Welcome to Episode 87?s bumper crop of fantastic levels, courtesy of the spotlight team and you - LBPC's awesome and growing number of superb creators! We on the spotlight crew think that 19 levels in the Spotlight has to be some kind of record (not to mention the amazing nods!). We?re not quite sure what they?re putting in the water in LBP these days but whatever it is, it's producing some pretty awesome results! So stop whatever you?re doing and get these awesome levels queued and played. It will be time well spent, I promise!

In the nick of time (although it must have been a baptism of fire!) we welcome stryder12 to the Crew ? he?s been putting us vets to shame already with his drive and enthusiasm ? long may it last!

So without further ado, here is this Episode?s crop of great levels:

PS3 Spotlight

http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/bfed9237cd46ef9721a5010cbe6ea30d97c7b827.pngMetall ic Cave (1 Player)Mish80 This level is for 1 player only. Special thanks to D_Olive and the Labo testers of LBP-France.net !

Are you ready for this? Are you sure? Ok, here it is. The first and certainly not the last of these you'll hear in this spotlight. Whoa! Are you blanking with me? The level floored me the moment I stepped off that platform. Just the surrounding environment looked completely cool and nothing like I'd seen before. Then moving forward you encounter a plethora of cool contraptions, one of which is one of the coolest teleportation systems you will ever see. The gameplay is a bit of a puzzle platformer and will have you going back and forth in order to progress to baddest scoreboard around! Trust me, this was MMpicked for a reason. This is a fresh, puzzle-based platformer with some of the best usage yet of the Attract-O-Gel material. Featuring some novel new obstacles and play design, there are also some amazing gadgets to behold as you wind your way back and forth to unlock the final door. This keeps you on your toes the entire time and never bores...it's definitely one you'll want to play again! In this new level, Mish80 delivers some truly extraordinary gameplay that was enjoyable throughout the level. As the level title states, the environment is littered with metallic structures and rocky faces to provide an ideal backdrop for this platformer. I especially enjoyed the mechanics and design behind the teleporters which your character uses frequently to travel to different areas in the level and then back to the main room. Some of the gameplay includes clever usage of attracto-gel on moving platforms and the use of motion sensors to activate different platforms. If you haven?t checked out this MM Pick yet, you?re really missing out on a great level!

Ten-hut! Prepare to take command in this RTS and lead your battalion to victory. Ostler5000 provides you with a full arsenal consisting of anything from fast-moving micro tanks to antiaircraft vehicles fitted with flak cannons to take out enemy vehicles and aircraft on your way to completing your mission. Any private can easily get the hang of the well-developed controls, so I strongly encourage you to give this level a shot and battle your way to victory.Ostler5000 has gone and made a great, functional RTS within the confines of Little Big Planet. As soon as I spawned in the briefing area, I knew this was something special indeed. Highly detailed and informative so that even the novice can quickly grasp the concept, you'll find it just as amazing as I did, and that's just the briefing area! Go to the map and choose your location and whether playing solo or with a partner and whisked away to start the campaign. Now here's where it really takes your breath. The different terrains are wonderfully crafted and there are tons of different vehicles to both control and attack. The gameplay is easy to grasp and the smiles will be plentiful when you sign up as a soldier in the Microwars.

http://ic.lbp.me/img/bl/a9ceafc20101b679a9fa377eda18e417e4323b41.pngColass al Canyons!bikerider12 Explore the Colassal Canyons through jumping, grabing and of corse, running. Thanks again to Nk for his music, Just_tom and Hyperdude for testing, and all my other friends for help and support!

Bikerider offers to us another one of his fantastic platfomers for our amusement and enjoyment. You'll love the creative design and all the clever, unique and wonderful contraptions on display here. You will be filled with several emotions as you run, leap, swing and bounce your way to the top of the scoreboard. You will experience awe and admiration for a well designed level. You'll encounter joy and pride when you successfully make that seemingly difficult leap of faith. You may even encounter anger when your sackboy gets singed time and time again when missing that what looks to be easy jump. Don't fret though. Take a breath, look at the situation and you'll be just fine and you'll see that you love this level just as much as I do when you complete you hike in the Colossal Canyons. This platformer seems simple because it plays so beautifully smoothly and has the perfect balance of fun and challenge but this kind of ?simplicity? is not at all easy to pull off. Bikerider does it brilliantly. The gameplay weaves seamlessly in and out of the layers and has you swinging, grabbing and making perfect jumps through the abstract and colourful manmade canyons. You?ll find yourself dancing on hot coals too, as these canyons are peppered with fiery hazards and you?ll need to leap rashly into the flames trusting in a quick bounce to bring you out the other side, singed but in one piece. The backdrop is a glorious mix of muted reds and rusty oranges, patterned and plain, all blended together to create a distinctive and attractive style and the custom music adds the perfect finishing touch. ?Simply? a joy to play.Another fantastically crafted platforming adventure is upon us! Bikerider has shoved this amazing level so full of fantastic, original, and fun gameplay, that I'm absolutely sure you'll be having a blast until your little sack-feet hit the scoreboard. But the quality doesn't end here! Beautiful LBP1-esque visuals and charm emanate gloriously through every nook and cranny of this platformer, making the experience even better. Why don't you land your pod in the Colossal Canyons and become ensnared in the fantastic, noglastic fun right now!? It's totally worth it! This level is truly just a great example of a platformer. Perfect balance of entertainment and challenge throughout made even dying at certain sections just a part of the experience. The level just keeps the player at a constant pace throughout while traversing each obstacle and provides several opportunities to string together a nice multiplier to boost your score. I found myself playing through this a couple times after figuring out different sections and discovering the best way to get high multiplier going. Spoiler: Bring your flame retardant pants because you may get toasted a few times as your character frantically bounces of the fire towards the next platform!

