Skate 2? I thought it was called Skate it? That's the sequel to Skate 1, only on DS/Wii. Skate 2 is a whole new game. New city and all. | 2009-01-05 21:50:00 Author: ryryryan Posts: 3767 |
Skate It is actually the Wii/DS offshoot of Skate. Skate 2 is very much coming along very nicely (http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sports/skate2workingtitle/news.html?mode=previews&om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;previews). I've played my fair piece of the original's demo, and thought it was fun, but maybe not enough to warrant a full purchase. Then again, I haven't really played a skateboarding game since THPS and THPS2. | 2009-01-05 21:54:00 Author: Mark D. Stroyer Posts: 632 |

Yeah I haven't played a skate game in a long time, maybe I will have to check this one out. But I will have to check out the demo at least. | 2009-01-06 15:27:00 Author: Darth_Spartan Posts: 813 |
Oh hell yes. I love Skate. so much. The pure realism and innovation of it was great, and it's effectively just a baseline for Skate. 2 to take leaps further. More tricks, bigger city, more indepth story, more features. It's gonna be awesome. | 2009-01-06 18:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
i;m so excited i was looking at videos the whole time. So many cool new things coming, more city space and WOW i'm excited! | 2009-01-06 23:55:00 Author: Frank-the-Bunny Posts: 1246 |

I hate all of you Americans now. I want to play it so bad. How different is it from Skate, just from the demo? | 2009-01-08 21:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
if you had an xbox, you could get it in england to it plays kinda the same, but you can get off your board wich is cool, it is a lot tighter control wise, and doing footplants is awesome, but yeah, there is a lot of stuff | 2009-01-08 22:00:00 Author: Unknown User |

I hate all of you Americans now. I want to play it so bad. How different is it from Skate, just from the demo? The difference between Skate and Skate 2 is like the difference between cement and cardboard. It feels fake. It's really clunky and confusing, too. I won't be buying it. | 2009-01-09 00:54:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

Well, I just bought a whole slew of games (7 in total) in america taking advantage of the price difference. Since it wasn't out, I didn't get it. SO, I got skate 1 lol. | 2009-01-18 14:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
Demo is too short, very fun though. | 2009-01-18 14:29:00 Author: Boomy Posts: 3701 |

Look, I won't lie; I love the Skate 2 demo! That said, was I missing something when I passed over Skate last year? Enlighten me here, people. | 2009-01-18 15:15:00 Author: supersickie Posts: 1366 |
Well, I just bought a whole slew of games (7 in total) in america taking advantage of the price difference. Since it wasn't out, I didn't get it. SO, I got skate 1 lol. I found it confusing, but after a few minutes I got used to it, at times I would like there to be less button presses to be able to pull of a superdude grabs while flipping though :l Going in the direction you want to is a bit tricky at times too. 'Dude while you where in prison, we learnt how to get off our boards' made me LOL | 2009-01-18 16:49:00 Author: Boomy Posts: 3701 |
just played thedemo and this game is going to be kick *** | 2009-01-18 18:13:00 Author: Sonic5411 Posts: 712 |

I LOVED the first Skate. Being a big fan of the Tony Hawk series up to the third installment and then getting tired of it's staleness was a big factor in my excitement for Skate 1. Then, when I got my hands on the new control scheme they came up with, I was in heaven. Skate 2 just improves on one of the best things about the series: Having a great time feeling like you've actually got some skating skills... and skating at the same spot for 15 minutes trying to do it perfectly... and playing with the replay editor... and now you can customize spots with movable objects... and OH MY GOD IT'S AMAZING! Anyway, I'll be getting it on PS3 since my XBOX died... Also, yes, supersickle, you missed out big time with Skate 1... but, Skate 2 is a great way to break into the series. If you ever get the chance though, it would be worth giving Skate 1 a go just to see how it all began. | 2009-01-18 20:30:00 Author: Comatoes Posts: 76 |

The demo was great. I have played it at least 3 times now and it only gets better. The replayability of that one little demo is unbelievable. I am buying this when it comes out Friday. | 2009-01-18 23:22:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
is quite a fun demo but soooo short i was disappointed, and i don't like that it's timed | 2009-01-19 03:13:00 Author: Frank-the-Bunny Posts: 1246 |
It won't let me install it. I may have to redownload it. | 2009-01-19 03:14:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
I can't wait The first one was fun, and addicting I think the 2nd one will be epic, I will buy it! | 2009-01-19 03:50:00 Author: BloodFlameX Posts: 349 |
Maybe I should have waited for #2 :. Though there really is only one thing I thought was missing from skate 1. We were like GLUED to our boards! We should had had an option to get off the boards and walk up stairs! Maybe not a button press, maybe like an automated thing where you stay against stairs to walk up them... | 2009-01-19 05:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thought I might be missing something spectacular so I picked it up today. Can already see that it's going to keep me entertained for quite some time. Skate. is a fantastic game. Skate. 2 just feels unpolished. The walking is horrid, as is the repositioning of objects. Honestly, I preferred it when you had to deal with what you were given and get around using just your board. Now, creativity in skating style isn't really a factor because we can rearrange stuff to fit it to our liking. I love Skate. and I still play it to this day, but I won't even be renting Skate. 2. | 2009-01-19 05:49:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Wow, you can walk in 2? Well. Eve so, I wont be getting it. Mostly because I have $4 left but you know. | 2009-01-19 06:02:00 Author: Unknown User |
Just played the demo. Skate 2 is a fun game, I'll admit it. But probably only because I don't HAVE the original Skate. The fact is that the whole analog stick thing is fun, but I have a feeling that the novelty will eventually wear off. The graphics are all right, nothing impressive. As a matter of fact, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (yes, I am one of the five people who bought that game) has better graphics. The walking is horrible, HORRIBLE, the worst walking I've ever done in a game, and steering your skateboard I found was a bit clunky. It didn't surprise me with anything. It pretty much (from what I could tell from both demos) the same game. If I want to get Skate 2, I'll get the original Skate for half price. Oh boy, look what I just did. I said Skate 2 is pretty much the original Skate. Let's wait and see how long it takes for Ace to get in here to start telling me that Spyro is the same as Pong because you have to turn the games on to play them. | 2009-01-22 03:22:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |

The bag of tricks is a lot bigger, this time around... I've probably played the demo 20 times, now. Skate isn't for everyone, as CC has pointed out but, everything I liked about the first game has been improved and everything I had gripes about in the first game have been fixed so... I'm extremely happy, even before I have the final copy. I can tell from the demo that they did a fantastic job. I will admit that the walking is terrible but hey, it's a skating game; it's not going to feel as smooth as Ratchet & Clank when you're walking around. It reminds me a lot of Tomb Raider when it first came out on Playstation... having to turn your body and then move forward... instead of just pointing in the direction you want to go. Also, @CC's comment about moving objects: You don't have to move the objects, if you don't want to. I definitely know where you're coming from about doing what you can with what you got but hey, in reality, people move stuff. They build things. They try new feats. The last 10 times I played the demo, I spent most of the time positioning things around to get a crazy grind going... then, once I got it, I had fun with the improved replay editor... which is most definitely improved from it's predecessor. Anyway, all I'm saying is you can still just do what you want with what you got; just don't move anything around. =P | 2009-01-22 04:55:00 Author: Comatoes Posts: 76 |
20 times? amateur lol ... hmm i must have played it on my 360 for about 10 hours... | 2009-01-22 16:52:00 Author: Unknown User |
