments in the level as well.) Things sure start off looking nice real quickly. You've done a wonderful job representing this wooden theme, the orange tubes look great, and the use of 3d as walls over to the left and right work well. I like how you described this sorta like Tower of Whoop, but instead of going up, you're going down, and I kinda wish you were more true to that comparison, as that would make the level even better. See, the way you presented it, grabbing onto the spinning circles, and how certain parts kind of move you along themselves like a Rude Goldberg machine, yet still forcing you to be ready to grab, move or jump, makes the level just scream "Fast paced", but it isn't. The music itself sounds like it's for slower-paced platformers. ( and I don't have any beef with slower-paced platformers, as they are a very necessary component to LBP levels as a whole) In my opinion, this work even better if you amped up the speed some more. Why? Because it's already kind of fast-paced on some sections, it's just that some parts make it slow down a little. Also, you've got a sort of primary path, going down, which can be pretty important if you're going to go 80 miles per hour, plus you've already fit in plenty of signs to help guide/warn you throughout. Here's how it could be more fast-paced, if you agree with the points I made. 1. Music could be changed to something much....how do you say it...speed-ier? Obviously, I'm not talking about some sort of techno synthesizer music, as that most likely wouldn't work real well with the woodwork theme, but maybe look around some, I'm sure there's a song that could sound more active, yet still fit your level's theme. 2. I'd make a few modifications to the environment maybe. For example, you could make those peach-colored floors slippery, I know some of them already are, but I think others can be implemented the same way, in fact, maybe all of them should. That way you can easily identify them as slides, or slippery platforms, which won't force you into thinking too much if you're going to blaze by. 3. Make it a race, or, perhaps at least give the option for a 'race mode'. Speed would be more the name of the game, just like Tower of Whoop, as people might feel more geared towards speeding through the nifty obstacle course presented before them. Like I've said many times before to other people, it is your level, and it's entirely up to you, it's just that, for my job as a reviewer, I throw things out there that I think could work, and I think that could really work wonders, but hey, maybe that's just me, feel free to give it some thought though. ^^ Moving on, I see that a race flag-board is in fact added in later on. I still think though that the race should start at the beginning of the level, not later on, mostly because the race is over before you know it i.m.o., and it wouldn't be like that, had it been there at the very start of things. Overall, this was a real fun level, and had some features put in that could make it a great racing level, and with the work of some modifications, it can be an even better treat. Good design, and the angles never got in the way, although I think the music could be changed. No glitches were found during my playthrough. | 2012-06-18 02:02:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
Pretty fun level. It had it's moments that seemed a little slow compared to others, though. The music kept distracting me, though... It sounded so familiar. I placed it right as I finished, and had to play the level again just to be sure. Is the really the theme from Rozen Maiden? | 2012-06-18 02:31:00 Author: SuddenEnigma Posts: 70 |

Just as I published the level I started thinking of making the entire level a Race, which I'm sure I'll do As for the music, I knew it wouldn't fit as a fast paced platformer, simply because the music was chosen in a rush... I first published the level and totally forgot about music, So I needed to add music before people started playing it xD The slippy peach-colored floors have already been implemented, But I removed it, due to 90% of my friends / people testing it for me before I released it, said that it sometimes was too hard or confusing if all the peach-colored floors was slippy. So I decided to just make them slippy at the most needed places, and then they were all happy with it | 2012-06-18 07:16:00 Author: AcAnimate Posts: 174 |

Really fun to play, I didn't find it hard as you say. Nice visuals, new obstacles, enjoyed every second playing it. | 2012-06-18 14:35:00 Author: BillyCrash100 Posts: 134 |

Haha, yeah.. almost everyone who tested the level for me before release said that it was hard xD Glad you enjoyed it, currently working another level, with similar look / theme but more fast paced than this one | 2012-06-18 19:16:00 Author: AcAnimate Posts: 174 |
It's the theme from the Monsters level kit Odd, because they sound almost exactly the same. I even played the actual song... Guess they could both be based on a classical piece. | 2012-06-18 19:28:00 Author: SuddenEnigma Posts: 70 |

Just played this. I thought it was a pretty good score challenge. I might come back to improve score. I didn't really see a problem with the level, then again it said you fixed some bugs and things. Gameplay was fun and fast paced. Theme was simple and clean. Loved the concept of a reverse Tower of Whoop. All in all it was an enjoyable level deserving of a heart. ^^ My level for F4F: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=71559-Path-of-Rising-Skill | 2012-06-19 15:47:00 Author: Hana_Kami Posts: 393 |

aw man, I played this like six times and still can't get out of 65th place. Great level. I loved the design and the fast pacedness of it. I also like the choice of paths to take. Very cool level. enjoyed it immensely. | 2012-06-19 22:09:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

Very cool level. enjoyed it immensely. Thanks man! The different paths all started when I first designed the top part, I wanted it to be symmetric, and then it just kinda went off from there | 2012-06-20 14:03:00 Author: AcAnimate Posts: 174 |
I gave this a go yesturday. What a fun level! So much fun I hearted it, and the author who created it. Great work! | 2012-06-20 14:09:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |
Really fun level. The obstacles are creative, and the visuals looked cleaned with right material choices and good use of tube objects. The score bubble combos are great, too. I think the race could use longer time, and the music could be a faster one in this kind of level. But the rest is well done. Another job well done on a fun platforming level. VISUALS: 4.5/5 SOUND: 3.5/5 GAMEPLAY: 5/5 OVERALL: A yay and heart F4F one of my levels linked on my signature if you have time | 2012-06-24 23:12:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
Consider it queued... I'll be sure to check it out and return with feedback and links to levels of my own for you to check out. | 2012-08-06 07:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