http://i9.lbp.me/img/bl/f69ad88204a7b423a4419754c40f5c936ef5a6cc.pngSecret Sack Agent-Recruitment (Intro)(1 player)jakeinator123 The CUSA needs YOU for your special skills! http://i1.lbp.me/img/bl/0814d62148c25f8bb01a01f2e811892b227082ea.pngMagica l Pearl for Magical BreeksFuzzbreeks Indulge yourself into these alluring lands where faries can joyfully play and prance. For you must begin the perilous peril, for the magical breeks...

Contraptions, contraptions and even more contraptions, is what you'll find in this lovely new level from Fuzzbreeks. You'll love the charming design here and maybe even get a little nostalgia feeling from the LBP1ish theme. He even has a flaming snake from the Canyons theme! Enter the level and you are immediately bounced around a bit before setting out on your journey. You're in search of...pants? Yep. Encounter moving walls, humorous characters and good, solid, fun gameplay when you load into this level. If I were to only have one word to describe Fuzzbreek's style, it would deffineatly have to be Spunky, or Funky, because his extremely unique level design and visual prowess shake me by the shoulders and scream the words! This level is no exception either! The particularly silly characters and plot will force you into a wide smile while his delightful platforming gameplay will stretch it even farther across your face! Don't miss out on this extremely unique, fun platforming experience, especially if you need a smile after a long day!

http://id.lbp.me/img/bl/5edbaa61fc9f2cdce443116b774b837e93a2d2f4.pngTimesh ift RuinsJustinArt Discover the ancient ruins where time can be reversed by Timeshift Orbs. Inspired by one of the puzzling events of "Zelda: Skyward Sword". Featuring the musics "Timeless Echoes" and "Dare 2 Rumble" by me.

One thing you can count on from Justinart is fresh ideas, unique gameplay and a solid story. And Wow! Does he deliver with this one. As an archaeologist you come across an orb that is able to shift time between past and present. Old things become new, new things become old, dead places are filled with life, and ancient contraptions come alive. With your newly acquired time shift orb, you'll have to solve puzzles and platform your way through a well designed environment to a dastardly villain intent on taking over the world. Justinart strikes again with another innovative level with an exellent gameplay element to boot! Your somewhat shady friend has tasked you with figuring out the secret to the power of the "Timeshift orbs", mystical spheres that are rumored to have the power to warp time! Justin's extremely innovative gameplay will have you staring wide-eyed at your tv screen saying "Wow! How did he do that!?", while also dazzling you with his awesome visual style! This is definitely a level you don't want to miss!

http://ic.lbp.me/img/bl/f9cf90c020e76a7675ea805bc70cbfdea2ef29cf.png LBN Tribute: Indiana Jones and the Amulet of Ra (Part 1) SX_Shookie99 [1 Player only] A newly discovered temple in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt draws the attention of Indiana Jones. While working late at Marshall College, a letter arrives and leads him on a quest to find the Amulet of Ra, a magical amulet which could open the temple door and unleash unspeakable power. But Dr. Jones isn't the only one who wants their hands on the amulet. Theme music by @Liquid_Blood_. Other track by @O165_vivaldi-NL.

Are you ready for an all new Indiana Jones adventure? Then get ready to embark on a journey for the Amulet of Ra! Professor Jones receives a letter telling of a mysterious amulet that could possible open the door of a newly discovered temple. Always the adventurer, Indy's research leads him to an ancient crypt where peril is around every corner. Of course this wouldn't be a Shookie level without there being some good solid gameplay involved. You'll bounce on nifty contraptions, use skulls as zip lines and then when you get the amulet, and enter the temple, you'll harness its powers to shift the environment to your liking. But be careful, for the temple is a dangerous place and something else is lurking here. Put on your fedora and strap on your bullwhip as you delve into Indiana Jones and the Amulet of Ra.Adventure is calling Indiana Jones once more as he sets off in search of the Amulet of Ra. The intro scene with the boulder chasing Dr Jones down a slope with the familiar soundtrack playing in the background will get you in the mood right away. With this series Shookie proves again that there?s no one better at creating great architecture. The quest for the amulet begins in a sinister crypt littered with skulls and draped in cobwebs, continues in an ancient catacomb even deeper beneath the cathedral before moving finally to the Temple of Ra itself. All of these environments are wonderfully realised with my favourite being the temple which is on a monumental scale and washed in sepia lighting which gives it a real sense of mystery and eeriness. There?s a great mix of story-telling and gameplay as you attempt to avoid the perils lurking underground and the traps set for you by the evil Richard Belloq and his cohorts. The difficulty ramps up nicely, culminating in Part 3 with a cool mechanic involving using L1 to interact with the environment and a boss fight with the ancient Ra himself. This is a series with bags of atmosphere and fun gameplay and is bound to appeal to anyone with a sense of adventure (and a bull whip!).

