The Trojan Horses have attacked the Animal Kingdom and captured their majestic Princess Peacock. In the wake of her absence Cherry the cheetah has taken command of the Kingdom and to ensure it's safety & protection has blocked the main road leading to the menacing horses. Your mission is to find Cherry, gain access to the Trojan Horses, defeat them and rescue their beloved princess, returning peace & stability to the Animal Kingdom in the process. My 1st publication. Enjoy!

Hey man, just checked out your level. Thought it was pretty fun

Pros

-It looked pretty nice. You decorated it to the extreme and put quite a bit of work into a making the level look appealing.

-Your trojan horses were pretty cool. I especially enjoyed that part.

-Giving an offering to Cherry was a nice touch

Cons

-Your level is like 2 levels. The first part is ridiculously easy with a lot of MM-made content, and then the end is pretty difficult with all custom made content. While this isn't a huge issue, you should always try and make it progressively harder instead of going from one extreme to the other.

- I had no idea what to do after the one elevator lift. Apparently there were stairs behind it that led to a switch, but I almost gave up because I couldn't find what to do. An arrow would fix this.

- Extend the timer. I died once during the entire trojan horse part, went rather quickly through it and was still 10 seconds shy of finishing the section and recieving any points. I know you got quite a few plays on this and the scoreboard will be messed up if you do this, but it sucks rushing through it to find it's nearly impossible to finish in time.

- Try and use all custom content in future levels. Really adds to the overall appeal, and shows the author put a lot of work into the level. (even though I know you already did)

Altogether a really nice first level man. Very user-friendly and polished so there are no annoying snags throughout. Good job! 4/5 stars

Check out A Knight's Tale (Part 2A): Ranaku's Awakening for the F4F whenever you have time. Link to the thread is below Thanks m8

Wow! Neverynnal that was awesome. Having my level reviewed for the first time is an awesome experience. Man I love this game yo! You could tell that I was a noob at the beginning of the level and once I started getting the hang of creation mode I started to use more custom content.

The horse is a creation of my buddy Snidy from his map Castle Blue. Just the horse with the piston. I enlarged that horse by 800% and added the entire wacky contraption on top.

I will add an arrow or even a speech bubble to that elevator section you mentioned. I had another comment regarding what to do after that lift so thanks on pointing it out.

The timer during the Trojan Horses is very short. I have it where if you die at least twice, you most likely won't make it. I'll add some more time like you said regardless of the integrity of the scoreboard. I even added some columns in the foreground during the Cherry the cheetah dash to the horses and more "stomping" sounds from the horses.

Thank you bro for all your feedback and I will review A Knight's Tale (Part 2A): Ranaku's Awakening late tonight and hopefully have some feedback posted by tomorrow.

No problem man My pleasure. I'm glad to see your working on some of the suggestions I made, as they will only improve on the overall quality of the level in my opinion. Keep creating because you got a really nice knack for the basic mechanics of create mode and I only see you making better and better levels! Keep it up and I hope you enjoy Ranaku's Awakening 2009-01-06 18:20:00

Indeed. I added 50 seconds to the Trojan Horse timer on your recommendation. It added 5000 points to my overall high score so now the scoreboard is ready to be completely reschuffled.

That section with the lift, I didn't add a sign or magic mouth, instead I just changed the material of the stairs behind the elevator to a "illuminating screen" so it's real bright and you can't miss it. It's a lazy atempt to fix the problem without adding much to it.

Thanks again for your feedback and sorry I haven't gotten to reviewing your map yet. I have already played it and enjoyed it. Just wanna play it again to get more of a feel for it. I was half asleep when I first ran through it.

Hi, I'm playing on your level know and posting what I find as I'm playing.

