Dodge the cars and get points for kills. I've added menus, a tutorial, and multiplayer. I hope you have fun! http://lbp.me/v/bn93f1 | 2012-06-01 22:33:00 Author: Unknown User |

I thought I recognized this. You did a race with these cars before. Anyway, to business. I like what you were going for with this, but I have to say, I found it a little, chaotic. It was incredibly easy to just ride around randomly at high speeds hitting random buttons not caring about strategy. I know the purpose was just a destruction derby style kill all cars, but there really didn't seem much drive (ooh a pun) to do even that. The AI vehicles pretty much meet this chaos idea as well. There is some targeting smarts but I think it could use some tweaking. For instance, a common sight is a pileup where the player is stuck in the corner, all of the enemy vehicle pile up around and are unable to do anything because there is nowhere for the missiles/mines to emit and they seem to only move towards the player. This especially happens since the player enters in a corner. I suggest implementing some sort of failsafe for these kinds of situations. There, now that the negatives are over, off to the positives. Like before, I actually enjoy the simplistic style in the hovercar design. I especially liked how as the attacks went on, the car loses its outer shell and the player remains in the exposed core. The controls work, maybe they could use some smoothness, but as they stand its good. The menu was nicely done as well. Visually, I just like how everything had a clean look. Overall, I think the level could use a revamp of the enemy AI and some additional structure in the gamplay. There's a lot of potential with this, such as a legitimate arena rather than an open space. I feel like if I'm given the ability to lay mines, there should be an oportunity to set traps, not just drive around in a circle spamming two buttons. Too much randomness occurs, but if it is controlled properly, it could work to your advantage. There's a lot of possibilities with this. As it stands, I think this is a good base. I did enjoy playing it for a time and look foward to seeing where else you take these designs. | 2012-06-07 04:55:00 Author: xxMATEOSxx Posts: 1787 |
I thought I fixed the stuck to a wall problem, did you encounter it during this play through? And BTW, the designs to the car are almost identical, but there were some control tweaks, with the ability to reverse and place mines. Thanks for the feedback! | 2012-06-07 07:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
did you encounter it during this play through? Yes, I played this a couple of times yesterday primarily to see if that was a one time thing. It was not. I forgot to mention the reversing. That was a nice addition. | 2012-06-07 16:12:00 Author: xxMATEOSxx Posts: 1787 |
Ok I'll fix it, thanks for telling me! | 2012-06-08 21:53:00 Author: Unknown User |