http://i1.lbp.me/img/bl/2e1889884efc91f1de380ae22b36043e40dea014.png(LBPC8 ) Raging Stream : 1player onlyyu-kamone In order to look for the city of the legend which exist in deep sea. However, you arrived at the way of a dangerous raging stream. You will find a legendary city across this raging stream!! This is my entry to the LBPC8 contest, This level is very fast underwater platformer. Somewhat hard. (1player only) -このステージはLBPC8参加作品です。深海に眠る伝説の都市を探し海へ潜る。しかし、運悪く激流の道に遭 遇。この激流を越えて伝説の都市を見つけだそう!

In this entry for the LBPC8 Aquatic Acceleration, yu-kamone has use blasting through a raging stream at top speed! The clever use of invisible platforms to propel the player through the various jet streams was ingenious and looked great with the bubble effect. But as you?re flying through this raging stream, be sure to get every last bit of air from the bubble machines scattered through the level. With your adrenaline going in this fast-paced level, it's easy to miss out on the great environment and scenery in this extraordinary aquatic adventure. I strongly encourage you to get your wetsuit and dive into this level headfirst. Well in honour of Bio, and because the level deserves it in any event, I?m gonna say both ?wow? and ?whoa?! That was one awesome thrill ride right there and in water too, which makes it truly amazing. Great visuals, ingenious gameplay and truly speedy to boot which, I have to confess, I wasn?t entirely sure was possible. Well, now we all know it is. I've only played it the once and a hearting pumping experience it was too ? but I know I?ll be playing again to improve my woeful score and to appreciate fully the gameplay on display here. That was pretty, brilliantly designed and fun ? I can only doff my hat and say kudos to the Yu-Kamone for creating something as unique as that. Even if you don't normally like water levels, you should definitely play this one because it will blow you out of the water ? literally!

http://i5.lbp.me/img/bl/97571ccd704aed7cf02429d04fbea6f232ea57ba.pngLBN TRIBUTE: Romeo & Juliet: Toy Tales: The Missing Capuletgrayspence All is not well at the Capulet Mansion! The place is a mess, the electricity bills have gone unpaid, and Juliet's toys are collecting dust! Adventure through Juliet's abode and find out whats gone wrong! A level by Grayspence for the LBN Tribute Contest. The first of three parts. The next part will be released eventually! Littlebignetwork.com/LBPcentral.com

It would appear that Juliet has been spending so much time with Romeo that she has neglected her room and her toys. Everything is in disarray and covered in dust and grime and the toys are fed up. They seek your aid in getting rid of that Romeo fella so that Juliet will come to her senses and spend more time at home. I was delighted when Gray published this level as it is filled with charm and style. The gameplay is a good solid platformer with plenty of cool mechanics at work. Run, jump, swing and bounce your way through this estate in your quest to get Juliet away from that no good Romeo.Things have gone awry in the Capulet household and Juliet?s neglected toys enlist your help to get rid of the problem, namely Romeo. All of which is the perfect excuse for some fun gameplay using the ?ropes? and ?ladders? used by Juliet to sneak out of the house. You?ll have a blast negotiating your way around the cleverly designed bouncepad and grappling hook sections and picking up the secret points bubbles as you go. The mansion setting is beautifully done in all its dusty forlornness and the toys that appear to help you out are quirky and appealing characters. This is a novel take on Shakespeare?s tale and far from being a story of woe, it?ll have you smiling from start to finish.

( MUSIC by 0165_Vivaldi-NL , FONTS by CompherMC ) 1 PLAYER RECOMMENDED

Every so often a level comes a long where you just sit in silence and stare in wonderment at the creation before you. This is one such level. There aren't enough "Whoa's" to fully explain my feelings for this masterpiece. Probably one of the most visually stunning levels you will encounter. Visuals aside, there is some fantastic gameplay involved as well. There are so many well designed and cool contraptions on hand, that you will never be bored. The level flows nicely from one area to the next and is well balanced in gameplay styles. Trust me, you have to see this level. You will not regret it. This is one of those levels that just has to be seen to be believed; gorgeous visuals will have your jaw scraping scraping the floor the entire time! But don't let that fool you, there's a lot more to this level than pretty looks... exciting gameplay and cool gadgets are also on the menu here. TheNotorious-187 has truly crafted something that excites all of your senses - make sure to check it out and don't forget to bring the sunscreen!

http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/5fe801053a2d88011119a1278c76b4b7abde861a.pngSoD: [Act 2-2] Assault and Battery Alley_Cat_8633 King Titus and the Gadals agree to help you with taking on the Hellraisers. However, the tables are turned when some unexpected visitors arrive. Part 2 of Act 2. 1 Player highly recommended to reduce lag and loading issues. Please enable subtitles! This is a remake. The old version took 4 hours to make. This version I started on back in August, 2011. Special Thanks to Razalor, XxRehab_RejectxX, Hammertoe_1, MuddledMuppet and Mrs. Alley_Cat!