+ Switch triggers! Hardly any levels I have played use these, they are a great idea
+ Built well, it all functions as it should
+ Pulling the cherry with you through obstacles and little puzzles was good. There was good feedback to the player, the lights coming on etc.
+ After the rocket cheetah you could see how much better a creator you'd become. Original obstacles, the horse looks good when the camera pans and you can see right down it.
+ The second part is a completely different level, loads going on, things spinning, moving up and down. Looks good.

- Re-using MM's objects. But its your first level, I did the same
- Detail on the first half is lacking, apart from the sunflowers covering up the dissolve it looks a little flat.
- Managed to fall off the horse, and could have missed most of the best part of the level if i'd not restarted
- Had no chance of finishing the race
- Where are the prize bubbles on the horse?

At first I thought this was a pretty bland level, the cherry section was the standout part from the first half. Then the second happened and theres going on left right and center whilst moving through the horse. The detail is still a bit lacking for me, but theres so much moving the eye is distracted.

Like I said, I fell of the horse and had to pop sackboy to get back on it. Perhaps though, you could work this into the level, the further you get through the more points you get as a reward. If you fall off, you're gonna be low down the scoreboard. Tell players at the start so they are aware?

It was a solid enough level. You could see you getting better with the editor as you went along. Playing your next one should be intresting, after the second half of that one.

I gotta put some gas or spikes beneath the Trojan Horses. I had put a thin layer of gas but then 10 seconds into the map my entire Trojan Horse disappears into a puff of smoke as if the gas somehow hit the creature's brain. When I place spikes down, the horses' pistons usually end up falling off. I gotta figure out someway to kill your Sack should you fall down. As it is right now, there shouldn't be a way to skip an entire horse by walking beneath him. The huge piston should smash you, unless you attempt to walk directly beneath the horse on the back plane by waiting for him to jump.

I increased the timer during the Trojan Horse section by 50 seconds thanks to Neverynnal's suggestion above.

There are 2 Prize Bubbles on the horses. They're in front of the the 1st & 3rd horses. When you're on the huge piston, move to your left and you'll be able to reach them. They are a prototype model of my current boss, a Double Trojan Horse and a Quadruple Trojan Horse.

Thanks for your feedback Grantos and I'll be reviewing your map, From Siberia with Love, during the week.

Neverynnal and GrantosUK summed up my feelings on your level pretty well, so I won't add much. I will say that while you did use a lot of MM's objects, I felt that you actual used them very well. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I did appreciate more custom content toward the end of the level as that's when it really developed it's own style.

I think it was a fun level. Good job. I look forward to what you do in the future.

Thanks MrSuperComputer. It was my first level and I realize now that custom content is the way to go. Just had to get a feel for the creation mode. I'll never use MM objects ever again. Thanx for your input bro. I gotta check out your map too.2009-01-11 13:20:00

I have a mixed reaction to this one -

On the one hand, I really love how you have swings and hoists with multiple depths - that's really a terrific idea for multiplayer games. And the first prize bubble was really well done. It took satisfyingly long enough to figure that one out. Using a sticker switch is way too rare in user-created content, imho.

On the other hand, the look is a little disjoint, with the flowers and that check pattern. And I've gotten stuck just after the notice to not "let the sunflowers beneath my feet" deceive me. The springy platform doesn't launch me anywhere, and there is deadly gas below. I can't figure out what is next.

Just played it ^^".
Lol Im on top 10 wohoo!

Anyways here are the pros:
- really cute and relaxing ^^"
- The idea of the cherry gift to save the princess was pretty well used.
- Puzzles were quite good. (Like when I was carrying the gift ... and something was blocking my path ... I was like ... hmmm did I miss something ... and there it is on the top! lol)
- Sound effects / Light effects (passing of the gift) was a pretty nice touch.
- The Trojan horse is pretty astonishing. All that platforming ^^" and ways!
- The timer on the Trojan Horse part was a nice addition!

