The Labyrinth

Archive: 10 posts

I've always been dissapointed with most Mazes on LBP, so I decided to make one of my very own!
Here it is! In all it's splendor- improved from my old LBP1 maze. Bigger! Cleaner! Much more fun!
And featuring excellent music from some of my closest pals- and always looking for more!
Can you defeat it?

What are people saying about this level?

GECUK: "After several minutes of my time spent on this maze, I finally got to the Scoreboard, and drinking water like a mad man! Superb work you've done here! Great choice of musics and I like how you added a 'Rage quit' option. Great work! "

PlayForFun: "OMIGOSH,MAN! <;D This sort of stuff HAS to be on cool pages,FUN stuff! And I wouldn't mind a challenging lvl every now and then FINISHED IT!!! YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT! And totally deserves more plays "

(Sorry about the lack of images. Nothing really seems to be working well right now for me. I may need to re-upload the thread)

You should really make a path through the circle, or through some of the other shapes. Now they just serve as rage quit bait.2012-06-17 11:51:00

Hopefully, that makes completing it in the end all the more satisfying >.<
I would have added a path in the circle, but I just feel it may have been to easy. To obvious.
I would hope people would realize that the center of an enclosed circle can't really lead to anywhere =D

Looks interesting and I love mazes. I will give this a go.

EDIT:
Ok, so I got around to playing this. I thought it was a really well made maze. I didn't really notice any issues, as least nothing that should effect gameplay. I knew the circle was a dead end without going too far in because of the zoom option. However, after not being able to find a new path around circle area I went to the center of it anyways just in case the possibility of it opening/activating a new path. Sure enough nothing. So I back tracked confused because the only way to that side of the maze (because big thick wall dividing 2 halves of maze) wa the way I came, and that's when I noticed the path turning up right after you pass that wall as continuing right leads to circle area. It was fun trying to reach the end. I thought the zoom feature was nice. Allowed for strategizing where to go next. Oh and I got first place with 150,000. I will say that I am completely confused of how scoring works.

Is scoring based on how long it takes player to finish? If so it would be nice to include what scores are giving for what time intervals and possibly have a visible timer on screen that shows how long they've been playing. This can also tell them if they've passed a certain deadline for a specific score. Of course if scoring doesn't work based on time then completely forget this suggestion. A yay and a heart from me. ^^

There is NO reason you should have gotten a score bigger then everyone else's >.< But anyone who gets a score of 0 did not complete that maze. That's really all you need to know. Thank you for the feedack! I'll check out your levels!2012-06-18 09:52:00

Played this today and was very impressed by the polished production standard of the level. A real challenge for people who like a more cerebral test and the handy rage quit function is a good addition. Great choice in music you can toggle as you wander round the maze in search of the exit.
Maybe you could implement an easy mode for people who lack the necessary patience? maybe a function where could emit waypoints as a guide for the strugglers like me.

I like doing mazes with pencil and paper. This one looks great but after backtracking and running into deadends I had to abandon my efforts after about 10 minutes. I agree with Enoch, you should implement some sort of easy mode. maybe once you've been down a path 2 or more times, it lights up or something to signal that you've already been there. Looks great, wish I could have finished it though. good work.2012-06-19 22:23:00

I noticed that the maze is in sections, and using the zoom out feature, it's not terribly hard to see in what general direction you need to go. Maybe you should have a race gate at the beginning, or maybe even secret score bubbles hidden deep in the maze. This level has a lot of potential, and I'd really like to see you go further with it.2012-06-20 23:12:00