This opening film to Alleycat's Spheres of Destiny series will reach right out and grab you with both hands. I was entranced the whole time. I literally could not look away. It's such a captivating story and the way A.C. tells it is just remarkable. The set design and the voice acting are flawless and you'll be reaching for that popcorn in no time. In the film the Hellraisers have come for the Life Sphere and start attacking. It segues beautifully into the next playable chapter that is equally as good, if not better since you are actually taking part in the story now. The playable portion has a real sense of urgency as things are blowing up and falling down around you as you try and make your escape to the sky dock. And of course, this wouldn't be an Alleycat level without tons of great contraptions to aid you in your quest. I give it 5 Whoa's out of 5 Anyone who likes a dash of drama with their platforming will love these remakes by Alley_Cat of Act 2 of his Spheres of Destiny series. The first is a cinematic intro setting up the story in which the Hellraisers launch a surprise attack on the Gadals. It has everything you?d want from a great movie: fantastic acting, dramatic battle scenes and a cute Sackgirl! The gameplay levels which follow don't disappoint either, as if anything the drama increases, as you find yourself amidst the Gadrals as fireballs rain from the sky and you need to find your way to the skydock to make your escape. It makes for an adrenalin filled platforming sequence as you dodge the fire and with the clock ticking against you, hurtle, crash and dash your way through the treetop village, avoiding the skirmishing factions as you go. This is one of those times when you get so involved in the excitement of the playing experience that it's only afterwards that you find yourself wondering at the amazing contraptions and brilliantly designed gameplay. I defy anyone not to be totally wowed by these levels . And in my books that has to be the ultimate compliment!

http://i7.lbp.me/img/bl/aa7043366fdbe7678cc06c6b4f318aaf7a1e6324.pngSand CastleSnakeOwl Welcome to Sand Castle There are 10 secret bubbles! And Secret Beach..シークレットバブルが10個あります。あとどこかにシークレットビーチがあるので探してみて ください。Special thanks aiko-ami, MUSIC by Taxok20 & Velvet--Audio

It's that time of year again. Summertime! That's right and what do a lot of people do in the summer? Why head to the beach of course. They frolic in the water, lay on the beach and soak up the rays and my favorite activity, build sandcastles. Well, for this level, Snakeowl has built the castle for us and we get to explore all the goodness it has to offer, and there's plenty to find. From secret score givers in secret rooms to a secret hidden beach, you'll be quite occupied for sure. As you explore the castle you'll encounter wonderful devices to bounce and grab onto as you admire the great scenery. What's truly great about this sand castle is that after you're done playing, you won't have a bunch of sand stuck in your pants! Yes, it's going to be a great summer indeed.Wow, this is a palace amongst sandcastles; gloriously big and with all sorts of nooks and crannies to explore. It even has stained glass windows! The summertime theme is refreshing ? I loved the secret beach with its gorgeous hangout spot. The gameplay is fresh too ? there are some ingenious and original contraptions on display and lots of fun to be had bouncing and grabbing your way through the castle and hunting down those elusive secret score bubbles. The great music livens things up even further and all in all this is one very cool summertime package ? colourful, creative and above all fun.

http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/f3ea074a7f43f78a884a509ea7e293d53f342f84.pngBiosho ck - Return to Rapture Part-1, 1 PLAYERlordwarblade 1 PLAYER ONLY! Based before Bioshock 2 you play as an alpha series big daddy called Omega. Awakened by a mysterious character called Artemus Quinn you set out to help Tenenbaum rescue the new little sisters that have started appearing in Rapture. Special Thanks to Mr_Fusion and Damaz10 for their help and Papanurgle for help with weapon logic.

We all make choices, but in the end, our choices make us. -- Andrew Ryan I'm a huge, grande, mega fan of the Bioshock series. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it possible to do a recreation within Little Big Planet. Lordwarblade has done just that. The level of detail is just astounding and I was "whoa'ing" the entire time and my eyes were just glued to the screen, scanning every amazing corner of Rapture. Every few seconds I made another proclamation of, "Wow! He even has that in there!" and "How!?" Upon entering Rapture, you find that you are a Big Daddy and true to the game, you are in search of little sisters. You must protect them from the splicers and then lead them back to their "holes." The game mechanics worked extremely well for as complex as they are and as I already stated, the environment will blow you away. Now, Would you kindly queue this level.Well, this is definitely my Episode for revealing a lack of gaming and other cult experiences (Goonies) in my background so I?ll confess straightaway to never having played Bioshock, just to get the embarrassment over and done with early. Having said that, it's a tribute to the care and attention that has gone into this level that I nonetheless found the whole experience truly immersive and enthralling. The story is set up beautifully and despite the complexity of the underlying premise and the gameplay itself. I didn?t get too lost at all. There are plenty of hints and explanations to help you along the way (I loved all the little posters, ?ads? and audio logs) but there?s still enough challenge left in the puzzle elements to keep you interested. The rest of the time I just spent soaking up the amazing details and atmosphere. I could have spent ages just wandering around the 1950s diner and looking in awe at all the wonderful little touches like the champagne glasses. Outstanding stuff and I cannot begin to understand the logic behind it. So whether you?re a hardened Bioshock fan or a complete novice like me, there?s a huge amount to enjoy in this level.

