Alright, I have played this level, and here's what I think. (Just want you to know that I review levels while I play, and that my main goal is to give any criticisms I can think about or glitches I can find, so even if I have a lot of nitpicks, that doesn't mean that I don't like the level, but I will try giving some compliments to what I do like in the level, now let's begin then.)

Alright, starting off, I like the logo, slime is good too. And wow, nice environment. I must say, it fits well for a zoomed out setting that makes sackboy seem smaller. I like the big rocks, and the trees, and, yeah, nice use of move pack decos. Stickers on the wall work surprisingly well too. I LOVE the gas and sounds by the way. The music gives it the creepy feeling it deserves, and the rumbling of the earth, and the gooey noises of the gas. And I love how those gross bubbles pop out. Seriously, it's a great minor detail. Picking up crystals in fun, I like how you've associated a well-thought deco, and a nice ca-ching sound to go with it. Another good minor detail thrown in that makes it all the more livelier.

I like the transition into the lab, as you don't just leave the creepy crawly environment behind, mixing the two themes together for one creepy scare fest. a lot of people have said that you should never make the environment visible. I disagree on this, yes, it can make things a bit akward a lot of times, but because this in a lab with nature taking over, of course Eve's background works. I also love the gooey blobs launching upwards. Although I think they shouldn't share a similar sound to the bubbles showing up , which seems to be kind of a "water dripping" sound. Because they're a bigger threat, hurling themselves up, perhaps give it a more gross sound. I can't give you an exact word onto how the sound should be, but something more of a lab experiment gone wrong, I don't know.

At first, I was the tiniest bit iffy about lady bugs. Adding bugs with it was a good decision, but they didn't seem to be much of a threat, seeing as how jumping on or grappling onto it would kill them easily. Still though, I found later on that they were a nice addition to gaining points, along with the crystal shards. Still though, sometimes one or two would get in the way, as to where I was going to grapple onto a switch, but accidentally grapple onto a ladybug and die. While this could be a listed as a complaint, I'm going to leave it up to you to decide if you want to fix it, because one could view it as if you have to keep your eyes peeled for the ladybugs, because their true threat is not running into you, but making you fall to your doom, which is actually a great way of looking at it.

I think what really got me to like the ladybugs as I kept progressing as, combined with the music presented, and the lab environment, is that it gave off a feel similar to that of Metroid Prime, exploring an abandoned location, all alone, with one goal, to take down the parasites surrounded, and search for answers. So, by reaching this point, no, I think the ladybugs are a very valuable addition. The way that you blended it in, whether you know it or not, simply works, and works beautifully. And it was real creepy running into the giant ant, while it was outside, perhaps a future enemy?

Machinery designs were well done, such as the gigantic fan that sits behind the elevator you take when you reach the second floor, and the platforms hiding the bounce pads in a clean and effective fashion. I like the sounds made as the giant ant leaves when you first encounter it, so when you reach the area of the lab with the switch and blinking red light, I think it'd be nice to add some creepy-crawly sounds to the ladybugs at the button as they start moving off-screen.

Swinging onto the broken ceiling as you try escaping the lab is fun, and I loved the angles used as you're about to face the giant ant boss. Sure the boss itself might not be one of the best bosses out there, and the design was very simplistic, but I liked how you didn't jump over the same slime ball going in the same direction throughout the boss battle. I liked how you mixed it up, and even tied the environment in as an extra challenge, forcing you to jump over the slime balls shot at you as lightning hit every once in a while, not as a hazard, but as a means of distraction, to get yourself killed by the slime, kind of like the lady bugs with the gas.

The effects of the boss' death could be spruced up a bit maybe. I don't know exactly, obviously, it exploding into slime makes sense, with all the slime it shot out, but I don't know, maybe add some brown debris, to represent the ant's body? anyway though, the fact that you added in little frames where stickers of different animal test subjects, along with adding other lab rooms you couldn't get to, showed that you weren't being lazy, It only added more to this wonderful level. getting out was kinda fun as well, no big countdown from it being exploded or anything, but no worries. Not sure if I got the upside-down ant at the end though.

Overall, this was a ton of fun to play. The atmosphere rocked, and the use of points, bugs, music, background, decos, just wow. It had a great lonely feeling like I said, similar to Metroid Prime, as you tried taking down the bugs surrounding the lab. You've got a real talent man, I'm gonna try giving your other levels a shot, and I really hope the spotlight crew has a similar response, I'd to love to see this on their next Community Spotlight.

Any time, people put hard work into their levels, my goal is to simply give them the detailed reviews they truely deserve. (Not trying to pat myself on the back though)

I understand what you mean, and I guess it's all a matter of opinion in the end.