Some cons + advices:
- umm should I still say something about the reused content? >,<" ... They already have tackled this one. The trojan part was pretty well done though.
- the first monsters were there are electrified panels ... takes suicide >,< ... as they go away from you and fall on the electrified panels. Advice: ummm signals?
- The part where there is a hidden sponge? Where you said ... something like dont let flowers fool you could use a little bit more of a pin-point action. Been wondering what am I to do at the part for like 5 mins ... Advice: use cutscene mode on the speech bubble and zoom a bit to the disguised sponge.
- A little more varierity? There were some places that were empty ...

Overall ... really loved the Trojan part ^^" ... I like being thrown high . The puzzle part was also good!
... but there still is a lot to improve and I know you will improve them ^^"

Thanks for your feedback guys.

That's the one section that I was worried about Trystian, the hidden sponge beneath your feet. You're supposed to grab the sponge underneath you that is covered with sunflowers and that uncovers a button that dissolves the platform above the piston allowing you to shoot upwards and flip a switch. Senrir's suggestions are spot on, although I did use a cut scene with the monkey that shows the hidden sponge and placed the monkey above it so it's as if he's pointing at it. I already have the stone above the sponge cut into the shape of an arrow and I'll move the monkey a little bit out of the way. This is vital. I do not want players getting stuck at this part so thanks for your feedback guys.

Those blue electric eyeballs are my map's version of a goomba from Super Mario Bros. I have them set with a small radius and "flee" so when you jump towards them they move outta the way, sometimes killing you as you land at the spot they used to be. They are also there so you can jump off of them and collect the point bubbles hanging from the ceiling. If you time it right you are able to get a x3 multiplier. I really didn't understand your suggestion Senrir, sorry man.

Variety. I hear ya. I stuck with some basic materials like rough concrete in the beginning, checkered stone in the middle and aztec metal for the Trojan Horse part (also used green grass sponge for the ground). I have a little bit of flexibility with the thermometer, about 5%. Have any suggestions on what I can add or change for more variety? Right now my mind is totally LittleBigBurntOut and I can't come up with anything, even on my almost finished 3rd map.

I still have a bunch of F4FV to get to so I'm sorry if I'm taking too long to get out my reviews. I'll get to most of them tonight.

this level was class man, especially loved the race, liked the decoration details, but i felt stickers couldve been used to brighten up the backrounds a bit more in the section before the race... 4/5 stars but heres how 2 get the fifth star:
extended race timer.
those piston platforms next to the trojan horses are kinda annoying cause i kept falling back into the backround, but a great idea nonetheless!!
more sticker detail.
more memorable moments near the start to hook players cause its all basically swinging for ages, add a puzzle!
the part where you have to drag a cherry to the princess, theres a switch on the roof i took ages to notice, add a camera zoomed out here to fix this.

do all that and its well worth five stars ( i gave you 5 stars anyway )
i hearted your level and you as an author

try my level please and give honest feedback

Talmasca, great feedback bro. I will check out your maps and give you honest feedback (it's the only feedback I know). I'll also add a puzzle or two in the beginning. YOU ARE SO RIGHT! A freakin puzzle! Why couldn't I think of that! Man, I am LBP burnt out man. Thanks again man!

I am unable to edit the first post so here are some pics of Sunflower Safari.

Trojan Horses
These are the Trojan Horses. You start by catapulting on it's head and climb up and then drop down into the center section there an land on the moving piston platform. The red arrow points to the creature's "brain." Hit all 4 to destroy the horses, rescue the princess and beat the level.

Star Sticker Switch
Gotta place a star sticker on the big star and that drops a heavy ramp that crushes those LittleBigBlueEyeBalls (my map's "goomba") and dissolves that sunflower covered stone blocking your pathway.

Trojan Horses
A zoomed out view of my boss. My buddy Snidy designed the actual horse with the piston (which you can actually check out on his map Castle Blue). I just enlarged them, stuck 4 of them together and created the whole contraption above them. Their piston movement causes the entire thing to shake. It's a nice touch. Beat the level to receive this entire Trojan Horse as a shareable object.