http://i4.lbp.me/img/bl/5546154344917d5e3c8349fc09a7f51e5cea7485.pngSackto ry : Intro level D4RKSM0K3HUNT3R wellcome, sackboys and sackgirls ! by a brand new adventure called sacktory. The evil sackbot boss has been creating sackbots to help him take over the world. You're the only one that can stop him !? . Have fun

We've got us here another fantastic series with a great intro film. The intro starts with us on a little vacation in our RV. We've got our camp set up and just minding our own business when out of nowhere we're attacked and kidnapped. Then we find ourselves imprisoned in some sort of demented prison factory and must make an escape. The level design here is wondrous, it's moody, it's dark and full of rust and grime. The gameplay, if it's possible, surpasses the visuals with a multitude of contraptions that will leave you shaking your head in amazement. What a great series this is! Head on into the Sacktory and see what trouble you can find. You know you?re in for a treat when a series opens with an intro as good as this one. The little campsite with the camper van with its table and chairs is charming but the idyll is soon broken when the villainous sackbut boss appears out of the skies and snatches you (and the camper van!) and carries you off to his evil ?sacktory?. The sacktory is suitably dark and sinister, lit by the glow of fire and the flicker of electricity. The visuals are genuinely top notch and create a superbly gloomy setting for the wonderful gameplay. Some great obstacles lie between you and your escape from the factory and you?ll need all your skill and dexterity to come through unscathed. It's a true adventure that?ll have you gripped with its shadowy, menacing atmosphere and great gameplay.

http://i6.lbp.me/img/bl/75678596532fbe18693de55a4c7692d02f48d367.png[LBN TRIBUTE] My Little Pony: Racing is Magic! Mnniska Pick your favourite pony and race against your friends while boosting, throwing bombs and cursing in the beatiful land of Equestria! Created for 2-4 players, the more the merrier! This level is based of the rather awesome tv show My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic. Huge thanks to WeirdyBeardy for the music! Enjoy!

On your mark, get set, and get ready for some amazing pony fun! Mnniska's entry to the LBN Tribute contest strikes the competition hard with supremely balanced versus gameplay, dangerously cute visuals, and spot on references to the insanely popular "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" cartoon. Mnniska proves the cartoon is worthy of the name by pumping in so much multiplayer insanity that it's simply a crime to play it alone. So please don't forget to grab a few chums! I'm not part of this My Little Pony craze so reluctantly I pressed play. I may have to check out this Little Pony stuff because this was great! Grab a buddy and load into the level and you are immediately greeted with rays of sunshine and little ponies across the stage. Now I don't know who these ponies are but apparently my daughters do as they were shouting at the screen, "There's Rainbow Dash and Twilight and Pinky Pie!" We began our race after watching the brief tutorial on how to play. I was enthralled with the tutorial and would have been satisfied if that's all there were to the level but there was more goodness in store. Race Time! Ponies to your gates! And they're off! The ponies immediately had us giggling at how they rolled across the terrain and the effects of the boost and power slam were hilarious as well. The course was exciting and had a few puzzles mixed in like having to use the power slam to open gates. We finished the race in grand style and stood atop the podium victors, well one of us was anyway. I truly loved this level and think that if I, a non-MLP fan, can enjoy it, then so can you.

http://i8.lbp.me/img/bl/3a85bc40d74785971bdd11911e44512da61e5c29.pngFreeze r BurnL1GhTmArE As Sackboy is sailing the high tides of the ocean he takes a wrong turn and docks...inside of a freezer?! Explore the frigid area and see what your bot mates has uncovered. Play by yourself for the best experience! Also there are 3 secrets to be found so have fun exploring!

