LBN TRIBUTE: The Walking Dead

This is my entry for the LBN TRIBUTE Contest. I had worked on it non-stop for the past 3 months, and I believe I have a decent chance at winning that contest prize!

So far everyone seems to like it. Which is a good thing lol. I still don't seem to understand why people don't complete the entire level, meaning that they wont play the other two levels which is gameplay and story. They are chapter 1 and chapter 2, I level link the 3 levels together and i gave everyone keys. Its a little strange but oh well.

Yeah, make sure you play those episodes. Especially the second, that's where all the action is! I advise you to play in chronological order though. Everything will make more sense.

I'm really happy with the results with my level. After for working on it for so long, I'm glad to see many people are enjoying it, and it even got on the cool pages. All that hard work so far is really paying off. Thanks everybody!		2012-06-02 22:51:00

I played all the episodes , they were absolutely amazing. Really good details on the city It had alot of suspense ! Actually loved the gun and the idea of being able to aim in that spectacular way More info on my review. Hm. So the level was a decent success. Almost 2000 plays, tons of positve reviews, and a good handful of hearts. Thanks everybody.

I just wanted to say, the coolest thing someone has told me about my level is that they think I had reinvented the zombie genre in lbp. I loved hearing that lol.		2012-06-07 01:37:00

Played it. Very well made. Did you create the theme tune? I think you did a decent job of it, quite a difficult theme to do in LBP I imagine. I have 2 complaints:

The first being that Carl and Lori weren't as annoying as they should have been!

Thanks. Lol I'm sorry they weren't as annoying in my level as they are in the show. This level was mainly for Rick and Glenn with some Daryl, and mainly Lori being a tad annoying.

I made it the longest I could. Some other creators in the contest must have had more free time than me. I have had school, tons of tests, projects, and homework, plus the week i have been sick since i published it. The quote at the beginning of my level, i think, is appropriate for my time constrain. I wish I had more time, because it would have been such a better level.		2012-06-07 20:25:00

Really well built and shot (if I can say that). I didn't much care for the shooting mechanic though, and even with the suspense built up so well I didn't really feel like I had to survive on the roof. I think that shooting with the R2/L1 combination may have been what caused me to have that disconnect.

Anyways super high production values and I was very, very impressed with the details and design. Just not the gunplay.

Hey this was a cool level! I loved how accurate it was to the intro of the show! The show is a favorite of mine (even though it creeps me out)


But the gameplay here felt severely lacking. I was so excited to start playing this. But then it just...ended...before it started! Like you kill a zombie in the house which was cool. Then they start to attack and you go to the roof where you repetively kill the same zombies over and over again until you jump to a roof just to stand there and do nothing?


This level has so much potential, but the gameplay was not nearly challenging enough or engaging. I hope you add more to this as I would like a full game to be made 		2012-06-09 08:23:00

When I started this I just wanted to make it a direct episode, where you would just sit back and watch the show like you would on a sunday night. The contest required gameplay though so this is what I made. If I had more time I would have been able to make it alot longer and more in depth. I honestly had alot more ideas for this I wanted to add to it but I ran out of time.

After the contest, and when I'm able to edit it again, I'll make updates to enhance the gameplay.

And on the first roof, those zombies weren't the same. Each one was different. Some were friends of mine, me, my brother, and just random walkers of adults and children.

Like I said though, I ran out of time and had to cut back. After the contest is over, I'll edit it and add more. I might make another eventually, but I made it so the story in my level continues with the start of season 2.

The controls seemed comfortable to me and my friends, so I guess some people are just a little picky when it comes to that. Some people thought it was a challenging level, some thought it was easy.

I know I'm not going to win, and I accept that. I enjoyed making the level and I believe it is the best walking dead tv level ever made in LBP2.

I'm working on a new project now not related to the walking dead, and this level is most likely going to be my only walking dead level. I'll edit it, enhance it, make it better, eventually.

I tried to make it so the story got the player caught up in the tension, so if glenns plan did not work out, what would have you done in that situation? Jump off and die or shoot them from safety until you run out of ammo and maybe escape then? The Walking dead isnt suppose to be a direct shoot em up zombie killer but a story based on character survival. I tried to make this as real and serious as possible.

I did the best I could in the time I had, like the quote at the beginning of my level, and if anyone doesn't like what I have made for the community, then that's too bad. Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed it though.
