How can I make this car better?

Archive: 9 posts

Hi there. I made my first car ever on LBP yesterday and I'm wondering what I can do better. I'll include some photos below so you can see.

I tried to recreate the Lamborghini Aventador but I'm not sure what else I should add apart from the rear lights. It has 2 seats and one of them controls the car with noises. This is my first car so I'm wondering what features I should add.

You could add the side mirrors for more detail, and use a more reflective glass material for the headlights. Some shading with stickers would also give the car more of a 3D look, as well as a lighter color stickering on some of the curved surfaces to give some highlighting for greater contrast. Other than that, it's looking very nice.2012-06-10 05:43:00

Does it use motorbolts or bolts and rotators? I find that if you use a bolt and a rotator on each of the wheels with the bolt tightness set to 0% and the deceleration on the rotator to 0%, then it produces a nice effect. This is better than using a motor bolt because the car carries on rolling forward if you let go of the accelerator, like they do in real life. But if you use a motor bolt, then it suddenly stops if you let go of the accelerator. If you do this, then it's a good idea to make a brake too (using an anti gravity tweaker and some sound effects).

Also, I love having neon on my cars. It produces a nice effect, like on this car made by me (heh heh, shameless advertising).

And my personal favourite effect:

That's right, explosions. Everybody loves 'em. I find that giving cars the ability to explode is awesome.

I agree with all of that, except unless the camera angle is correct, side mirrors can look rather odd, either 2-D or they'd stick out far too much... awesome car, sir.2012-06-12 13:02:00

I notice in your first picture, that the seat the sackperson is sitting in has his head sticking out of the roof and, this always looks ugly (not you car mate, but the effect- the car is stunning).
To fix this embed the seat. Here's how-

1. Seclect the whole car and raise it up away from the ground. unselect the whole car
2. Make a flat 1 layer thick small pikece of holgraphic material( or sticker panel) 2 wide x 1 high small grid squares.
3. Take the seat off the car as is and (with the grid now off), place ad turn the seat on the top side of the holo block.
4. Now select this block with the seat on it and drag it down over where the sest should go...however.... as its on a seperate piece of holo,
you can drag id down inside the floor of the car. So, 'sink' it into the floor enough so the sackpersons head clears the roof.
5. Now, glue the holoblock with the seat in place, and the seat will actually be sunk into the floor. Your sack will now be inside the car and have headroom.
--------------
If this is unclear, join me and i'll be happy to show you .

Differential gears? Rear brake, lights? Indicators? opening doors.
Hope this helps

When it comes to your car detail try not to have sharp corners and add shading in for the care to pop out more2012-07-31 00:18:00