Wow, Sackboy seriously needs a refresher course in sailing if he can manage accidentally to sail into a freezer! Still it's lucky for us that he has navigation skills as reliable as those of Jack Sparrow?s compass or we wouldn?t have got to experience this amazing adventure. L1ghtmare has proved once again, if proof were needed, that he is one of the best creators out there. He makes superb use of the slippery properties of this icy environment to create an exciting thrill ride of a platformer. You?ll find yourself hurtling down slopes, bouncing off soda cans stuck in the ice and whizzing through the air, all the time stringing together immaculately placed bubble combos. It's an exhilarating experience but it doesn?t end there as the icing (no pun intended, honest) on the cake here is the creatinator water gun gameplay, which has you creating precarious bridges of ice blocks over treacherous gaps. The icy freezer setting looks stunning and is packed awesome details ( btw whoever owns this freezer seriously needs to get it defrosted and cleaned ? just sayin?!) and the level plays like a dream ? platforming doesn?t get more fun than this.Well L1ghtmare, you've gone and done it again. You've impressed the heck out of me. You'd think I wouldn't be surprised by now, but each time you put out a new level, it's just freaking amazing. This time folks, we are exploring our way through a freezer of some sort. Not just a frozen tundra, but an actual real life freezer! You see the freezer coils in the background, there's frozen food embedded in ice, open cans of sardines and the list goes on and on. It's the little details that creators add that really impress me and L1ght is a specialist at it. Just something as simple as the paint splotches when you bounce off the cans, a slice of lime frozen in the ice. The game play is awe-haw-some and definitely worthy of my patented "Whoa!" There's a nice balance of fast paced hold on to the seat of your pants slip sliding fun to last you a lifetime! Grab your winter coats and gloves and dive into this level and hope you don't get...Freezer Burn.L1ghtmare has taken us on a number of adventures but none as strange as this?a freezer! Now this is no ordinary freezer; it's got everything from slippery slopes to exploding soda cans. In this level, you?ll find yourself smoothly gliding (or in my case tumbling) down icy slopes, leaping over hazardous eggs shells, and even creating platforms by making ice cubes. There?s a perfect balance of fast-paced, heart pumping gameplay and slower sections requiring a slight pause to lay down some more ice cubes. But wait there?s more! (eww infomercials) As you?re sliding by, you can?t miss the various objects caught up in the monstrous freezer! So if you?re looking for a way to cool off and escape the summer heat, be sure to check this level out.

http://if.lbp.me/img/bl/57f73b055fe3d40593efee202d098f68c2df3bed.pngLBN TRIBUTE: The GOONIES ( Strictly 1 Player ) R0T_IN This is a Tribute to one of the best movies ever made. This level has been brought to you by myself and my co creating partner Storcken. Be sure to check his planet out he has some killer levels. Music : All original music from movie is by Liquid_Blood_ , and i threw a few TERWEEN1400 songs in there, along with a NK song.

Whoa!I am one of the biggest Goonies nerd around and was thrilled to see this entry into LBN's Tribute Contest. I tentatively loaded the title thinking, "oh I'm sure it's ok, but will be missing a lot of stuff." I fully admit to being very much wrong. Rot_In has done an amazing job capturing the very essence of The Goonies and transcribing it in this series. The intricate work on the visuals will captivate and awe you and as you progress into the gameplay components, you too will udder a "Whoa" or two. Rot_In has incorporated a great deal of puzzles to platform you way through, many of which you will recognize from the film, if you've seen it. I was probably most impressed with the bone organ as it was meticulously crafted straight from the movie and sounded just like it as well! Listen, even if you have no clue what a Goonie is, you have still got to play this series. You won't regret it. Goonies Never Say Die!Unlike Bio I have never seen the Goonies film and so I came to this level with no preconceived ideas but I was just as surprised and blown away as he was. It really has so much packed into it: puzzles, platforming and perils aplenty (and other things beginning with ?p? that I?ll think of too late to include in this review). The care spent crafting the environments and adding all those little details just shines through - the organ set piece is something special! There?s never a dull moment either, as you?re faced with heaps of challenge both in solving the puzzles and in the platforming sections. The whole thing exudes its own quirky charm and freshness and will definitely have you uttering those ?whoas? Bio is so fond of. And, yeah, I have no clue what a Goonie is but this series certainly has me intrigued and wanting to know more.

http://i5.lbp.me/img/bl/6b529e9a5a1f2a0d0e947e22bb19470d66a4620c.pngShut Down That Reactor! Holguin86 Set forth bravely into the bowels of That Evil Guy's lair and shut down his reactor! WARNING: Contains a very difficult boss battle, NOT for the faint-hearted| Big thanks to moonwire for creating the plasma shockwaves (you'll know when you see them!) LBPCentral.com | LittleBigPlanetarium.com

Dang, just when I was thinking that we were wrapping up the spotlight, in bust Holguin with this tremendous level! Kapow! Take that Spotlight Crew! Good googa-mooga this level is six shades of awesome. Venture into lair of the evil genius, well I'm assuming he's a genius. He'd have to be to create this place. Design wise, this place is awe inspiring. Every corner you look into is filled with even more goodness. The gameplay is what really grabs you in this level though. So many clever and unique contraptions and obstacles to test your skills as you go about the process of shutting down this reactor. Once you accomplish this task, get ready for a most epic boss battle! What are you waiting for? Get in there and Shut down that Reactor!Perilous purple pitfalls! This is a tricky level, but not too tricky as to break yet another control pad. Just tricky enough to mutter under you breath and blame your stupidity as you miss yet another jump. A nice balance of difficulty and smart design that will keep you on your toes!

http://id.lbp.me/img/bl/a6de8ec77c89b8f7ea86e7bc76070d4c6359eba7.pngPipeWo rks-(1P-ONLY) comishguy67 Pipeworks: A simple mini-game where you create a trail of pipes that gets a ball from one end to the other! This is something that may take some practice and might not be for everyone. Practice makes perfect! Thanks to @kateonamission for the amazing paint tool art, and @nk827 and @father_pyro for the awesome music! Multiplayer version coming soon!

You should know me by now and that I love platformers full of nifty contraptions. Well, I also love a good mini game or two and what we have here is a great one. You've probably seen this type before, either on your phone or in your browser but you probably haven't seen it in Little Big Planet yet. Until now that is. The object is quite simple. Place tubes/pipes down to create a path from point A to point B for a ball to travel through. Create a successful path and be rewarded. Simple right? Yeah, at first. But as that timer starts ticking down and you still haven't figured out the solution, you start panicking and fumbling until at last...the buzzer sounds and game over. There are several game modes to choose from and each one is challenging in it's own way and each one addicting as well. You'll love this one, so go on and give it a try.The concept may be simple but don't be deceived, this mini-game requires some serious thought if you?re going to succeed at it. You?d think that working out a pipe system to get a small white ball from one side of a grid to the other would be easy but take it from me, it isn?t! Not when you?ve got the clock ticking against you, a limited number of pipes to choose from or when you have the spatial awareness of a bear of very little brain *cough* Don?t despair though, even if like me, you find this type of puzzle, erm...puzzling, there?s a good practice mode and the game is fun and addictive. The design works really well, the visuals are polished and the logic impressive. Sometimes it's the simple ideas that work the best. Now if only I could find a way of cheating somehow...

Gotta be honest here. I don't think it's a good idea to put contest levels in the spotlight before the contest is over (the same site that make the contests) . it can give the other people who enter the contest the wrong idea. i'm sure that level is good. (I have not played it so i can't say for sure) but IMO. they should had waited until the contest is over. i know just because it's in a spotlight don't mean it'll win the contest perhaps. but that's not the point. the point is it could discourage the others possibly. *mew2012-06-11 19:40:00

That's actually an interesting point. Our Community Spotlight Crew and Contest Crew are entirely separate operations - aside from the fact that they're here under the LBPCentral banner, they literally have nothing to do with each other. That said, I can see how it could potentially have some affect on contest outcomes. I'll bring this up with the Crew and see what they think. Thanks for raising this concern

Probably because my level thread got no replies

I'm sorry your thread got no replies, SuperROBO1. That does happen sometimes It usually helps getting replies if you're proactive in using the F4F system.

I can assure you though that the number of replies a thread gets has no bearing whatsoever on whether the level gets a spotlight. We don't take any notice of that in judging a level.

Thanks for mentioning my level. I am kinda shocked that I didn't get a spotlight though. There were so many contest levels spotlighted, one more couldn't hurt. Is it because I am not very active on this forum? I'm grateful for being mentioned, i'm just surprised about not being spotlighted for some reason. Idk lol but thanks.2012-06-12 01:22:00

This is a tricky thing to answer. Speaking for myself, I know when I played tribute levels I tried to ignore if they were good 'tributes' or not as that is more of the criteria for the competition. Your activity on this site has no bearing to whether you get a full spotlight either.

The crew actually use a spread sheet with the level name, and an LBP.me link in it to play the levels in the Showcase Thread, I usually queue them up and then get to playing. Most of the time I don't even know the creator's name.

Sometimes a level that can win a competition may not be a pick up and play 'woah' cool type of thing. The crew played more than 100 levels this fortnight so ease of controls and not having to spend 10mins to learn controls for a 5 min game come into it also (not always, I mean, if the level is really good I go back an learn controls). IF after playing 100 levels we went back and worked out activity, play count, creator hearts etc it'd be nightmarish math problem.

We leave that play count Hub layout math up to Hubbie.

Your level (and others) can get a yay/heart from the crew but then we may personally like it in an encouraging way but still have reasons not to offer a full spotlight. In fact I think I hearted your level, and did leave detailed feedback about issues I felt I had. Which is why, in a strange way, even though I hearted it I couldn't vote for a full spotlight but rather a Honourable Mention. I dont hate you and never thought "this guy... He never posts here", I actually thought you were fairly active. *shrug*

On to other general concerns in the thread. Sometimes (alot of times, actually) crew members don't leave feedback or thread comments. Let's go back to that 100 levels number for the reason. I may play 10-15 in a sitting, which links back to immediate accessibility of the level.

Please keep in mind there is no secret formula to getting picked like; "make a platformer with simple controls", but it can be very, very hard to hold someone's attention for a multi level epic or a long movie (both types have been picked in the past). Titanic (http://lbp.me/v/-nq3jh), Aliens (http://lbp.me/v/efsmds), and AEON_QUEST (http://lbp.me/v/75x61n) are examples to this, multi level epics.

When the crew puts down a vote on a level it's based on the feeling after playing. To make it all the more nebulous sometimes someone loves a level and another member plays it and says 'wasn't feeling it, will play again'. Sometimes I will play a level and be more impressed with the potential in the level, so while I may not vote for the level at all I could heart it and the creator, as well as leave feedback.

... and here is the part about F4F.

Quality feedback I left on levels that showed potential actually ended up belonging to people like dracudelishio (http://lbp.me/u/dracudelishio), SAMURAI-09 (http://lbp.me/u/SAMURAI-09) before they became well known, ending up with them reaching out to me for help and more feedback in game.

The result? I worked on both their Mm Picked and Sackie Nominated levels, doing logic and translation. With SAMURAI-09 garnering a Sackie for his work, as well as getting a mention on the Mm podcast by Spaff.

Again because of feedback, I have also helped (albeit, in a limited capacity) in create for levels by julesyjules (http://lbp.me/u/julesyjules) and evret (http://lbp.me/u/evret), which again, have also been given Mm Picks.

If you skim the list of previous (and current) spot lighters you will see some very well know names that have gone on to get Mm picks, and even work for particular game companies. So maybe, just maybe, playing as many levels as you can helps you get a feel for what works and what doesn't resulting in better levels.

The crew aren't here just to give you plays, the Showcase is to show off but also play other people's levels, so if you have no comments in your thread leave comments in others. Get your name out there. If a level you worked super hard on doesn't get plays, then seek out why and what needs to be fixed or thought about.

Not being picked is not the end of the world, try to actively seek feedback through F4F. In fact, I have a F4F level right now, sitting there waiting... and there is a strong chance I have already played your level...

Huge spotlight this time!! Good news, this show the community still having good "Health", creating new projects and having passion for it. Are there new great levels to play, some of them sadly, haven't the chance to be on cool pages due diverse reasons, but as always, here is the "Community Spotlight section" to give us a idea about what to play. Personally is my main reference ( With Mm pick list, for example ). Fortunately the new LBP.me update ( about create lists ) give me the chance of "queue" levels in a fast way, and this is a important reason to try it.

Congratulations to the creators spotlighted, specially glad to see my great friends @Alley_Cat_8633, @L1GhTmArE and @Comishguy67 on here, who created really great levels which I had the proud to test. Thanks once again to the spotlight crew for such a impressive and hard work picking levels on this new episode.

but wouldn't it be a good idea to pick two that are the cream of the crop and send them off to Stevenl to add to the MM picks?

Not trying to start anything here, or even remotely try to change the tone of this, but I don't think this is a good idea whatsoever.
That would result in horrible flaming, anger, and general disgruntlement from communities outside of LBPCentral because, by allowing us to choose two levels for StevenI to pick, we would essentially be in control of a quarter to half of the MM picks every other week.

If you asked me I could probably recite more than enough examples of flaming and hate we would receive if the community were to find out we had correlation with the MM picks. Not to mention the fact that picking 1-2 levels from a spotlight of so many amazing levels would be close to impossible.

So in short, that would cause more chaos in the community than it would be intended to mend.

Oh, and I'm not trying to be a jerk in any way possible. Just pointing out some issues we could have if MM picks begin to interact with Community-run-level-pick scenarios.

Continuing from Grayspence... We already give StevenI a short list of levels each fortnight, and I'm sure he knows about them usually. 2012-06-19 07:42:00

As CC suggested, we in the crew have been discussing what you said, fume, about contest levels being given a spotlight. We do understand your point of view. In the end, though, we decided that it doesn?t seem altogether fair to exclude contest entries from the spotlight.

Part of the point of posting a level in the showcase is to get feedback in the hope of improving your level and we wouldn?t want to deny contestants that opportunity until after the contest is over. Even allowing levels to be posted but holding back the spotlight would be penalising creators, as by the time they eventually got their spotlight it would seem a bit out of date and pointless (it can be eight weeks or more from the time a level is published until the judging is over). It has always been an unwritten rule of spotlighting that spotlights are based on the merit of the level itself, not who made it or why they made it. For that reason none of the entries to any of the LBPC contests (not just the Contest Crew ones) has ever been excluded from the possibility of a spotlight.

It may seem as if spotlighting the entries involves a conflict of interest but we don't think that in reality there is one. As you say, getting a spotlight is no guarantee of a win in the contest anyway. The judges on the contest crew may have different views from the spotlight crew. There will be around 7 judges for the contest who will all take their job very seriously and will not be influenced by whether a level has already been spotlighted or not. Don?t forget, for example, that Lordwarblade?s winning entry only got a spotlight nod but won LBPC5 and in other contests several different entries have been spotlighted, which again doesn?t give much of a clue as to which (if any) will end up winning.

We understand your concerns but we can only assure you that as judges we all try to be totally impartial and professional about the judging process and we have a range of very different individuals judging the contests so that all sorts of tastes and perspectives are taken into account. Even if there is some small overlap between the crews I don't believe this is a problem. We look for different things when judging for spotlight purposes than when judging the contest.

We can see that it might be discouraging if another entry is spotlighted but in some ways seeing a level spotlighted here is no worse than seeing it ?picked? by other sites. All it does really is show that a level has met certain quality standards in the eyes of the people picking. Some contest entries already have more plays, good reviews or hearts from the community than other entries before they are judged. So there are already ways in which some levels may look as if they are being singled out as being better than others before the judging starts. We can only stress again that the judges ignore all these things when assessing and make up their own minds.

-Sincerely, The LBPC Community Spotlight Crew
